  • Really?

  • imagine these cars without having any sound? are we not used to "Hear" cars before we cross the streets, dont we tell our children to hear for teh cars? EC's without any sound will cause accidents!

  • @bubububu175 what a load of bull lol

  • @bubububu175 assuming you're not trolling (and even if u are, many speculate about this, so I'll answer), we all teach our children to LOOK both ways before crossing. Also, cars traveling even at 30km/hr make pretty noticeable tire noise. And I've heard a lot of pure gasoline cars make next to no engine sound when cruising at 50km/hr (loud tire noise is all I hear).

  • It's good option for these one who doesn't like Jet Engine Sound

  • Ha Ha, that guy bought a super expensive fast car and was like: "Danm it! I still feel like I have a small penis..... maybe if I make it louder....."

  • I'd like to have speed synced sound choices like steam locomotive, various Star Trek and Star Wars vehicles. The real function is to alert pedestrians but teh fun factor is a plus

  • Seems pretty pointless for an electric car to have.

  • Why why why? The turbo spooling/jet engine sound is much better IMH.

  • The main reason they added the engine sound is safety..Imagine this car running down the road absolutely silent, and a pedestrian could easily just jump to the road, thinking there aren't any cars..It's to let others know that there's a car nearby..

  • Ok sound on an electric is a good thing. A V8 sound is a crime. Make a fucking unique sound for electric cars. Make is fucking scream. But do not make it sound like something it is not.

  • @clevername333 Yea like the Alfa Romeo 155 or Opel Calibra at their screaming 14k rpm motors!

  • @clevername333 You got a good point there.. :) Maybe it should be something that resembles electricity..It's gotta be unique..

  • The sound of an electric motor is pretty unique. Makes it sound/feel fake with a sound module in it.

That's not to say I don't love a good old conventional V8 either. Each to his own, but they both sound great to me...

(On a separate note, the Roadster already has a rear wing/spoiler. Why did this guy add another on top...? Herpaderp.)

  • Looks like an childs toy car now...

  • Sounds alright!

  • What a stupid idea.

  • I see big profit for ringtone companys :D

  • The reason the sound is added is because these cars are quiet- people don't hear them, so they added a noise not for pleasure, but for safety of others.

  • So ein Blödsinn, der Tesla ist gerade deswegen so gut weil er diese Steinzeit-Geräusche nicht erzeugt.

  • OK, if you want your Tesla to sound like it has a V8, why don't you just throw a V8 in it?

  • @SakoTGrimes cuz then it wouldnt be electric...

  • doesnt this kind of defeat the purpose?....

  • that is so fucking dumb!!

    electric sounds better........like raw power.

  • OMG i can hear horses out of every car... let it be what it is!

  • ill-conceived and unnecessary

  • wow.... brabus really sucks for putting that thing there...Tha is so tacky!!

  • NSX vs Tesla on a track. NSX wins

  • Can they add a smell module too? :)

  • Nonsense.

  • LOL, ridiculous. Some people just cannot live without the noise.

  • Ich sage nur - Lärmfahrer sind hörbarer...

Denkt an all die Fußgänger, die sich nur auf ihr Gehör verlassen ;-)

  • this is sick lol

  • what a waste of a perfectly good tesla

  • @minaspan

    fucktard

  • I agree with your "No sound, no fun!" theory bud.

though, I have a honda too. but this sshit accelerates like hell!

  • I have a TL, I love Honda/Acura but dude, the Tesla roadster would smoke an NSX. You don't know what you're talking about.

  • The tesla electric engine sounds 1000% better, sort of reminds me of the sound a turbo makes when it spools up, or a jet engine.

  • That's cool!

  • That sound module thing is just plain retarded , in my opinion.

What comes next? Adding the stink of the exhaust of a conventional car?

  • I know right thats just retarded! It was cool on pimp my ride when they made a mini van sound like a lambo but electric cars r awesome cause how quiet but fast they r!!! =D

  • thank you for saying what every reasonable person is thinking.

  • @Arc91

its for safety..... people in the streets can't hear a eletric car like others cars .....you can hit someone don't hear you, in eupora is a good exemple estatistics prove that!!

  • @lioakira

that is debateable. Especially the Brabus sound module, which was obviously not created because of safety reasons, but instead to mimic a conventional sportcar - and that is DEFINATELY retarded.

"For safety reasons" it would for example make much more sense (meaning, save much more lifes) to limit the max speed of all cars according to international speed limits, or to integrate breath sensors so drunk people won't be able to start the car.

And I certainly don't see that happening.

  • @Arc91 the sound module is a total fail, i think, the tesla sounds like future, like an electric car with power. :D

  • @Arc91 Imagine you are blind ... you cant hear the Tesla car is a because is very quiet, if by chance the driver doesen't sees you can be hit by him, this sound module will not be used only in tesla but in almost all the electric cars

  • @xlhoube I admit that this is a factor, altough a minor one. I don't really think that visually impaired people are as much endangered by electric cars as some sources want to make us believe. The problem is that they are USED to cars making noise. It might be better to change perception than to change electric cars.

But seriously, if EVs do have to make sounds, then they shouldn't try to imitate conventional cars like Brabus here does. I'd rather have my car sound like an X-Wing or something :)

  • @Arc91 Yeah X-wing should be a great sound... lol or an jet fighter :)

  • @Arc91 well it's more like a big finger to all those petrolheads who thinks that the V8-sound is a must for all supercars out there

  • @Arc91 and i think is very cool.. In today videogames we have all raceing sports cars engines sounds and it's nice to ears - so why we don't have put this solution in real car with electric engines whih don't have any sound... - I think all costumers should have a choice when buying what sound of engine do they want to have in their new electric car.. To get the sound for their ears whetever they want..:) it's great..:D

  • @Arc91 yup, nice answer...

  • @Arc91 Its also uses alot of power witch means that you will get reduced range

  • Don't get me wrong, I like the sound of a good V8. But whine of the electric motor seems way more appropriate for this car.

  • Good for you, really you seized the moment XD and this is quite a news too.

But i totally disapprove this "simulated V8 sound-thinghy" the last time i saw a similar mechanism, it was applied on a Toy R\C car...'nuff said -_-

  • Why do people insist that v8 v10 sounds better? I personally LOVE the jet engine like pure sound of Tesla. Next to that, gas engines sound like a choking smoker next to an Olympic athlete.

  • I agree, some of the leccy bikes sound like tie fighters or mini jets

  • @TheBishopSSR Because we are PURISTS SPORTS CAR!!!!!!!!!!

  • @TheBishopSSR

    watch?v=s0DNpG8xAK4

You cannot say a tesla sounds better than that.

For me, you lose a lot of the exitment you get from a car, if it has a quiet engine like the Tesla.

  • @TheBishopSSR

    ever driven one??

I have, and I don't like the train like sound....

  • I think the sound of the electric motor is better.

  • an amplified mic to the motor with amplified speaker :D

  • Please install a sound module from De Tomaso Phantera that would be better..lol
