  • SAY NO TO MAGAZINE SAFETIES!!!

  • I plan to purchase the SR9C, the SR9 and SR40. I do not normally carry a striker fired weapon as a EDC but I have the SR40c with no issues. The firing pin indicator was moving loosly because the weapons firing pin must be removed prior to presenting any weapon to a SHOT Show IMHO. If you have an issue with ANY firearm SEND it back to the manufactor, it is just that simple. I also plan to purchased the SR22 when it becomes available and funds allow.

  • It did look as if they was trying to hide the pin on into to video. But it could have been because the firing pin was removed. As some have said . ? Good shot thou.

  • Thanks for the video. I was about to get 1 but something told me to hold off. I wish the TV shows that showcase guns would have a fair and impartial review on guns but they turn out to be nothing more than commercials for gun companies. I also saw the nutnfancy clip where he had to send the SR40 back for malfunctions and Ruger's explanation was a "barrel malfunction".

  • @4Tcal over 1800 rounds thru my SR9 and i never had a problem yet

  • i like how they notice the thing in the back came lose and started to fall out and they covered it with their thumbs the rest of the interview

  • I bought mine two weeks ago and only have a couple hundred roun ds through it and i love it.

  • Have had numerous failures to feed with my gen 4 Glock. Don't trust it and going to get rid of it. Had a gen 2 and gen 3 and only time it jammed was when I limp wristed it or it was VERY dirty. I heard the S&W M&P is excellent. Might give that a try.

  • @billwright331

Try a Sig 2022 or something similar. They have polymer grips like a Glock. They give a bang for the buck. I've had one for several years and never had a misfire or mis feed. the new ones have a lower rail for lights or lasers. Very easy to field strip,clean......

  • the new glock gen4 has alot of problems with jams stove pipes and brass hitting you in the face,,,,ruger has always ben a better built gun then glock just wont shoot a tight group at long range like glock,,i love my p95

  • this clip dillibers a bullshitt!!!!!! thats all wat a joke if there was anything wrong with this gun those proffessionals of guns wud reveal it any way. and they nevr gonna use a gun with a mecanichel problem to an audience

  • GOOD CALL. RUGER MAKES GREAT REVOLVERS! I STICK WITH THE GP-100

  • Lmmfao funny ass shit the firing pin almost fell out, not the most impressive review especially if its been out for a year

  • great gun, like mine allot.....I also like my others, glocks sigs etc....

I'll put the SR9 against any of them ...make no mistake about it the

SR9 is a super accurate excellent gun and its USA made and 400 bucks....

  • How did this flaw get past Ruger designing? Scary!

  • @thehotsixer It's not the first one, to be sure- they had to redesign the hammer in the Blackhawk SA due to the possibility of firing when dropped. Otherwise, having owned Rugers, I can say that they're outstanding guns.

  • should have gotten a glock, end of story.

  • @SSSDiaz7 Amen...

  • @SSSDiaz7 your an idiot....just read the highest rated comments im not even gonna explain

  • I bought a used SR9 a couple of weeks ago, i love the pistol good angle excellent accuracy and 17rd mags, how ever this thing throws alot of material out of the ejection port my arm is covered in gun powder, maybe its realy my only guess. Is this a part of the recall, it never jams even with shit ammo. All of my other pistols dont leave my arm covered in debris. It also has massive amounts of material inside after the range almost like its not chambering all the way, any guesses?

  • Didn't Ruger have the same problem with the LCP?

  • The sr9 is perfectly fine they have fixed the issue.

  • @ThePapacut the pin sticking out just has to do with the firing pin being removed for the show. The pin is visible but never sticks out of the back like it did in the show. The recall was for the trigger assembly. It now has a trigger safety similar to the glock to prevent it from firing when dropped. It is an excellent gun that is equal to or better than the glock 17. The only thing that convinced me to sway towards Ruger over Glock is the fact that it is made in the USA.

  • Try one. It is an outstanding firearm.

  • his tie looks like bacon.

  • XD RULES!

  • loverst2- just because you cant afford a GLOCK does'nt mean they suck. It just means you are gonna have to stick to yer airsoft a little longer, LOL!

  • i have this weapon[post recall] and it is a dependable accurate gun.safer than a glock, and made in the usa

  • the recall wa because of the trigger, ruger since replaced it with a glock style trigger, meaning it wont go off unless you deliberately pull the trigger back all the way.

  • That was a demo gun with no real striker in it. At shot shows they have to be safe thats why the cocking indicator was floating free there nothing wrong with the guns post recall.

  • Loolz he shoved that striker indicator back in with his thumb lolz!

  • they dont stick out that far anyway.. they have something else in there.. its definately not factory for the show.

  • I tried to make my glock jam by not cleaning it for two months. it still never jammed.

  • CongratuFuckingLations

  • @Blanckmeister I own a glock 31 and have put over 1,000 rounds just for the hell of it to see if it would jam after the 1,000 round mark, after 1,000 rounds I rapid fired 100 rounds, not a single jam. Same with my Beretta.

  • @SSSDiaz7 dont count on that with the gen4

  • @CREAMFILLEDANISH85 gotta tell ya, but your right, my brother in law has a Glock 19 4th Gen, and oddly enough it has jammed on average about 2-3 times every range session of 200 rounds. its mostly failure to extract, or a half way extract that shoves the spent casing side ways as the other pushes behind it. Could it be the heavy duty dual recoil spring?

  • @SSSDiaz7 and how many time has the brass hit him in the face ??,,i have herd its the spring but i have seen a video on hear with a guy taking his gen4 and grinding down a small bump on his trigger asem, you would have to look it up but he claims it fixed it ,,the first thing you will notice on the gen4 is the trigger pull is harder then what glocks 4.5lbs pull is when you buy the other older models,,i know now that this has taken place i will not buy a glock,,,,now i am getting a p345,,lol

  • bla, bla, bla just buy a glock, or if u can afford it, buy a sig sauer.

  • pfffft, glocks suck....

  • Glocks suck? Yeh thats why people have put 250-300,000 rounds through them on the standard barrel.....and they dont jam

  • I have but 500 rounds through SR9 in a rapid fire setting had no problems and only did 500 because the camera wasn't on for the first part of the it was 1000 rounds. nobody noticed.. had no problems with jams or malfunctions.. was using PMC 9mm 115gr..

  • Yes there is!!

  • are you an idiot dodo? any weapon at the shot show needs to have the firing mechanism removed. the rod coming out the back is just a plastic filler to keep there from being a big hole in the back. duh

  • To get a gun in the door at SHOT you need to take out the firing pin. I assume its something like an AR bolt and won't go back together properly without the firing pin. This video seems to just be a diss on Ruger.

  • @offshorebear if it were because the firing pin it would have looked better for them to say hey this is because of the firing pin, not try to cover it up.now dont get me wrong i like ruger my first gun was a p85.i would still have it if it werent stolen.

  • @dwdavis73 It's pretty standard at SHOT. Do you want every video to spend the time explaining that there is no firing pin installed?

  • Maybe you should post those pics, I would like to see them! I have a SR9 black stainless. I have run over 2000 rounds through it with no hickups what so ever. It a a very accurate gun!! Maybe you should practice more. squarecnix in my opinion the SR9 is a lot better gun the the P95, I have owned one. The p95 is bulkier and was not as accurate as the SR9.

  • Comment removed

  • yeah, It's for show. Period.

  • what are you people morons!? forst off, it is called a striker, not a firing pin. second, the real striker was removed for the show and that black rod is just placed there for asthetics so there isn't a hole in the back of the gun. the firing components NEED to be removed for the show, that is part of the rules at the shot show. duh...

  • you are indeed correct, my thinking is when they removed the firing components from the pistol it allowed the striker to sit losely in the hole, I see no issue being its just an example and the problem is due to lack of all the parts but it still looks bad on camera hense them covering it up.

  • I think the firing pen stuck out like that because he lifted the chamber indicator up so high It happened about the same time if watch it close

  • what do you guys think of the O.D Green? Im on the fence with it,just wish it was alittle more darker!

  • i like the O.D green but the grip shape is difrend from the other sr9's strange

  • that od green is fckin sick!! i saw some sr9s on youtube before but this is the first one ive ever actually been like dammnnn!!! i was lookin at the p95 before. which one is better u think? what is double action all the time mean tho..

    and it wasnt recalled

  • Seems like a hybrid of Glock, Springfield XD and the 1911. Nice firearm.

  • I believe they took the firing pin out for the show, therefore allowing the pin sight rod to move freely. The defect was in the trigger mechanism which is now replaced with a "Glock style" bladed trigger. Excellent pistol and great features!

  • On April 9, 2008, Ruger recalled the SR9 model because under certain conditions it can fire if dropped with the manual safety off and a round in the chamber.

  • it was a display model and somebody prolly' fucked with it. sometimes that shit happens, alot of guns have has accidental misfire recalls. thats why i like the 1911 grip safety

  • That's amazing-I think you're right.

  • What they did to fix them was they put a trigger safety on it similar to what Glocks have...

  • they probably took out some spring so it could definitely not fire in the middle of an interview or to conform to rules of the show.

  • are all blow back guns autoloading? like colt and thats from like 1911 and correct me if im wrong but there making a big deal out of some this like over 100 years old im talking bout autoloading

  • I love this gun

  • The new ones are supposed to be fixed. I still wont buy one until they establish a little more reliability. I'll buy a Ruger P95

  • What a bunch of crooks!

  • hahahaha this fucking idiots.

    yeahh good video

    i don t want to buy a sr9.

  • Rugers drool and Springfields RULE!!!!!!!!

  • yea that was a waste of 2 minutes . you didnt show anything

  • what!? are you and idiot!? all pistols at the shot show by reglation, have to have the firing mechanisim removed, in this case the striker, that was just a plastic rod designed to fill the gap and keep there from being a quarter inch sized hole in the back of the slide, duh. yeah 'he was trying to cover it up' alright...

  • Does Ruger have their own youtube page?

  • That firing pin tail just kept getting longer and longer, like Pinocchio's nose!!

  • I got my SR-9 back today, one week turnaround. New trigger, new magazine release. Much improved trigger. Got a free 17 rd magazine and some other goodies. Nice job by Ruger. I was pissed off at them, now I'm over it.

  • bought one last week, hit the range yesterday and put 100 rounds through it. I love this gun.

priced great, accurate , lightweight, easy to break down and clean. Great gun!!!!!

my first round downrange at 25 yards was direct bullseye.

  • I have an SR9 and I love it. Still waiting for my box though.

  • Ruger took the striker out at the show for saftey reasons, looks bad until you know the story.

  • dude that thign was broken but the guy did a good job of continue. atkleast he wasnt like "umm it appears our new pistol is broken, can you come back later?"

  • lol

  • It's the third week in July, still waiting for the shipping box. New SR-9 s are coming off the production line, so apparently they have fixed the drop fire problem. How about fixing the guns they have already sold!

  • No NEW SR-9 are being made as of Aug 10 2008. They will make them again.. but need to finishs the recall of 20K+ guns

  • The latest issue of American Handgunner features the SR-9. Roy Huntington, the editor, told me in an email that"the new ones are fine". What is he talking about if no new ones are being made? 20K defective guns is a hell of a lot of defective product. They should clean up that backlog before any new ones are made. never trust a gun writer, they are merely hacks for the company.

  • That is just what Ruger is doing. Fixing the recall first... then they will make the NEW SR-9 that is not 330-x. I would GUESS in the next 4-6 months Ruger will start making the SR-9 version 2. Again there is NO new SR-9 at this time. 20K was just a guess I have no idea what number they where up to when they stopped.

  • free mag when your pistol is fixed after sending it to the factory as well

  • Called Ruger Customer Service on 6/23. Was told the shipping boxes will be sent to gun owners at the end of June, first part of July in order to send guns back to the factory for the safety recall. Guns will be fixed in order of first to register for the recall, first served.

  • well, its all really sad about this whole thing because ruger is such a great company and im sure the sr9 is a great pistol.

but if its in the trigger assembly, why can't the company send out assembly replacements?

  • @oldeafcoot

I am a fan of Ruger revolvers.Have owned many, even when they weren't popular.Their semi-autos are a different story from my experience.I've had 22's and 9mm's and have had loading problems with them all. not saying they can't be fixed,i hate having to send them to the factory and waiting months before i can shoot them.

I'm not a big Glock fan but would go that route first. My shooting partner is a Glock nut.I've shot a few and they shoot good.I prefer a Sig for reliability.

  • No problem, glad to help

  • The striker appears to have been removed from the gun because it was being presented in a show, a safety procedure, but they left in the indicator (what you see sticking out). Without the striker the indicator would just flop in and out, as seen in the video. The recall is for the trigger assembly.

  • ahhh man! I thought I had something here! but thanks for the information and I am thus more educated. I'll still keep it up because it is an interesting video what with them holding the indicator down

  • I've a SR9 for quite a while now. I too am still waiting on my box to submit for the recall. I love my gun and can't wait to get it back from Ruger when I send it off.

  • Ya I called them about when they are sending the box today and they told me that it was delayed and they should be sending the boxes this week or next week..

  • I have a Ruger sr9 stainless and still waiting for them to send a box...
