  • this is boring

  • I liked this movie a lot too :)

It's like a history book of horror hosts

  • watch?v=Ek9As4I0se0

  • Leonard Malton's chair is sooooooooo gay !!!!!

    but then.... well.... you know.

  • Being too young to remember or have seen most of these shows I found this movie very interesting. I think there would definitely be an audience for this type of thing today. Good watch. 10 out of 10.

  • being a former Los Angelino, and being old enough to remember several of these fine preformers,, one can't help but wonder why our own beloved Larry Vincent, the one and only Seymour, who was "the most sinister man to crawl on the face of the earth" was left off this list of wonderful people who brought the humor along with terrible films, and paved the way for our current hosts, R.I.P Seymour, the wall is truly closed....

  • check our channel for the NEXT generation of horror hosts

  • Loved it.

  • Que Buen Documental / GREAT DOCUMENTARY

  • Movie would be a lot better if the background music didn't go the entire time.

I wish I could see the Joe Bob Briggs interview uncut, he was my horror host as a kid. Always made it so much fun.

  • My favorite of all is Son of Svengoolie.

  • When I was a kid growing up in Virginia, We had a guy called "Dr. Madblood". He was the same sort of thing as Elvira and the like, A humorous horror cliche type host, Presenting cheesy slasher and sci-fi films and such . He looked like a crazy old bearded scientist with lab coat and white wig. Not sure if it was a local thing or not. I know when I ask anyone if they have heard of him they usually say no.

  • god

  • Check out our channel for a show called "FREAKY FUCKIN FRIDAY"... We are starting a new 21st century style of horror hosting! We hope to see you there....

  • We had Count Zappula in Northern MI, he was AWESOME!! R.I.P. Mr. Don Melvoin you are greatly missed.

  • Thumbs up if you searched scary.

  • Where's Fritz the Nite Owl!?! Otherwise amazing doc!

  • Before Svengooli during the 60s, we had our own Creature Features on WGN in Chicago,

All it was was a drawing of a phantom w/a cape & a top hat, and played eerie music before the movie came on?

But we looked forward to it every Saturday night!

Might be the reason people love scarey film's & hosts on the weekends?

So the whole work/school week will not seem so scarey? (sometimes is)

  • This turned out pretty good.

  • bok

  • the first video that has 1hr of duration I have seen here in youtube..

  • the first 1 min and 30 sec is already gay

  • @cranes94 I think YOU are gay.

  • I just wrote "scary" out of boredom

  • That is so true.I miss the host

  • Crypt Keeper wins.

  • stupid

  • must be way better than the crap hollywood has here such as transformers 2 , 3, etc etc

  • dr. shock in philly

  • The Hilarious House of Frightenstein... Canadian Scary?!?!

  • I think the reason they didn't showcase Dick Bennick Sr. (AKA Dr Paul Bearer) is because they can't interview him since he passed in 1995.

  • This show doesn't cover the southern hosts

  • Dr Morgus, and Dr Paul Bearer

  • "i bite, he sucks" lmao. terrible documentary. just sayin'

  • Sir Graves Ghastly!!

  • What a waste of time waiting to see the "Hiram & Sneeb" characters in St. Louis.

  • TTV four out of Indianapolis is web casting new shows on Friday or Saturday night of Sammy Terry for all those people in Indiana who got the crap scared out of them when they were a kid and enjoyed it......

  • Comment removed

  • Sammy Terry, Terre Haute Indiana (60's-70s), doesn't get any better.

  • @VulcanRider900LT Reruns in the 80's. I watched them and loved them.

  • @VulcanRider900LT I agree.. stayed up late watching Sammy Terry!

  • @VulcanRider900LT He was great. I met him in Indpls as a kid around '75

  • Copy And Paste Lil Fresh - Da Don

  • First thing I thought of in my head when I saw the thumbnail, "Pedophile"

  • were the fuck is Dr. Paul Barer ? i am pissed he was better than 3 of these hosts put together

  • @777nightowl777 I just mentioned that. They didn't even cover southern hosts.

  • Wow! San Francisco has WAY TOO MANY Horror hosts. But are we really surprised?

  • We have Wolfman Mac here.

  • damn america, you scary!

  • Blast from the past!

  • Where is Sammy Terry?

  • @Ashbuster85 Oh man, Monstervision with Joe Bob Briggs. That was the first time I saw Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome. That, and Tremors.

I got started when a friend of mine introduced me to the Ghoul when he was on the WB on friday nights, and then I watched the Son of Ghoul, which was on the local access. Great times. "THE POOP STICKS TO THE WALL!"

  • Oops, you seemed to have missed one, Dr. Paul Bearer in Florida. How many more did they miss?

  • @scottjo63 thats what the fuck ive been saying these guys are from hollywood you can tell

  • 1:09:24 I HAVE THAT SAME PIPE

  • I thought it was a movie, not some people talking :( 1 more dislike :(

  • @Bl00dnoob then you should read more

  • I still have a crush on Elvira, I must confess. She makes me think of the possibility of "Gothic Barbie".

I remember as a child watching a wonderful short-lived creature-feature show called "The Hilarious House of Frankenstein", and the macabre cast mellowly grooving to "Sugar Sugar" by the Archies. I suppose now it is buried in the vault with the rest of the undead celluloid. Rest in Peace, horror movie hosts, but stop by to see me in my "unpleasant dreams" every now and then, deal?.

  • What a great documentary.

When I was a kid in Atlanta in the early 70s there was a horror host on WTGS that called himself "Dead Earnest", a hillbilly vampire.

WTGS became WTBS and now is TBS, and rumor has it that Dead Earnest was actually Ted Turner.

I don't know if that's ever been confirmed, I never thought to ask him when I worked for him in the 80s

  • @georgiahoosier

sadly that rumor ended up being false. But I still wish I could see some footage of this dead earnest. Seems extemely obscure. Funny how when Turner turned it into TBS he got Grandpa muster to host movies and on tnt had monstervision. The man must love his late night horror shows.

  • Why do so many of them talk in phony British accents lol

  • far out! we never had these kinda horror kings and queens in Australia . in fact the TV used to close by 11 pm!!!. miss vampira had amazing life and lived with Tony perkins at one time, they had the same shocking, clever sense of humour... this is fabulous posting , thanks so much for this in site into a groovier, strange, cape wearing , fake cob web-by time.

  • I really like horror movies but I found those guys (only the guys) creepy and not really funny.
