uhmm. i'm using AE7.0, i tried to search for the keylight for this version. The website says: "Keylight 1.2v10 is bundled with AE CS4. Keylight (1.2v1 and 1.2v2) for After Effects 7 is no longer actively developed and will not be supported from November 2009." hmm.

Theoretically yes. Green is chosen because it works best. Digital images is typically stored with three color channels: red, green, blue, because of that the three colors is more often used as it is more easier for softwares to analyze. Green is used more often. There is also the blue screen that is mentioned here fleetingly. Red can also be used. You can even use the three colors together to mask out different parts.
