  • i wanna hear some beats with that thing.

  • I notice yor qchord has a guitar strap attached-but to what? Mine doesn't have any where to strap it on. Also what voice setting are you playing on?

  • @Suelorie yeah those strap pins are kind of odd, but they came stock with mine., I'm using a flute preset from the library, which you can access by pressing some buttons, but I don't have the Qchord anymore to tell you how it's done

  • This is fascinating.....yet also very sad at the same time.

  • hay can you plug the Q in an amp?

  • Yes you can, it has a 1/4 inch audio out jack

  • 1. it's not a keytar, it's an electronic auto harp

    2. you are supposed to hold it like an autoharp, but then again, What's important is to have fun with it anyways... So rock on dude!

  • Dude this is one fucked up instrument. (in a good way)

  • HAHAHAHA LOL :D

  • Mine was very inexpensive, but I have seen them go for $150 dlls and upwards on eBay.

  • Is this instrument very expensive?

How much it costs you? :O

  • Does the strum plate work with MIDI? ie: Can you control external instruments with the strum plate or are you just limited to the keys

  • It does work with MIDI, but it will just send a note on/note off.

  • So it will send the notes (which are in whatever chosen chord there is) that you strum on the strumplate (as on/off, no velocity etc)?

PS Thanks for the quick reply :)

  • I was going to buy one of these but after looking and listening to several tube vids I think this instrument is going to have the same fate as the accordion When you go to heaven you here harps when you go to hell you here the Q chord! uhhgggghh

  • Read your manual and experiment. If you don't have a manual you can find a PDF version on the web.

In my opinion, the sound he's using isn't what's important here. It's his technique on the strum plate.

Way too many people strum the entire length of all the plates, and often use sounds that don't work well.

Tapping out rhythms, rather than 'strumming' is much more affective and realistic sounding. Try it with different sounds, and patterns and also with the 'styles' as well as without.

  • There are about 100 more voices on the Q-Chord than those stenciled on the front panel, I used the flute setting, but I don't remember how to access them, just got to the Q-Chord site.

  • Very cool. For those (including me) who would like to practice duplicating your techniques and the sounds would help if you could tell us about which voice # you are using and your other settings. I think this is great. Keep up the videos. We Q-Chord users love to see and hear them in use. Thank you.
