  • butchered this one

  • wow... ... wow.. :l

  • "Hi-Larious"!

  • i want to punch this ugly fucker in the face

  • this is pretty bad....

  • This is unbelievable! Why on earth did the twit not even bother to learn the music to O Canada before he went out there? Very insulting, even today, to Canada. Still, what goes on in Vegas stays in Vegas!

  • F.U.N.N.Y.

  • Oh my god. why he did not know how to sing the Canada National Anthem. He should practice more before he goes to the stadium.

  • hahahahahaha

  • This sounds more like "O Christmas Tree"! Pretty pathetic. All the guy probably knows about Canada is Toronto, the city that the rest of Canada hates. Can you imagine the uproar if a Canadian brutalized the "Star Spangled Banner"?

  • I am Canadian, and a professionally trained singer.

This is one of my absolute favourite videos ever!! I laugh every single time I hear it and talk about it and I even sing, it as a song, it's own horrible, yet hilarious, song.

  • Hey buddy it's criminal to screw up a country's anthem like this........

  • Who the hell hired this dummy?

  • This is to cue a phrase from Chandler bing on friends "bitching" lmao

  • The boos were probably Canadians (Rider fans that made the trip)

  • That's the best version I ever saw, I bet you sing a song like that you get a free bowl of soup.

O Christmas Tree O Christmas Tree, I mean Canada!!

  • That's the best version I ever saw, I bet you sing a song like that you get a free bowl of soup.

  • Oh Canada turned into a Christmas song...now that is hilarious!

  • He should just be shot........ In both knees and left to bleed out

  • As a Canadian, this is just too funny.

  • i find it to be very funny... as well as incredibly offensive. XD

  • Oh Christmas Tree Oh Canada

  • Wow... progressive version. :)))

  • This poor soul was invited back to Hamilton the following week to sing O Canada and this time he nailed it.

  • LMAO @ THE CAMERA MANS LAUGH @ 1:22 and id love to slap the smirq of his face @ 1:25-1:26 !

  • As a Canadian I find this funny. He botched the song... big deal. Thumbs up!

  • @forklift26

Exactly. I'm a canuck too. I find this Hilarious.

  • What a fucking moron !! , and he actually really gets into it too ! somebody should of thrown him the football upside the head !!

  • im from georgia and this is disgraceful

  • he doesn't even just get the tune wrong( a freaking christmas tune!) but he says tones of lines wrong and in wrong places! FREAKING HORRIBLE!

  • I don't know what was more underwhelming, the horribly mangled rendition of O Canada or the "crowd" for our canadian brand of football in Las Vegas! This is one time that I wished that the saying was true: "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas." (LOL)

  • So you're tellin' me they didn't have an anthem for this guy to listen to at least once prior to singing it. I guess it was 94 and Las Vegas...oh well...still funny to hear.

  • The name of the man singing in this video is "Dennis Casey Park" ... Go look up more of his videos under his name or under "CaseyEntertainment" !!!

  • SERIOUSLY!!!!! THIS IS FUCKIN HILLARIOUS!!! HAHAHAHA!!!!

  • I am Canadian, and I think, this is simply funny!

  • whre in youtube is the one with the woman at yankee stadium in 85 messing up O Canada?

  • Not sure what is more embarasing. The song or the attempt to expand into cities like Vegas,Birmingham, and Shreveport back then. Do miss San Antonio, and Memphis though. Those fans understood, and loved the CFL.

  • Oh Christmas tree, oh Christmas tree, how lovely are thy branches

  • noooooooo , I can't believe this....... It's rare i dislike a video. But this one is more than awful...

  • ffffffffffffffffffffff this Canadian is dying

  • I was at that game in Las Vegas...At half-time we crossed path with the singer, I told him, this is how you sing «O Canada» and started singing it. The poor man was embarrassed...

  • Oh Canada or Oh Christmas Tree. Same thing in Vegas. You know what happens stays. Except this HA HA!

  • Honestly, try singing along with this. I challenge any Canadian not to laugh at the "O Christmas Tree" part.

  • Oh my god the key change at 0:46 is the best part.

Then the part at the end when you thing he's gonna get the last couple notes right and go up to the tonic but he stays on the same note. Oh god that's great.

    This man's a genius!

  • OMG! And he was so proud of himself.

  • @qualityshows

"Hey I wonder if someone noticed I missed the first part, at least I got the rest allright"

  • he somehow makes it sound like a Christmas carol!

  • Before I comment on this, I'm a native southern US guy who follows hockey a bit. I've heard O Canada many many times. Wonderful song, and I hear it from a dual citizen Dennis Morgan who is GREAT here in Nashville.

I FF'd to the 0:22 mark, and heard the "with growing hearts" bit. I promptly vomited and snickered at the same time. Bleccchhh.... Horrible.

  • two words... epic fail

  • The face on the cheerleader at 0:37 is priceless.

  • My morning shit is better looking than this dick

  • this guy looks like a piece of shit, he makes me sick

  • I saw this and it didn't piss me off really, just makes you shake your head at this losers arrogance for not at least preparing a little bit. See the look of satisfaction on his face afterwards.Who exactly thought US expansion was a good idea, Las Vegas and Shreveport, c'mon.

  • @clubhouseme LOL, it made me laugh too. US expansion was a good idea in principle (heck the expansion fee revenues probably saved the league from folding), but I agree going to places like Las Vegas, Birmingham and Shreveport were not good ideas. I seem to recall Vegas' final home game (against the Bombers) was barely attended by 2,000 people and they estimated around 800 people made the trip from Winnipeg.

  • atleast he kept going!! haaaaaa

  • saw it live on TV, laughed my head off, and I knew the Posse would not last long....

  • ...........and he doesn't even look drunk or stoned, LOL.

  • hahahahhahahhahhhahahaha! awesome. I love the non-applause.

  • Omggggggg I had to come back to this after just seeing Aguillera do the US anthem at the Super Bowl! lmfao!!!!! I can hardly type I am cryin' here! Last note was incredible though I thought lol and the applause from the 122 beer drinkers in Vegas who were just there between slots, wonder why CFL didnèt last state side! lol

  • "But as we are Canadians we don't get offended very easily." Hhahaha so true!

  • Thumbs up if you realize that 36 people out of 59,715 viewers did not read the descriptions to this video

  • fuckup.

  • He should have at least listened to it on youtube.

  • @phonebook9876 lol in 1994

  • @phonebook9876 In '94? Youtube didn't even exist...nor did the internet.

Agreed that its horrible though, what a bonehead. At least he nailed it in Hamilton a week later to make up for it, I remember when this happened.

  • Best version of Oh Canada sung in the tone of Oh Christmas Tree HAHAHA

I love how this guy is just wingin it, he's obviously never even heard the Canadian National Anthem

  • Y'know, if he had no idea what he was doing, and just came out and did, like, a swingin' "Tony Curtis in Vegas" style national anthem, I'd have been cool with that... at least it would have been interesting and shown a modicum of effort..

  • I am canadian too, altho it funny, this singer do not show any profesionalism at at.. he's off tone, don't know lyrics, shame on him... not because its a canadian anthem but because this doesn't show me any good signer talent.

  • @8fahrenheit Hmmm not unlike Christina at the Superbowl? lol I kid I kid

  • Good Lord! Horrid!...

  • I am torn between feeling offended as a Canadian, offended as a musician, and somehow physically violated. However I think the latter is the strongest of sensations. Excuse me, I think I need a piping hot shower.

  • Stupid fucking yankee.

  • Hilarious

  • I had to listen to this twice to make sure this was for real...Greg Bartholomew and his mullet just made my heart cry.

  • HAHAHAHAHAH!!!

  • im canadian i find this so funny

  • Oh good god...

  • OMG what an INSULT TO MY COUNTRY THIS VIDEO!!!!!!! this is SHIT!

  • Holy crap that was terrible. He doesn't even know the tune, and seemed to make it up as he went. BOOOO!!!!

  • O Canada = O Christmas Tree?

  • Unbelievable!

  • Wow, Although I don't beleive any disrespect was intended here, it was hard to listen to. I remember watching the Winnipeg Blue Bombers play the Las Vegas Posse in Vegas and the summer heat almost killing the players with oxygen masks on the sidelines. Good memory though and thanks for posting.

  • As A Canadian I find this Immensely funny. And the best part is I can laugh cause I know exactly how he is messing up. I can't do that with the Star Spangled Banner yet. Go Horrible renditions of National Anthems!

  • Hahahaha! Was he high?!

  • holy shit i could sing the jewish national anthem better.... o wait...

  • somebody shoot this fuck!

  • OMFG, what a disgrace. I think Leslie Nielson did a better rendition of the Star Spangled Banner in The Naked Gun than this clown did here.

  • I think only a Rosanne Barr rendition could possibly top this one...

  • *facepalm*

  • What a fail hahahahahhahah

  • It's bad enough that he's inventing the melody and lyrics, but even worse, he has no sense of pitch, awful pronunciation, and a complete lack of musicality.

  • oooooo christmas tree...... nice hair faggot

  • Wow. That was.... wow.

All joking aside, what kind of "professional" vocalist sings a song without LISTENING to it first?

    Yeesh!

  • This was SAD !!!! SO sad. However, .... I refuse to be offended by ignorance (which is what was displayed) even though I am a proud Canadian ............ with 50% American heritage of which I am equally proud.

  • My questions as to why foreigners think we're nothing but blithering idiots have been answered.

  • @dondonp12004

It was over 16 years ago so my memory is pretty vague, but I'm pretty sure it was Dionne Warwick who sang the U.S. anthem.

After her turn, Mark Lee, the CBC announcer, quipped something along the lines of "A classic rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner...and that version of O Canada, one I'm sure you've never heard before..."

  • @patrolmanpete So, Dionne Warwick sang my national anthem after Dennis Park's 'weird' version of your national anthem, eh? Fair enough. Thank you very much indeed.

  • i heard they hung our flag upside down too ..... lol how stupid can you be

  • @leaht1 Upside down Canadian flag, that was at the 92' World Series.

  • lets kill him

  • @deytookmahjob Someone dig up his Dossier and we'll get on it.Bury him in the desert maybe.

  • OMG!!! I am Canadian! That's terrible.

  • LOL, holy Jeffrey! Outrageous! Never in my life have I heard your national anthem sung to a different tune. Good thing I know the real music and the real lyrics to that, your royal anthem that is also the national anthem of the United Kingdom and, of course, my national anthem. Sorry for being curious, but who performed 'The Star-Spangled Banner' before or after Dennis K.C. Parks' contraversial performance of 'O Canada'? Anyhow, thanks for the upload. Greetings from the United States of America!

  • @dondonp12004 This rendition sounds more like "Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree" I remember almost pissing myself laughing so hard when this clown came on TV and sang,,,or tried too anyway..

At least he came to a game in Canada and got it right,so all's not so bad....I wonder where he's at now??

  • @wrxmike123 I know about that 'controversial' perfromance (IMHO) but I don't know what Dennis Parks was up to. I wonder: was my national anthem ('The Star-Spangled Banner') performed either before or after your national anthem ('O Canada') at a 1994 CFL game in Vegas? I'm just curious.

  • @dondonp12004 I meant I don't know what Dennis Parks is up to now.

  • @dondonp12004 What difference does that make? Who cares what song was sung first.

  • Comment removed

  • @wrxmike123 I was just curious. Who sang my national anthem 'The Star-Spangled Banner' at a 1994 CFL game in Vegas either before or after Dennis Parks' performance of 'O Canada'?

  • @dondonp12004 I have no idea.My guess is it would've been him.

  • Lol its ok guys :D. Shit happens

  • HAHAHHA, this sucks

  • Is he taking the piss?

  • Kinda sounds like oh Christmas tree

  • I remember watching this game live , we laughed til we peed......

  • Comment removed

  • Just look at his smug expression at the end. He thought he was the best of the best! Please tell me that this idiot didn't have much of a career after. :S

  • improvisation for the win! Or maybe he rewrote his own version... but he butchered it. Anyhow, I laughed my head off.

  • We just finished hosting the G20 summit in Toronto. The local police force spent a lot of money on sound cannons to keep unruly protestors at bay. In hindsight, it would have been cheaper and more effective to hire KC Parks. Next time.

  • I love the "thank you" at the end of it

  • nailed it!

  • Now that is improvisation. Wrong words wrong tune and he should be thoroughly ashamed for not learning it before hand.

  • Great singer and a fantastic song...what's it called? The middle part however, sounds a lot like "Oh Christmas Tree", a Las Vegas standard.

  • donald trump?

  • OH Christmas tree, OH Christmas tree....

  • Lol he tanked it... But anyways, it's hilarious.

  • awful rendition

  • Brilliant rendition!!!

  • wooops! Did this guy get the sheet music?

  • *sheds tear*

  • Education level of this no-mind. Nothing " 'xists 'cept the 'new nited stytes...merrrca! Hyuk Hyuk."

Wouldn't the idiot yank producers have at least SCREENED....their singers BEFORE ...they embarrass their entire nation????

  • wow hes dumb

  • "The true and strong and free"?

    Wow.nice.

  • lol... it sounds like he was getting the tunes of "O Canada" and "O Christmas Tree" mixed up.

  • embarrassment...

  • Oh please, please what are you singing? That has to be the worst rendition of the Canadian national anthem. Did this clown even listen to it before trying to sing it? He wasn't even close to the melody let alone the words.

  • If memory serves me correctly, the CFL invited this poor soul to Hamilton the following week to sing "O Canada" before the T-Cats game. This time he nailed it. I guess practice makes perfect.

  • @chippewaman1975

    You're right!

  • What do you think was on the music stand? Clearly it was not some form of music to get that result. Buy that guy a beer and a music lesson!

  • glowing =/= growing

  • BEST version of O Christmas Tree EVER

  • bahahahahahhahaahahah :P

  • EPIC FAIL

  • this lame guy did not even learn the lyrics. Was this guy actually a singing performer in his days? No wonder i did not know that. (He should have stuck to his day job..... thats what my coworkers always say..... and i can sing... ahahhahahah)

  • FAIL

  • This is em-bare-assing

  • Bad singing but nice Fabio-esque hair.

  • excuse, I meant if he never heard it sung before...lol...

  • I suppose if he never heard it sound before and someone just gave him the lyrics he might come up with something like this. Ha ha ha! I heard he sang it perfectly two weeks later in Toronto.

  • Hahahah. What a dumbass.

  • Oh the horror!! The horror!! If this was a Clockwork Orange moment, and I was forced to hear this bad rendition repeatly, my head would explode! =oS

  • If a Canadian singer did that to their national anthem, we'd be at WAR!! What a joke! AND it looks as though he had the music in front of him! Jeez!!

  • I remember this well. Opening night for the CFL in Las Vegas. It went downhill from there. ;o) I wonder which genius decided Las Vegas would be a good expansion choice?

  • its a fairly large market with no NFL team, so it actually seemed fairly logical

  • Like hockey in Phoenix? It would make more sense to look at Quebec City of Halifax.

  • no, its different then Hockey in Pheonix.

back in the early 90's, the league needed that American cash to keep the league going, much like how the Winnipeg Jets and Nordiques had trouble due to the low Cdn. dollar. The CFL team that was in Alabama was very successful. Today, I agree though, Halifax (or Moncton) need a team to make it 10 (with Ottawa).

  • baltimore also worked well, but the NFL arrival would have killed the Stallions

  • Starting at 0:50 he is singing O Canada to the song of "Oh Christmas Tree". I guess the syllables work out! LOL

  • With growing hearts? LOL

I can't believe he chose to hold that last note for so long... like he was saying "I really nailed that one!" What a joke.

  • lmaoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo effin joke

  • god that was awful, this guy should have been shot

  • LMFAO

    WHAT A DUMBASS

    Sing it rightxD

  • I was a kid when this happened, but I remember this like it was yesterday. What a job butchering our anthem. People were ticked! But he redeemed himself when he was invited to Hamilton and did the anthem there for a Ti-Cats game.

  • What??!!! I said what???!!! rofl!!!

  • lol lol rofl!!!! It's a march. Not an off key drowning song.

  • another reason why i'm so bored with the USA (as The Clash sang)

  • WHAT THE HECK IS THIS??? BOOOOOOOOOOOOO BOOOOOOOOOO dont give up your day job ok.

  • omg and the worst part is that he was proud...

  • As an American, I apologize profusely for this loser butchering your national anthem. We didn't mean anything by it. The man just simply sucked! This was at Sam Boyd Stadium in Vegas. Of course, CFL fans know it only lasted a year in Vegas. There was an XFL team there in 2001. It was well supported by the community, but not supported by the USA as a whole.

  • @Terry7111967 It's ok, Rosie Barr screwed yur own anthem, what a douchebagette!!!

  • @Terry7111967 no worries. We apologize for sending Celine Dion to Vegas to torture Americans. Maybe it's just karma evening out? Haha.

  • @Terry7111967 as a Canadian ...No need to apologize..its this idiot who made a fool of himself all by himself and @ 1:22 you can hear the camera man sniker and the smirk on his face @ 1:26 makes me want to punch old people!

  • @Terry7111967

    That guys absolutely terrible.

XFL was in Vergas? That was run by Vince Mcmahon lol. Went under pretty fast though. Kinda sucks.

  • @Terry7111967 No need to apologize. He actually made up for it a couple weeks later at a CFL game in Hamilton. That's how bad he felt for screwing up our anthem.

  • Did he redeem himself at an Argonauts game or a Tiger-Cats game? I could have sworn it was at SkyDome in Toronto.

  • .....Wow....lol.
