  • So much for that new white stripes album. :(

  • @MrZilgen I hear ya buddy! No more White Stripes. Still not over that fact yet.

  • @savannahmiles264

No you cant shoot her just because you dont like her voice. What if i shot you because i dont like your comment, thats not how it works. You are the type of dirty person who starts wars.

  • I HATE HER VOICE, CAN WE SHOOT HER?

  • Benson: y'know ... :D

  • I reviewed Icky Thump as my latest album review. It's on my page if anyone's interested in how I decided the Stripes sound like the Veggie Tales pirates....you know...in a good way.

  • Don't forget Brenden.. He really is just as significant as Jack.

  • Where can i found the clip from the beginning, i love Jack with hat.

  • 2:30 WOW, Brendan looks so much like Kurt Cobain in that picture! Not saying there's any real significance to that, but it is a little creepy to me:S lol

  • Pat looks like my cousin :P

  • How has a comment saying Jack White and Brendan Benson are the modern day Lennon and McCartney got 73 thumbs up?!?! What a pile of horseshit! They're good but sweet Jesus in heaven that's a bit of an overstatement

  • Broken Boy Soldiers came out in 2006...

  • @leedaddyroberts it was written in 2005 dildo and it was released very early 2006 get ur facts right... i got it the 2nd day it was out sometime in january of 06

  • @saybyebye22 Dude, I don't even remember why I put that comment on here haha. But sorry man, I guess I was wrong even though you said yourself the album came out in 2006, even if it was early 2006.

  • Dude looks like Donovan Frankansteiner.

  • 10 people are wandering this earth without knowing how truly great the Raconteur's are...sad face...

  • I had NO idea Jack was in The Raconteurs. AWESOME.

  • what do you call that type of hat that Jack is wearing?

  • @PastaCheifFilms i believe it's called a "fedora".

  • don't know if they're that different but they talk exactly the same way

  • GETTING SICK AND TIRED OF THESE ADVERTISEMENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Jack White was better at White Stripes...

  • @ZapfSzmata yea i love the white stripes, he seem to me pretty mainstream in racontereurs

  • @Groove1993 I have to agree that the good White Stripes tracks are much better than the Raconteurs tracks, but the Raconteurs have some very beautiful songs. So I won't ever judge Jack White for going commercial or anything like that, because selling out does not deliver songs like Call It A Day, Yellow Sun, Old Enough etc. Sure, Steady, As She Goes can be seen as quite commercial, but no more so than Seven Nation Army (they are quite similar songs). Either war Jack is God

  • @theunisfick23 cant argue with that ;)

  • why is the woman yelling?

  • Great band, shame about the silly American bint talking.

  • Against Me! in the background of the interview. I love it. haha

  • jack white=modern neil young

  • @stewartakaryan Thats's a really apt comparison. I never thought of that before, although at the end of the day, I think Jack White is most like a modern Jack White. Still interesting though.

  • Jack white plays from the soul. Lady Gaga sings from the wallet.

  • @olliedabomb999 Of course I completely agree with you that Jack White is light years better than Lady Gaga. I'd just like to point out that, in my opinion, there are artists worse than her, like Justin Bieber. Also, I think I can respect her a little more, because she admits that what she makes is "soulless pop music." Just my opinion. : )

  • When was this, anyone know??

  • I wish they would keep together, I admire jack for all his project, I understand he wants to keep adding new sounds but they had something here and I hate to see it go.

  • im starting now to hear the racounters and i would love ot know the name of the song that open this vid, with jack singing and on piano!

    thats just wonderful!!

thanks for your time and sorry for bad english!!

    chhers!!

  • @vvisions You Don't Understand Me is the title. It's track 3 on the album "consolers of the lonely".

  • @AndrewSzczurek thank you very much for your answer! im sure im gonna buy this album!!

have a good night sir!! =D

  • please, im starting now to hear raconteurs, and i would like to know the song name that opens the video (with jack singing and playing).... i would like to hear that exactly version of song jack is just incredible doing whatever project he start!!

    sorry for bad english =X

  • Jack reminds of someone I once knew . . .

  • Man, I wish I had Jack White's creativity and will to do as many projects as possible.

  • Rack in tours

  • BEST STACHE EVER!!!!

  • I don't understand how one person can have so many projects and keep them all up. Jack must be some kind of super hero. lol. he's amazing, I swear. No matter what band he's playing with today, he's probably starting a new one tomorrow!

  • I'm glad we have musicians like Brendan and Jack.

  • DETROIT!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @tomata182 and Cleveland

  • check out my channel for more vids on chord progressions and melodies.

  • Haha Thrash Unreal in the background.

  • Hi tell me what do you think about my original songs and covers :)

    And please Suscribe !!!

    And I will suscribe back:)

  • Pandemonium44...some other good bands these days are Pinback, Queens of the stone age, The Arctic Monkeys, and Silversun Pickups are good too

  • jack white!

  • Brendan and Jack are the shit... hans down.

  • The modern Lennon-McCartney in my opinion.

When I was sick, it's all I would listen to, and that's seriously what I think. I hope they record more stuff.

  • your an idiot. and your opinion is shit. jack is the best guitarist of our generation, and an amazing song writter also has one of the most unique voices ever. brendan is an excellent song writter, and has an amazing voice. In 30 years they could be considered even better then john and paul.

  • @43kinnear yea but the scene in which these duos inhabited in their own time isnt the same. dnt get me wrong i love the racs but they dnt have the breakout in musical history like the beatles did. british invasion for example.

  • @43kinnear jack white and brendan benson will someday be considered better than john/paul? wow. i think both jack and brendan would laugh their asses off at that ridiculous comment.

  • @moronsINglasshouses "When I was sick"?? You need to listen to Otis Redding and Steve Cropper.

  • @moronsINglasshouses

I love Jack White and Benson just as much as the next guy, but it's a bit unfair to equate them to Lennon-McCartney. Their musical influences and lyrical content/messages are utterly different. Also, you must consider the fact that Lennon-McCartney 'made' virtually every other following rock n roll group possible. I just can't put JW and BB on that level.

  • @moronsINglasshouses you should check out the Jayhawks too if you haven't already. Also Uncle Tupelo, Son Volt, Lucero. Just in case you hadn't heard their shit yet?

  • I see it, but it's good in a way. A unique take. Unlike someone like Oasis, who seemed to be fans & less original.

  • @moronsINglasshouses

    lol, that's a bit of a stretch isn't it

  • I love Jack White, and his associated acts. Scew pop and the rest of that corporate fraud B.S. for all I care.

  • @TheDeadEnemy helllllllllllllz yea ma nigga. i like where ur heads at.

  • i love his moose-tash

  • brainwashing them into thinking that anyone can make music...I mean every actor or actress that gets a part on the disney channel releases their own album...it's really starting piss me off

  • @cochroach10

oh dude it`s pissing me oh, too ^^

  • I'm only 17 and I completely agree Tom...I'm always trying to find a new band to listen to...because all other bands seem to lack just a little something....Brendan and Jack are two of the very few special artists we still have left in the world...I'm getting just about sick...litterally sick...of hearing about pumpin booties, lickin lolly pops, and showin off yo chains....that shit isn't music...It's making people dumb...

  • Exactly. I'm 17 too, I'm constantly looking for new good talented songwriters and bands too, jack, brendan, radiohead, sigur ros and muse are "new" bands that I've been listening to.

  • I'm 38 and I feel as out of touch with pop music as a 70 year old. Everywhere I turn is another musical fraud being force fed down my throat. I can't escape their retarded culture, music or fashion. I do take solace in knowing there are true artists like Brendan around but I worry our culture is sinking...fast.

  • yo what do you have against 70 year olds?? haha jk

  • Why does the voice-over preface everything Brendan says by summarizing what he's about to say??? It's not like he's speaking another language:S Anyone else notice that? It's like the reverse of Susan Serandon's character on "Galaxy Quest": "No, we have no berilium spheres on board.":P

... and only the other music nerds who are also regular nerds will get that lol

  • Great Gretsch.....

  • who the fuck cares about how mainstream a band is? listen to what you think sounds good, nothing else matters.

  • Tonx101, everyone has his goals as a musician. My goal is to fulfill me artisticly and to earn enough money to live a modest or decent live without luxuries.

Only a dream, but I try it.

The thing that counts, is be honest with what your playing, otherwise the only interest would be something purely material.

  • This might be something subjective.

Everyone has his preferences as a musician.

  • You can hear Against Me's "Thrash Unreal" in the background at 1:20.

  • Whats the name of the song they are playing in the start??

  • "You Don't Understand Me" Jack's piano solo is amazing.

  • you dont understand me!!!!

  • stop shouting bitch!

  • Rory gallagher, Jeff Beck, Robert Fripp...whatever

  • The Raconteurs: Consolers Of The Lonely!

Broken Boy Soldiers was not a good record, but the second is!

  • no bbs was good just to unmainstreaam for u

  • jajajaja too unmainstream your idiot.? I probably listen to things that you never heard of.

The first record is the Mainstream one, In fact, most of the people know the first one and not the second.

Listen to The Mars Volta if you want something of Avangarde, you dumbass, Raconteurs are mainstream till one point.

  • no the raconteurs are very un mainstream they have one song on radio

and i doubt that u do listen to "stuff ive never heard of" probally cause its crappy college shit tha is retards crying bout how they got dumped

also this is one of the few non metal bands i listen so dont get to me buout un mainstream

  • I said "till one point".

This means that they are naturally not as succesful as other musicians, but indeed with one song "in the radio" they are mainstream. And they are, because the critics and public vote in many magazines named them and praised them.

about the crappy college shit I can only say that this may be not the truth....

listen to TMV and we shall speak. Even they are a little bit mainstream.

Do not think that you have and extendet knowledge of the music, that would harm your ego

  • define success for a musician

  • They are many terms wich would determine the "success" of musician.

    1. Putting record out, they do not earn money with that, but at least they fulfill an artistic dream.

    2. Just giving concerts to have a name as a musician.

    2. To put a record out and give a couple of concerts to earn a little amount of money.

    3. To give a lot of concerts bringin' a record out.

    4. To have enough money for self-producing, to be under the name of a big record company....

    etc...

    there are endless posibilities...

  • exactly so who the fuck do you think you are that you can go on and rant and rave about which muscian is successful or not, jack white i think counts himself successful because of the work he did with the white stripes damned the raconteurs. I wont sit by and read your comments proclaiming a musician as successful or not due to how "unmaintstream" or not they are. Music isnt about making money (yes half a loonie[50cent] im fuckin talkin to you) its about the people that you connect to

  • You are right , in some way.

But that is only one posibility (connecting people), there are endless.

And so sad it is, would you dare to ask mister White if he does not mind if he does not win some money with his concerts?

You can do a lot of things without asking for money, but only if you already had enough.

It would be a fine World without money, but so sad this is, money is what keeps a lot of people publishing they records.

    Otherwise:

¿how do the live and pay the recordings?

  • through your music, and i swear most of the music industry got that twisted so its no wonder we have to sit through hours of akon and lady "i want to suck your dick" gaga on the radio all day at work.

  • brendan rocks a tache :)

  • hahaha. frusciante? wow...

it's like you don't even know how to play guitar...

  • ha ha your right its howard moon

  • Wasn't Broken Boy Soldiers released in 2006?

  • Jack is Jack, Jimmy is Jimmy

  • brendan looks like howard moon

  • Brendan rule. <3

  • you dont even know how to spell JIMI hendrix. and your order is fucked up

  • First of all i typed that comment in like 5 seconds disregarding proper spelling and i just typed jimmy page, second of all my order is an opinion.. so its not "fucked up"

  • Obviously your list is biased to guitarists with names starting with J...

  • It's Jimi/Jack, then the rest.

  • hendrix is 1st, no question

  • LedStripez

Are you REALLY arguing that Jack White is 4th on your list of the alltime great guitarists??

  • The way that was stated it seems like the White stripes should have put out a record before the Dead Weather. If they are working on one, I hope it comes out soon. I've missed them. Bensons new album is great BTW, was happy to see his new album out. Pick it up, if you don't have his other ones, get those too. They are fantastic.

  • I'm digging My Old, Familiar Friend. I don't think there's a bad track on the album. Been playing it non-stop all week.

  • whats the song at the beginning??

  • you dont understand me

  • 1. John Frusciante

    2. John Frusciante

    3. John Frusciante

  • wow...your a tool....hes a crappy ripoff

  • 1-jimmy page

    2-jack white

    3-johnny thunders

  • gay

  • 1-Jimmy Page

    2-Steve Vai

    3-Jack White

  • idiot

  • sick tele.

  • lol against me is recording in the backround

  • Thought I recognized that song.

  • wait... when was this taped... cuz plz tell me i heard her right when she said "new white stripes album"

  • yeah, i heard that too!! i really want to know!! because.. it's after consolers of the lonely.. and she metions the new band which is the dead weather... so, there must be a new album coming.. i guess..

  • against me! is in the background!!

  • i know!

  • What is that strap he has at 1:27 ?

  • I dont know but i F***** want it!

  • thats a guitar strap, all guitarists use them, it holds your guitar up when you stand.

  • good answer smart ass =)

  • well i wanted to type a question mark as a response but it said that was too shor t so what?

  • hammerfall?

  • I love Jack <3

  • what is the name of the first song in this video ? (Jack is singing it)

  • you dont understand me

    off "consolers of the Lonely"

  • it the james bond theme

  • What's the James Bond theme?

  • idk look up jack white and alicea keys they made it together

  • jack white wrote the song

  • No.

I'm well aware of the theme song for Quantum of Solace.

I was wondering why you said "it the james bond theme"

  • cuz its a james bond theme

  • No its not.

  • im not a huge fan of dead weather....but the white stripes are coming out with a new album so its all cool

  • Really?!?!

  • r the white stripes realy coming out with a new album??

  • yeah they are, i think some of the tracks are already written. jack says they'll be recording this autumn or winter sometime, when hes finished with his dead weather commitments :)

  • newer than icky thump?

  • WHITE STRIPES!

is the new album icky thump though?

  • Icky Thump is their newest album

  • Comment removed

  • what are you talking about FroogleDoop? Meg White is so poor drummer. Look at the Raconteurs drumming- it is real drumming. Meg has own style-ok, but it is still shitty. And in doesn't change...

  • meg isnt the best and im a big fan of the white stripes....

but jack...holy crap.....hes an awesome drummer....check out the version in dead weather on conan!!!

  • I am a drummer and agree that Meg is not the best. Despite this fact, I think it works and am still a fan of the White Stripes. Jack's guitar and songwriting skills more than makes up for her.

  • As a drummer, I like the Raconteurs the best, but overall I feel that the White Stripes are better. I wish Meg would open up with the drumming.

  • but if she started drumming like she was travis barker it would go againest the simplistic drumming that sets them apart and makes them sound unique

  • No, I am in full support of the simplicity, don't get me wrong. She gets out of time over and over again and displays many little problems that I had when I was first starting out. She's been playing for years -- she should be better than that.

  • against me! playing in the backround live

  • BYBERRY STATE is band from philly influenced by jack white. They have a vid on youtube.

  • gypsynature

That's a great band name-byberry state. You from Philly? Byberry was a mental hospital that opened around the early part of the 20th century. It's been shut down for years. Creepy place. We used to sneak in there when we were kids. Lot's of shady shit went down there. I'll have to check that band.

  • there isnt a new white stripes album coming out in 2009 fyi :( . Jack has made a new band however called 'The Dead Weather', whose album comes out this year. :)

  • how do you know theres no album for 09?

  • well you can reasonably assume that he wont release two albums in a year, seeing as hes touring with the dead weather in autumn.

  • poor meg eh.

  • we can still hope though, because he produces albums damn quick. The White Stripes album could come out in winter and they could tour during spring or summer. I miss Meg though. I also feel a bit sorry for Karen, as her man's always out being a musician. Surely she'd like him to stay home one day and do the gardening? :D

  • yea i remember seeing in a white stripes old interview jack white said it took him only a few days to fully record an album.

  • yep icky thump took them the longest and it still took only 3 weeks

  • Actually, he said himself in more than one interview that the Stripes album is top priority for him right now, and The Dead Weather won't interfere with that.

  • That woman was annoying and shouty, but good for Brendan to get an interview.

  • Her voice gives me VIOLENT chills.

  • Yeah, it's very high pitched...

  • The last 2 posts about a new WS album...any merit to that? Would be awesome if true- ?

  • they've released albums like clockwork since 2001, every two years. no reason they won't do it again in 2009. woo!

  • Holy mother of god- new white stripes album.

    Thank you GOD!

  • ....a new....white stripes....album.

    sweet holy mother of god.

  • what is name this first song?? pls

  • you don't understand me
