i dont know about you but i dont like those breaks, i got em, original pad sucks, i bought swisstop brake pads and it still sucks, it doesnt brake like deore or some other brakes in that group, tell me your opinion about those brakes, tnx
I have just bled my brakes, so i went to test them, before i got on it, i spun the wheel nd braked, everything was ok, so i got on it and then braked few times but then suddenly the brake pads are braking on the rotors, they didnt let go with the rotor and the lever is now impossible to be pressed, can anyone help? Sorry if it doesnt make sence :D
@13woj13 it might be the lever body need's lubricating on the o-rings. Open the lever pull out the parts wipe them down and lubricate the o-rings , re-bleed.
f..... piece of shit. you buy a kit and get few drops of fluid, tiny plastic bottle and few cm of plastic hose. and where the hell is this compressing bushing? hose comes off immediately, brake fluid is everywhere and your calliper sucks air. awesome...
@finnrambo1 hey how are your hayes nine brakes working? I'm laughing cause I have the same ones. I've bleed them over 10 times in 2 years. Awesome power for 2 weeks, then bad lever feel for 2 weeks, then lack of power. It's really fun to bleed them, isn't it? I'm getting new ones this week. Hard to pick though. Hope, Avid, Hayes?
@lifeisgood070 those hope brakes got good reviews, I've found the hayes nines not to be too bad for the shore but at whistler they're horrible, I eventually got sick of it and got shimano saints, and shimano m505's for my hardtail and really like them great modulation and even the lowest end m505's are still more powerful than my nines
Watch out when you pull the lever during bleeding, you can risk reintroducing air into the master cylinder. What he doesn't tell you is that they have a check valve on the hose to their catch bottle, so they can flick it as many times and air can only go out
hey i was wondering if you could help me i changed the pads in my stroker rydes and now my break does not work at all it just comes right back to the handle bar and nothing happens. ?

As 33,50€ is a rip of u`r body and this video cost my caplilar rear side Don`t never use a tool into u`r Capilar so he does in his video whit his tool use better a pease of
woor 20mm u`r pistons go`s easy inside Im a fool and broke my both pistons
this video is for a new Hayes not a year 2008 cube bike
U`r idiot this is not for all the hayes nine only for new ones I broke my whole hydraulic system because u`r movie not all brakes you can put the piston back whit a wrench
I haqve to tank you very very much now I need a whole back system 120€ before that
I buy a bleeding set from 20 € no more than a bottle,a hose and a little oil ,,one niplle people look out this are brakes bring this to u`r dealer and spend some more lots of people ask are these for Hayes nine ??? there are a lot off nines
@danielbahia i wouldnt its viscostity is probably too thick and itll make your brakes feel sluggish its best to use the branded fluid .. i.e shimano works best with shimano branded mineral mineral oil so play it safe and use hayes dot 3 or 4 fluid
Worst bleed kit ever - do yourself a favour and buy the mag compression bushing too if your unlucky enough to have to do this or prepare for a big mess and fluid in your eyes - potential health and safety nightmare!
what an absolute load of balls. I've just spent 18 quid on this kit and it's worth about 49 pence. I caliper tube kept slipping off spilling brake fluid all over the floor, and when I did finally get them bled they still didn't work. Rubbish kit, rubbish brakes.
This was much better than trying to read how to do this in the manual. Once you've go the right equipment (i.e. Proper fitting spanner and bleed fitting) , it's actually not that difficult to do.
Yes you could go and get it repaired professionally but you may have to wait weeks ...
As a substitute for the compression fitting, I used a ziptie and it worked well. Zip tie the hose, place the hose over the bleed screw, then pull the zip tie as tight as you can. Then just to make sure it's holding the hose on the bleed screw tight, slide the zip tie back up the hose right above the bleed screw, then pull it one more "click," then compress it back down over top of the hose and bleed screw to ensure the tightest fit. It holds very well and no spillage.
OK- I just used a standard 1/4" brass compression bushing from Lowes. I had to dremel it out a bit to fit on the bleed fitting. To really get it locked onto the fitting, use some pliers and twist it on down. The hose would still pop off my syringe and spray brake fluid everywhere.
The 6mm box wrench was a real bitch to find- especially if you don't want to buy a whole set, which I wound up having to do.
do you know if the hayes so1e calipers have normal fittings eg do the bolts that hold it on point towards the disc? or does it mount like the one in this video
@rutheg1nger dont man they are pretty shit. get hayes hx9, they are cheaper, more common (spare parts, might be able to get second hand) and better power and modulation!
I just bough Hayes Bleed Kit Hayes Pro 98-23572 for €35. WHAT A GARBAGE. The bottle with oil jumps off every time.

@chrisq1w2e3 Sounds like you got air in your line somehow. Any air will kill the brake. You may have to rebleed the system.

Would it be too much to ask for the mag compression bushing to be included in the bleed kit.
As £20 is a rip off for the kit as I lost count of how many times the hose popped off the niple mid bleed.
