  • Good to see another singing drummer.

  • just..... amazing. no one has this talent today. it is very rare. i am sooo stoked to see them on august 12th!! <3

  • @TrainingStream....saw both bands in '83 and '84 respectively. It was no contest. Night Ranger was superior by a long shot. Leppard was wasted, out of tune, and sloppy. The Hysteria tour was MUCH better.

  • 6-15-2011. It's no bore. Brad Gillis is 54. Happy Birthday, Brad. Night Ranger will always be one of my favorite bands. And to you wanna be's of today, take note: THIS IS HOW IT'S DONE!!!!

  • @mkl62 Great post , and very true !!!!! I met Brad before a show in Cleveland , he was a very cool dude . Talked and gave me a pick from his wallet !!!! Brad , You rock !!!!

  • @bahashawa1 Unfortunately, I have never seen them in person. I've been to a lot of concerts. I went to several when I was in the Navy, stationed in Norfolk, VA (Oct. 1986-Apr. 1990). Night Ranger came through one time, but I either had duty or was out at sea at the time, but that was part of the package and I knew it going in.

  • @mkl62 I hope you get the chance to see them , they are awesome . Great talents!!!! Sorry to hear you missed them while on duty . I am a guitar player , so I love watching Brad and Jeff , they are great together !!!! Take care man !!!!

  • Gosh Groban's first band.

  • It's ok at best. Grew up with it & I call it main stream pop. Nothing special, nothing awfull.

  • Night Ranger and April Wine are the two most talented, uncelebrated bands in the history of rock and roll. These guys need to be in the Hall of Fame TODAY!

  • @acerman66 you are absolutely correct ,It was great ,and clean music and the stuff today is pretty much alot of noise..so sad..

  • Seeing Kelly keagy sing this song in concert was a treat then, and brings back some great memories. As you can see he truly enjoyed perfoming this for the crowd.

  • Wow! Give me a can a spam and a paper sack!!!

  • Takes me back... such good times!!

  • Awesome band! Saw them in 86!!!!

  • Better than the album version!

  • I miss the days of co-lead guitarists, melodic guitar harmonies, and bands that actually wrote the music they performed.

  • this is rock of 80's at its BEST< I saw them live and IT was as good as this as I remember, with the Bullet Boys and Cinderella, Great fucking LIVE BANDS, really good

  • I FORGOT HOW FUCKIN GREAT THESE GUYS WERE

  • well uhmmm, Zakk Wylde has talent, Pantera has talent to and uh Ozzy has talent, but Sharon doesn't, and uhmm there are some bands that suck your right, like Limp Bizkit, oh almost forgot Megadeth has talent, G N R has talent, keep going? or is that not talent your thinking of?

  • Night Ranger was my first concert, 25 years ago today. I love these guys still!

  • Loved this song the 1st time I heard it & it still sounds fresh. When u look at the make up of this band it was almost an accidental supergroup w/ not 1 but 2 amazing guitarists, 2 of the best of their era and beyond, each with a unique sound of their own, a natural frontman in the ever charismatic Jack Blades, a rock solid drummer/ singer combo in Kelly Keagy and the rock & roll version of silent Bob on keyboards. And on top of all that Blades and Watson had the market cornered on puppydog eyes

  • how about krokus, twisted sisters, motley crue, saxon, MSG, def lappard, vanderburg, ufo, rainbow, truimph, ac/dc,and etc. well they are all esthablished before 2000. i don't think any new band after 2000 can match night ranger. furthermore most new bands today did not produce this type of rock ballard, what a sad thing, as SLADE said in thier rock song "My, Oh! My".

  • some of those bands were great in the 80's...now these days they are hard to find..let the good times roll

  • When did Will Ferrell start playing drums for Night Ranger?

  • Nice song

  • They sound as good live as they do on their recordings....you can't say that about alot of bands. I've heard some bands where I wonder if they even bothered tuning in the same Key if at all. And never mind harmonys... live they totally suck. Im guessing it took 100 takes to get it right in the studio on their recording. These guys do it almost effortlessly.

  • Jack Blades has the talent. Where are the songs? Where did he go? We need a Hero for the new millenium. If Old Navy can bring back clothes from the 80's, why can we get a band a singer to do the same?

  • I love this song!!! The lyrics, the music, Kelly's voice . . d) all the above!!! Thanks for posting!!! Carry On!!!

  • "A song that will last for a million years"

  • @bucksmycar Yes sir, i agree totally timeless! nightranger were simply class.

  • Singers that actually played instruments! What a concept! Today, most only know how to dance and lip sync.

  • i just seen these guys a few weeks ago. in a little town called wendover. and they fuckin rocked!!!!!! they have lost nothing in all of the years of playing. i would rate it a 10 out of a 10 thanks Night Ranger.

  • i seen Night Ranger last night and they KICKED ASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

  • Rock N Roll GUY'S

  • Wow, this song takes me right back to the Fall of 1983 when I was a 19 yr old young buck in love for the first time with his first girlfriend who turned out to be the town skank but I didn't that until three years later after she put me through hell and went on to what she thought we greener pastures until she got pregnant and then suddenly I was the person she was in love with!! Sorry Shank!!

  • Todays music sucks...sorry kids, you lose again.

  • A classic song!!!

  • Is it unusual to have a drummer as the singer. I would think it would be extremely difficult to do both? Rock on rockers

  • @Quazisong they have 2 singers like styx!

  • @Quazisong Phil Collins is one.. Don Henley from the Eagles is another. Both great artists/singers.

  • Great memories...

  • Love this band, they rock. Need more of this music today.

  • Is that Will Ferrel on the drums??

  • Hahaha,...LMFAO!

  • Who the fuck has talent like this today? Name any band past 2000. Goodluck!

    Rock on Night Ranger!

  • and how many drummers who arn't the lead singer can pull off great vocals like that!!

  • @ToomBurger Don Henley and Phil Collins.

  • @acerman66 The answer is "no one". Rock on Night Ranger indeed!

  • Can't... they don't exist... yet

  • acerman66-Night Ranger owned Rocklahoma '09. Got to meet Brad Gillis backstage just before they went on. They were incredible - better than years gone bye. Totally agree wiith you about today's stuff..it just isn't and never will be.

  • Only the greats that are still playing like Rush. ;-)

  • @acerman66 dream theater?

  • @acerman66 Fates Warning? High Flight Society? Thousand Foot Krutch.

  • @acerman66 2000 ? how bout past 1990, love this band !

    Rock On !

  • @acerman66

Dam straight, a drummer and leads singer, who the fuck can not see how good this band is and was and still the fuck is..

  • @acerman66 its because the musicians of this era just don't have the same passion, they care much more about the money and fame.

  • @acerman66 If I could, I would drag every major music producer in LA and NYC into a big room and ask them, "What in the Hell happened to pop music in the US in the past ten years?" The crap that is produced now makes me want to vomit.

  • @acerman66 Dream Theater!

  • @acerman66 check out my band. we're not this good yet but we're not selling out either

  • @acerman66 check out my band. we're not this talented of course but we're working toward it and for sure not playing modern pop or anything like that

  • @provorenegade i like the sound of your band! just need to practice a little more on the rythm and vocals but you got it man :) good to know there's still someone out there keeping the old school music alive

  • england anytime???????

  • Happy Birthday, Kelly. You have been one of my favorite bands. I hope that you all can come to Columbia, SC or Augusta, GA to perform sometime. Many happy returns.

  • Only The Special Amongst Us Can Truly Appreciatte This Song, She Was The One Who Could Sing Me Away

  • killer....kelly keagy nails this song....

  • found this by chance, made me cry reminding me of days when i was young and in love.

  • @squidgitmidget I know exactly what you're talking about. The days of youth when life was simple and carefree.

  • Alright, bulldog867, so, what did ya think? I had a great time-except for the heat! Personally, I thought Night Ranger blew everybody else away!! I got to meet Brad Gillis just before he hit the stage and Stephen Pearcy of Ratt outside their tour bus. Both were very nice and absolutely gorgeous! Hubby's already signed for next year! Hope you enjoyed yourself, too!

  • I went to high school with Kelly Keagy-small town school, so we all knew each other very well. My friend Tamara(Bitsey to us) is the girl he once knew as a schoolboy-they were very much in love but starcrossed. They are still good friends though.

  • Awesome! Just got my band t-shirt...the lineup keeps getting more and more incredible...Warrant, Vixen, Great White, Ratt, Skid Row, Twisted Sister, Metal Church, LA Guns,......toooooo many to list here. Can't wait to finish my last week of finals..ughhhh-the timing sucks but I'm still pumped & ready to partehheyhey!

  • Intended for bulldog867!

  • that so makes me want to be naked on the windmill again , ty sin

  • I was *that girl* how cool is that?

I will love you forever kc!!

  • Bless the 80's. Rock on.

  • Best time ever memories are comin' back in July guys....

Rocklahoma!!!!! Jani, Brett, Night Ranger tons of the best...ck out my hubby's band--Lickity Split gotta be there

  • Wow, they look like a bunch of kids

  • Talented kids you mean

  • Jeff and the twin guitar of Brad are unrivaled!

  • my favorite band in the 80s The first record was amazing night patrol every song its a classic on that album

  • what a performance!! perfect!

  • kelly has a much better voice than jack any day of the week!

  • apart from sundays :)

  • hell yeahh! Kelly was the Night Ranger voice, Jack wasnt bad at all, but Kelly was better singer

  • Comment removed

  • Madonna yes..... U2 .... not so sure......

  • Such a great song! I love NR, always have. :)

  • Still better than anything ever put out by U2 and Madonna.

  • @tdolz This band sucks compared to Def Leppard in 83, so who cares.

  • @TrainingStream you suck

  • @JourneyRocks81 fail enough.

  • Pretty awesome!! Check out Tom Butler singing Sister Christian, Slide, and wishing his son's a Merry Christmas... And subscribe to our channel okay!!

  • incredible song !! love night ranger !!

  • Man, was Kelly's voice on point during this show. Wow. Awe-inspiring.

  • This was such an awseome album (a big round black thing made from vinyl) I wore my tape out listening to this song so much! What memories

  • LOL @ having to describe what we had back in the day. :D I wore all my tapes out too. Great memories.

  • Oh me too! I had this Night Ranger tape and played it over and over and over again!!! I always have loved NR too. As for memories? Oh heck yeah! Great memories of great days. I'm with you on that one!

  • This song is one of the best songs that NR has created. Something about the lyrics and music that has so much energy. It's a total 80's classic and reminds me of the good times, 'back the day.' God Bless Night Ranger. . .Always!!! Thanks for sharing this awesome video!!!

  • Brad took the late great guitarist place (Randy Rhoads) when OZZY needed to find a quick replacement circa 1982. Jeff and Brad are also awesome at what they do and Night Ranger's music can really soar as is shown here. Saw Night Ranger open up for the band known as .38 Special in 1983. Both bands put on a very exceptional show. Look 4 "Robin Hood" by 38 Special. It is an awsome instrumental song that really shines when played live with Jeff Carlisi and Don Barnes complementing each others work.

  • I saw Night Ranger open for KISS way back, right about when Dawn Patrol was released. They were an amazing, I knew they would hit it big...one of my favorite bands. This is probably my favorite NR song, I would love to have the guitar tab.

  • Great take sharkcofee. I remember Gene Simmons saying that Kiss needed to step their game up to compete with NR. What a freakin' compliment.

  • Back in the day (80's) These guys cam to see our band after one of thier shows, we asked Brad up to play, after he signed my BC rich Bich with a screw driver on the back side, still have it. )

  • Probably one of the best underrated bands,at least talent wise. I mean with Gillis/Watson you can't go wrong. I love these guys.

  • Kelly Keagy is one of the nicest guys I ever met. He's so down to earth and just loves to play. When he's not rockin' NR, look for him in a group called Scrap Metal. Pretty cool shit...lots of vids on Youtube.

  • You know, I was really jealous when this song was picked up for Ferris Bullers Day off. Especially since Kelly was singing lead vocals. For all of you Night Ranger fans, we thank you for being the best Rock fans in America. We're currently on tour and hope to see you soon. Jack Blades. Night Ranger

  • No worries, Jack. Kelly got to sing lead on a lot of the hits, but your fans love you a ton. And don't tell anyone I said this, but you're better on the bass player than Kelly ever was on teh drums. Are you coming to Arizona any time soon?

  • for sure about that.you must really have it together to pull that off

  • Remind me to start the band I wanted

  • N.R simply brillant!!!

  • gawd i love NR all of these new groups don't stay togather past 2 albums and have to have someone eles write there music for them.

  • born in 1990, I wish I were 10 years older, just to see DEf and Night !!1

  • I saw NR play allentown NJ in 83' for the midnight madness tour. Great band, Dawn Patrol is my favorite album, I tried to upload two songs off it in the past, no video, "call my name" and "at night she sleeps", I haven't seen those two on you tube and I would like to get them in last time they didn't upload.

  • correction allentown PA is what I meant......

  • Thanks for the post. Have seen NR back in the 80's and a couple of years ago. Had to be the most talented band back in the day. Shame music is not written and played this way anymore. One of their best songs!

  • one of the best shows I saw as teenager in the mid 80's.

  • This song ROCKS.

  • this is flawless, wow

  • It's nice to be reminded that SOME 80's bands sounded great live.

  • Hazard's mom here... don't panic, I'm not going to bash any one. :)

Great music, outstanding guitar!! I remember this concert from listening to it night after night trying to sleep. 'Sing me Away' put me out like a light. (I taped off of the radio way back when it was ok to do so.)

Damn Yankees was good, but not a good as Night Ranger.

Glad to see this on here and thanks from a old to you, Mom who remembers the rock and roll days. :)

    Hazard's Mom. :)

  • What a gem. 3rd fav behind Sentimental Street and Goodbye

  • You gotta love the duel guitar lead toward the end!!! It's awesome music.

  • My favorite Night Ranger song, love this.

  • from what i've read, their record company ruined them by demanding that they lose their hard-rock edge. they rebelled and lost their deal.

  • timeless ,drummer best ever ,oh hes singing to , phil colins please, sing on you future is bright

  • The BEST song from these guys!

    Great performance!!!!

  • Night Ranger - (Live in japan'83)I was able to be fuddled with their performance luckily in this meeting place!

  • well said 615350

  • Yeah! right on! They are at their best here. This is their best tune in my opinion.

  • oh shit i remember watching this as an mtv concert when i was a kid...i think i recorded it on a vhs tape and wore the fuck out of it! one of the very few 80's pop rock bands that had legitimate substance and talent - i miss this like crazy...thanx 4 posting

  • Saw them three times over a couple years including this tour, and this song was always my highlight. There's something so right about this so- it's a great single that even the hard rockers of the time were partial to. It takes you back to the early 80s when the Night Rangers of the world were laying the groundwork for the Hair Band ballad explosion soon to follow. Great time warp tune- takes you way back vividly.

  • Wow they play live like Johhny B Goode, Just like ringin a bell. They were sooooo good.

  • What you guys are reacting to is the fact that, in this era, rock music was played by talented musicians that could play, sing and write.

This is no longer the case.

It's like eating a home-cooked meal after McD's for 6 months; "oh, this is what food really is supposed to taste like."

  • Super Totally Agree with you! Today, that kind of Chemistry in a band, is not only hard to find, i think is lost forever. Long live 80's!!!

  • i agree. i tell my kid that listens to that solja boy crap. this is old peoples music to her

  • how is night ranger not still selling out arenas. they were probably the best band to come out of the 80s. Them and gnr.

  • Nice vid! I love this song! My favorite NR song. I saw them about this time a Marriott's Great America amusement park in Northern California. At the time $50 would get you a season pass as well a free concerts. Night Ranger, Berlin, Huey Lewis, John Cougar, Y&T, Quarterflash, the days...

  • love night ranger thanx

  • This guitar duet rules! Damn underrated!

  • One of my fav's from N.R. Gillis and Watson push this song over the top toward the end. Awesome.

  • I agree! This song is so perfect and well done that it cant be better.

  • Underrated song from a truly underrated band. Jack and the boys were the best!
