  • I like the guitar and the song. It's a bit like the cure, dark and melodious, nice.

  • Ian has some talent no auto tune for this dude!

  • eww

  • Wait. Is this a joke? Like Spinal Tap? Am I dumb for even asking that? Yes. Obviously a joke, people.

  • is this suppose to suck like that? i would rather listen to jeff buckley

  • this is such a good song, great job guys

  • I like it, sweet song, turns and twist like a good retro song. Ian keep at it. Man what are you doing now.?

  • Ian is good wow.

  • Wow that was great rouph blueprint

  • Why in the world would the fabulous Spricket24 attach her name to this video?!?!?!?!? What. Was. She. Thinking?!?!?!?!?!?!??!?

  • I loved it. It was beautiful. The song, the lyrics. The vocals and the music were so amazingly written and played aesthetically well together.

  • Thanks Momo, and great job Ian! Love ya both!

  • sounds a litlle like jeff buckley if not a lot.

  • the whole time i was forced to watch this i hoped it was a joke. stick to acting,.... please

  • way to go kid!

  • Hey Momo, what u did is quite cool...but somehow Ian reminds me of someone being drugged. :-) Just what automatically crossed my mind.

  • I'm surprised...it was really quite good!

If it had shots of something like the city lights, or something other than just Ian, it would have been perfect.

But it is still a keeper.

  • I thought it was a parody! :D

  • What's the buzz about?

The tune doesn't stand out much and is reminiscent of trippy Donavan era. Other than that, 4-6 hrs with someone who knows a Mac is totally realistic. I don't do videos but it only takes as long as playing the tune to put one to tape.

  • holy shit........Ian Crossland.....an artist?

  • I have to agree, Ian's voice sounds a little off when it comes to hitting the notes. However for a 4 or 5 hour job this is pretty good, I'll bet some high paid recording artists couldn't even get one song done in that time. One thing that really interests me is how based on the recordings before the song and other videos of Ian he seems to see the creation of this song as a mathematical formula as opposed to art. It seems to have almost worked and I'd be interested in seeing him try again.

  • I thought this was really cool to see. It wasn't mind blowing, but there is some kind of empathy esp going on. Momo was working from what he could understand.

  • this is quite gd for a DIY thing

  • i tihnk he's the kind of james blunt guy, but as far as im concerned he probz got more ballz and melody than him nice one

  • lmao more talant that James Blunt? yeah sure. Hey and isn't cutting yourself better then sex?

  • I'd say way more talented. Blunt is a puppet.

    Ian is a real artist.

  • *deep breath*

I want to be constructive here.

I think the photography was well done, and I liked the visual contrast and color scheme. That being said, and as a person who used to watch Ian's videos, I just don't 'believe' him here. I think he over-romanticizes and idolizes Jim Morrison, so it's difficult for me to see anything here but emulation. As far as Ian's voice, he needs some work. An out-of-key style of singing can work, but IMHO, it doesn't here. Didn't dig the lyrics either.

  • Love it,

    Nice work everybody!

  • This is the kind of raw, unwashed genius that only Canadian/American collaborations can pull off. Even "The Life And Hard Times of Guy Terrifico" will stand in this shadow of this art. It will be but a slightly overweight ex-girlfriend weeping in the toilet stall of yesteryear. This is big. We're on to something big here.

  • This touched me. I won't say where, until I contact my lawyer.

  • who is ian crossland?

he has a very odd voice,i don't like it.

why's everyone talk about this guy on youtube?

    i don't get his appeal.

  • wow, massages simply light on. thx and peace.

  • Great Job!!!!!!!!!

  • i liked the chorus alot ;D

  • Thank for letting me see you work. It is work that I have fanaticized about my whole life. Sometimes we can just live vicariously.

I know the joy of fishes as I walk along the river.

  • Feels like Marky Mark recording in Boogie Nights

  • this was pretty well done. good job guys

  • who says thaat the video is gr8. its just medium, I wonder people's tastes..

  • holy crap ian, not bad, now, if you could only keep your mouth shut. :P

  • Not bad!

  • okay not trying to be mean or whatever but seriously, he's tone deaf. I as a real musician feel insulted by this, however I commend his trying and well shoot that's more than I've done so yeh... I wanna say it's great.. fact is, the video was shot AWESOME, the musical talen has a lot to be urm.. yeh.. it needs like I dunno a new vocal ability? take care.. great at shooting the video tho really great. Next time use a real singer and it'll be awesome.

  • Naw I beg to differ, I expressed my opinion, I wasn't trying to be mean. I was stating what I see as my OPINION there is a big difference if I wanted to be mean there where plenty other segments in this video I could have spoken about and poked fun at and really could have been as you say "mean" those are YOUR standards not mine, I was rather nice in my comment compared to many many others I've seen on here about him and his music. I was giving constructive criticism. Sorry You took that wrong.

  • Lovely video. That Ian is so cute. Love his voice too.

  • i loved it, it was awsome man message me where u guys at i would love to help im looking to make some vids for u tube.....man this vid rocks u guys have good hustle lol for 6 hrs.

    -josh

  • The shots of him looking up, looked really awkward. His voice was really not all that great :/ Not to be rude. Sorry :/

  • Its Ian Crossland. Its supposed to be bad. Ian is a good guy but kind of a joke.

  • Cool song, nice voice, lovely singing, cute artist. Keep the music flowing~

  • Wow.

  • This is actually quite nice indeed. Didn't even know Ian that well from the Tube, but I really dig the Cocteau Twins inspired guitar-sounds. Who played and produced/mixed/recorded that?

  • Great song and great video... and Spricket24 ROCKS!!!

  • Nice. Has a very mellow "chilling at a friend's party" feel to it.

  • FRICKIN' AWESOME!!! ;)

  • Nice! I subscribed. Spriket24 was loving on you guys so I check you out and I am happee!

  • great stuff!

  • noT realy my cup'o Tea

  • Not my usual music fare, but I really appreciate how amazingly well done all of this is.

The arm positions and expressions at some points seemed kind of awkward, though--kind of like Ian didn't really know what to do with himself in shots that close up (which is odd, because he never looks awkward in his videos). I'd really like to see him do more music videos as amazing as this one, though, because I'm almost sure it was just a fluke.

  • Excellent video, beautiful song, well done guys

  • DAMN. I'm so freakin impressed.

  • what the heck is with the nose against the glass thing... lmao

  • Bullshit baffles brains I always say GOOD JOB!!!

  • 4 hours? That was awesome. Do the Doors next.

  • Beautiful, great job on everyone's part.

  • Nice!! Nice work , nice song , good job!!

  • Wow, Ian you sing great!

  • sounds great dude.

  • great melody, great words, nice editing job all around. cool ideas with looking into the cam while moving around. also, Ian has a great look. the only minus I found was in the mix/ articulation. Many of the words could have been articulated more clearly, and the vocals needed to come up. but overall and awesome job. 4 1/2*

  • I was a little skeptical at first but this blew me the fuck away. You guys really knocked me dead with this. It looks as good as anything on MTV and sounds 10 times better.

  • Humm,Im sorry you feel that way but i would love to see a high school student who never recorded in their life do a recording and video from scratch including all the editing in 6 hrs. What have you done in the last 6 hours. For a 21 year old with no subscribers and no content you speak pretty loud. This was an example of the power of now .Take a deep breath and take a look in the mirror and think about actually getting something done instead of bitching at some one who is.I wish you the best.Momo

  • Momo you are a true inspiration, keep up you artist investigation into the human soul. Your doing it man! A Marcel Duchamp of the the Youtube. Peace.

  • Nice love when people like you share all the details.Congratulations you have it all.All you have to do now is learn to love your self and find some one who loves you for who you truly are. I am debt free also but i am helping people with it not flaunting it in their face .Anybody who has to justify themselves like that is really miserable INSIDE.TRY LEAVING A LITTLE MORE MYSTIQUE YOU JUST GAVE IT ALL AWAY NOW WE KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU. Nice to meet you too KEEP ON FLAUNTING AND GREASING.

  • Some people live thier lives to make money, so much money that they lose site of the bigger picture...Life! It eats them up from the inside out and all you have left is a shell of what you want to be, and you find contempt of the people around you. Let go man! It will kill you in the end. All you will have when you die is your memories and your friends, so thats what I would start to invest in. Peace.

  • "last year I cleared $403 after tax".

I cleared $404k last year. I'm 150% debt free, people owe ME money. I learned how to snowboard last year, and won competitions. I drive a Burt Rutan X-Prize winning aircraft. Beat that Mr. Grease Man.

btw that's a completely wrong usage of the "squeaky wheel gets the grease" phrase. And yours doesn't even make the least bit of logical sense, even before you take it to a metaphorical analyzation.

But I still <3 you. I genuinely hope you are happy. Peace

  • Jeez man. Your jealousy splashes all the way down here to Johannesburg. You are a very sad person... I hope you can see the light one day...

  • claustrophobic

  • good deal

  • I don't like the bits with the nose against the glass and would have liked to see more variation, including the girls etc, but all in all well done, great editing, excellent audio and some good shots. :-)

  • This video really needed to be featured on the front page. it just hasn't had enough views

  • ok.

  • I've heard Ian sing in his video;s was very unimpressed.....This is impressive! , excellent production work. Ian sounds good! I was very surprised.

  • I actually legitimately like this music...it's good!

    I'm impressed!

  • Ian saves.

  • I think you've captured the true Ian ;)

  • This is surely based of David Brents single that he recorded in the final episode of the office.

  • YES YES YES!!!! And Spinal Tap...the girl needs to ask if it will be recorded in "Dubley" LOL! Good call on the David Brent, Tom!:D

  • SWEET!!! great work;-]

  • Ian can do a lot better,if he is not stoned out of his mind...

  • hi. nose smooshing is in.

  • Ian has a young Jim Morrison vibe going on and the song is good too. The video on the other hand is fucking awful.

  • I love the song. But think that the video should have had other stuff going on in the background and that Ian should have been the focal point less. Letting his music speak out more and letting the imagination do its own work, or at least have other focal points such as 'the muse' in the video.

  • MOMO the video is OUTSTANDING.... its so great!!! wow 6 hours !! that was fast!! i noticed u used an expensive cam also...

  • dude this is a joke right who is that singing..

  • This is really a pretty song. Ian sang it well, nice video.

  • oh yeah and dude who is narrating this, GET RID OF THE PASTIES MAN , get off the coke!

  • this IS a joke right, lol

  • Great job! Thanks for helping out my boy! He really needed this for a "confidence booster"

  • i really loved that.. a theme in the music video seems to be the way his face can change: when his nose is smooshed against the window and when he is out of focus, spinning around with the camera.

    really awesome...

  • Hey jw1980 with all due respect to your opinion, life is not that complicated.this video was made in 6 hours including the edit, recording the song and doing it all on the fly.I find that people who think to much usually are all thought and no action.I work with the power of now and thats what this exercise was all about. Most new artists could not do what we did in 6 hrs in 6 years.Lets stop thinking too much and start acting on our dreams. Thanks for your comments.Peace out MOMO

  • Funnily enough, it comes across as well as many professionally made pieces of 'pop music'.

  • A kid singing about life when he has had little life experience. Perhaps Im just a little anti Ian as I find him irritatingly pretentious at times, but the video was very well made.

  • are you telling me that there are

    2 Mr. Doody Heads?

  • Ian is a talentless musician/singer but this video was put together quite well.

  • OK, so I'm not a fan of Ian's, but I have to admit this song is good. I've had it in my head for days now. I'd like to see it remixed to smooth out some of the vocals and released for download. Damn it! I hate to be proven wrong!

  • This is Fucking Rocking Man Yeah !

  • Holy crap, that was startlingly good!

  • Great first draft! Suggestions:

More shots of Ian & the city. Punch up "And you see me..." chorus-- sing like it's a matter of life & death. Who is the character Ian is playing-- is he obsessed and crazy or in love? The shots where he is looking at the camera didn't seem to fit with the others. Was the blurriness a technical or artistic choice? Frequent Mesure-- purposely spelled wrong? It was interesting to see Ian leaning on the window looking out and then outside the window looking in.

  • Way to let it be! Very nice

  • youtube pseudo pselebrities. 5 *'s !!!

  • Crossland in his own music video? Wasn't there something in Revelations about this?

  • Yes. And it shall come to pass after the chariots of fire have been extinguished in the sky, the philosopher shall transform into a musician for music is a language everyone can understand.

  • loves it!

  • Holy shit! This is fucking priceless.

  • Better than most of the crud on this week's top 40. Good job, Guys! Thanks for sharing.

  • Good stuff guys. His voice reminds me of Jeff Buckley

  • Oh I could slap you.

  • Amazing

  • you guys nail the coffin of commercial pop music

  • Holy Crap. Not bad Ian! Very impressive. Good work momo. Spricket! You were in LA and you didn't call? HURT! haha. Just kidding. Kinda.

  • be still my heart

  • that was good craftsmanship in the recording and mixing. I wish my first demo sounded like that. lol I'd ask if you could do my next one, but I don't think I can afford you.

  • NEW:

    silvercoffeesurfer does MOMO FROM THEMOMOZONE

    Enjoy

  • Not quite. Doesn't quite make it. A near miss?

  • music videos are hard to do sometimes. trying to make something that is in-sink with someone else's vision and art and trying to catch in just a few minutes what the song feels like can be tough. good job! never knew Mr Crossland could sing so well.

  • This is so inspiring. I am going to do something now.

  • Haha holy crap Ian! Go out and celebrate your debut and the success in your future! That was amazing man, and Momo you guys rock! Great job. Just don't change man, stay awake and free, and there's no limits.

  • I was very impressed. Seeing the vid of him in tears in the limo gave this vid much more depth. Almost like you can see into his mind at the time. I think this guy is breaking through to a new level when he completely drops the artificial highs and become fully pure. Fully Ian.

  • He seems very Professional to work with. From and Art point of view. It was great. Like anything I have seen on MTV.

  • nice work on the video portion - lighting and editing were tasteful. Nose on glass shots seemed odd to me though. Ian did a good job and the backing tracks were quality without overwhelming the vocals. Nice to see Ian enjoy himself and create something too.

  • okay this went in my favorites great job to all the had a hand in this!

  • I've always thought Ian's singing was pretty bad when he did it on his channel, but this was fairly good!

  • Nice song but I'd like to hear it with someone who can sing better. Also, the shots where he's looking into the camera are a bit creepy. But I really like the song. Who wrote it?

  • Fabulous Ian and MOMO! Love! went to faves! I will share!

  • Really good actually. Hard to believe it's Ian Crossland

  • Is it supposed to be frequent mesure or measure? Cool song. Reminds me of Jeff Buckley type songs... mood wise.

  • Exactly the computer I'm interested lately...

What got me most is that what all did Ian went trough to make this possible...From the lowest "sheet" to this amazing stuff.

Beyond Cool Momo!Ian you Rock! All respect & support!

  • Just amazing. You really focused his energy and this came out really well.

  • it's hard to believe that's ian.

  • Nice camera work. ^^ All fitted together really well.

  • I really like the ambition of everyone and I like the song as well, but I find it very confusing . Is it meant to be taken as a serious song or a humourous one? The lyrics are serious but the faces and things that he does, like pressing his nose on the glass and even smiling at teh camera ( during serious parts of the song ) are really confusing. I'm sure you know what you're doing , but there's my opinion. Bless you all, krissi

  • Great song! Very very cool Video! I hope Ian takes this further!

    Momo you rock!

  • I really enjoyed this version better then the other one! Awesome job guys!

    Much Love,And Many((((Hugs))))

    Sheryl:)

  • Good song. Good video.

  • Have a funny feeling I'm gonna be saying this quite a bit from here on it, but... damn. :) Totally blown away, totally blown away. :)

  • So intense. Yowzah.

  • Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I loved that....

  • Wow...this is seriously amazing!

  • awsome work dude. as always something amazing comes out of a little hard work.

  • Wow Momo you're really good at putting things together! You really know your shit! Ians song was good to!

Well Done! Can't wait for more!
