  • I have a BOS and a Book of Mirrors. I really need to get a book of dreams. after i got deicated i had some very awesome realistic dreams. some are bad but most are really good.

  • You are SO right about different meanings in dreams, with your dog example. Those dream dictionaries are a total waste, and discourage people from getting to know themselves. Excellent point, well made !

  • What a nice video. :) Dividing things up into 3 separate books is an idea I had never even considered! I may have to think about moving some stuff....Blessed be!

  • Wonderful video! Thank you! :-)

  • Thanks for sharing -- I appreciate your videos. I think, that although they may be extemporaneous or off-the-cuff, these videos are laced or peppered with numerous helpful tips.

  • Okay, I have posted comments to 3 or 4 different videos already, but I am curious about your thoughts... I have a large tome to create my BOS once I am more solid in my faith; in the meantime, it's mostly on my computer. My question is this: My handwriting is really REALLY horrible (sometimes even I can't read it) so I'm planning to probably type my info and print out. I've been told by some that you should handwrite. Do you think it necessarily matters one way or the other?

  • You should try to hand write them if possible but typing it is ok. Especially if you have bad handwriting. You want to be able to read whats in it. :)

  • @fotogrl1 And remember that in word you can have so many beautiful fonts that makes it all a bit more cool ;)

  • love this - thanks so much! I'm just building my first bos now and keep it in a ring binder, for exactly the reasons you mention in the video. Really wish I could do calligraphy though because it's so pretty! bb x

  • That is a beautiful book.

  • I know that Scott Cunningham mentioned a mirror book in Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner.

  • your book of shadows is beautiful!!

  • Thanks for the video. I've got a dream journal by my bed and a book of shadows under my alter. because of your suggestions of writing your daily experiences in the dream journal, i'm going to start adding that to mine. :)

  • at least you dream and dont sleep like a rock and then wake up

  • mm I love the begining

mmm I love the pentagram you have on the wall

  • I'm new to Wicca, and I'm making my own book of shadows, binding and all, which I'm using to keep a record of all the information I've found on the religious site of Wicca, i.e. beliefs, documents etc. rituals and sabbats, and I'm also making a second book, a grimoire, which I will use for spells, and kitchen witchery recipes etc.

  • lmao loved the intro :P

  • these are amazing ideas! thank you so much :D:D:D

  • I think of it as a Spellbook.

  • In my book of shadow I only put important information I still haven't put any spells invocation etc. But I like the idea in putting things in a different books. So thanks for the advice

  • I haven't started my Book of Shadows yet (soon soon soon, haha) but I was planning on writing everything in that one book. But your way of writing dreams seperately and writing what happened during your day seems like a reallyyy good idea. I think I'm going to do that. This is a great video! Thanks.

  • I have a book of shadows that I used for my sabbats and esbats, but i also have a wiccan bible- which is filled with prayers and invocations, poems and spells and I carry it around with me in my bag all the time. does anyone else do this?. love your video.blessed be.

  • dose any one know if you get the book of shadows dose the spells actley work

  • A Book of Shadows is a journal to record your spells, information and other things. Whether your spells work or not is up to you. Just because a spell is in a BOS doesn't mean it will work.

  • hahaha hello Witchesssss... fricken awsome!

  • i was thinkin about makin a book of dreams but this has made me want to actually buy one this week...and did you know they have bible like books in barnes and nobles...there great for this kind of stuff

  • I enjoy looking at other peoples ideas on this topic. I don't like keeping my books separate, so what I did is stacked all my books (which were leather bound sketchbooks at one point) and then rebound them with a large leather photo album book. Each time a book is finished, I add it to the bunch and rebind them. Its a large table top book now because of how many grimoires it contains and its very personal. Nothing is in specific order, as each topic has been memorized. and sorted by age period.

  • This is the best advice I've been able to find! Kudos, 5 stars!

  • i also keep a book of mirrors for my thoughts, feelings and experiences ect.

    Blessed Be.

  • Cool vid, Blessed Be

  • Dose any one know if you get the book of shaodws dose the spells actley work

  • You put in the Book of Shadows what is in it. As far as the spells working, that depends on the person doing them.

  • @coolguymuscleman21 Its all about learning the right way for you and jotting in down within the empty pages within the book of shadows. In other words, You buy blank and fill yourself :) The spells do work if your heart and soul believe and if you have faith in the Gods/Goddesses.

Good luck and Blessed Be xXx

  • Excellent video and very helpful! I am thinking of making book of dreams but on it's on book and seperate from my BOS. 5 star ratings from me!

  • Hey whats up?? my family runs a pagan coven over in the u.k and I am thirteen this year. I am just beginning training, and for my 13th I am allowed my first tarot deck, a silk scarf to wrap it up in and a bag to keep it all in. This video was extremely informative, helpfull and generally your personal opinion was great :D

  • You Got Beautiful Hand Writing

  • Book of Shadows, Book of Mirrors, and Book of Dreams are tearms I've heard from one of the Dianic Traditions. I'm pretty sure those terms originate in the Dianic Trads.

  • Cool. Book of Shadows is universal, but I could never remember exactly where I picked up the other terms. Thanks for the info! :)

  • In the formalized paths yes having books will help. Having journals and ways to look back is good. For everything... erm I guess..

    Good video!

  • I think, Scott Cunningham wrote about

a Book of Mirrors. Well i myself have

many Book of shadows. The gardnerian,

the alexandrian, my own, my traditional

Wiccan One and two other BoS of Prayers.

  • I have made a book called Book Of silent screams.I also have spells that may just may be Voodoo I actualy have a book called Voodoo chanters Witch is a very relaxing thing well thats what I think.

So farewell who ever reads this you

    could do voodoo or wiccan

  • I'm starting a book to record my psychic experiences, dreams and related things. I know I've heard "Book of Mirrors" somewhere else before, but I dont know where. I don't know if I should call it that or not. I'm not planning on recording every dream just the ones that stand out. P.S. How did you come up with your Craft name and do you think its important to have one? Oh, and I know this is odd to ask, but do you have an affinity for wolves? Idk...

  • Very cool! It isn't that important to have a craft name. It is a tradition that stems from protecting ones self from exposure to the authorities. My craft name that I do not reveal publicly anymore because at one time was unique and some people have copied it. You can get a Craft name one of two ways. Choose it yourself or let the gods choose. If doing it yourself then pick a name that means something to you.

  • Allowing the gods to choose is done through meditations and vigils until it comes to you. Mine came to me during a vigil. I do not care for wolves much or dogs in general. However, I went to a spirit guide class once where they taught us to find and work with our spirit guides. Mine turned out to be a wolf. Guess what? I have had many gifts given to me over the years that have at least one wolf on it. I hadn't realized it until I got home and started looking at everything. Weird huh?

  • Great Video, very informative, great BOS too. I've brought a number of books from Witches Moon they are great people and as you have said they have got alot of cool stuff. Could you maybe do another video that shows off your BOS a little clearer it was really hard to see? Also I'm totally with you, about handwritting your BOS

  • Good informative video. One question. Where is the link to the place you bought you BOS?

    Blessed Be~

    Smiles

  • Thanks! Yep link is in the info box to the right of the video. Click on the more info link and you will see it at the bottom. :)

  • Sorry...LOL...I see that I needed to click on the "more info"...der....

    Thank you! :)

  • Hay bud, 1 your cam was just fine. 2 You have some realy nice looking books there. 3*hint*I have found some vary nice blank books that people can use for said book stiles at Dollar stores. And for a buck a peace thay can cover all three books that you stated can be covered way cheep. Just a hint there for people to save a buck. Nothing agents the web site or anything but if people are looking for cheep books to start with and keep there eyes open at some of thes Dollar stors can get some deals.

  • Thanks for the input! I like it when people put additional information on my vids. I've learned so much from the interaction with other youtubers and I think everyone benefits from more knowledge and insight.

  • No problems man, just trying to help. We from time to time talk about how to save a buck on craft items on our show. It just so happens that blank books that can be used for books of Shadows and where to find them cheep was one of the items. We try to come up with usefull stuff info like that.

  • i like the idea of a book of dreams, its a good idea. keep making videos, thier great.

  • You have a lovely voice. Thanks for the vids.

  • Thank you.

  • Good Idea about the dream journal, as far as writing what happened that day. I know there are some dreams I've had in the past where that would have been helpful.

  • Blessed be, cool vid, keep them coming!

  • Thank you!

  • I've asked other Witches this before and I felt I should ask you: Are you allowed to have more than one "book of shadows"? I'd always imagine just one HUGE book of shadows D8

  • Good question! Yes you can. You can have as many as you need. I forgot to mention that. Thanks for asking! :)

  • very interesting, my girlfriend, who also is wiccan, is making a new book of shadows, even the cover she makes new, gave her 2 books about making celtic decorations on pages, she was soo happy hahaha, but anyway great pointers there Neopagan ^_^

  • Very cool and thanks! What books were they? I would really like to learn how to do that.

  • i forgot the titles of those books but will ask on msn what they are, ill email you when i know ^_^

  • Thanks! :)
