I noticed they got more poppy over the years but no ones first and your last redeemed them (I love the title too) check out 5...4...3...2...1 lisp off its fucking sick -No music is garbage lifeissublime esp. jams from modest mouse
i was in kalamazoo at the time but ended up seeing a series of feedback/noise acts at this big house party instead. no big-- less than a week later i had one of the best experiences of my life seeing them and MAN MAN with my then-new girlfriend... high on suboxin, sippin rum-and-coke, dancing, and making out. sickest live sets we'd ever seen.
anyway, yeah, easily their best song on the album and my current favorite from their entire body of work
fo reals? out of there 11 albums you think this is the best song? i persnaly think there music too a small turn for the worse after they came out with good news for people who love bad news it doens't even sound like them anymore.
have you heard any of their older stuff. i ave all of their albums and think good news is by far the worst one. you should check out the moon & antarctica and the lonesome crowded west.
I heard all the albums but i just like the kind of music in the newer albums. It is all great. I guess i just heard GNFPWLBN before i heard Moon & Antarctica. i
no shit man good news is way better than wwd.. and there first was better than any. this is a long drive kicked ass and lonesome was amaing wwd wasnt that great but venom and sensory was amzing!!!
its true. they used too have a real roughness to their songs. when the took the rough edges out of their albums and stopped doing that twangy thing on the guitar it lost its quality. im not seeing their new albums are bad, just not as good. best song of last two albums.
actually, isaac brought back the raw and harsh guitar sound back for the new album. just listen to spitting venom, invisible and..well basically every song!
I'd have to agree to kmiller812. neither "Good News" nor "Dead" had the twang, lo-fi, and rawness their previous albums had.
Spitting venom has the brown noise, and i see how you think it has the harsh sound, but it is simply too overproduced, and that takes away the quality (ironically) and raw edge Modest Mouse used to have.
dude the show june 6th at the united center was brilliant i am so happy my older bro took me to it. wats better then modest mouse opeing with invisible! and closing with the view! while playing stuff liek dance hall, and teeth like god's shoewhine in bewteen!
One of there most amazing songs in anyway, i remember getting there new album and this song being the only i had to stop and listen to the whole thing first time through

Same. It'll take me awhile to get in to M & N, but the fact that I want to get into it is enough for me.
Also, I like Brock's voice a lot more in the newer albums. It's more exciting.
