As someone already mentioned, it's the Samba ostinato that he is doing between the bass drum and hi-hats. The rest is all latin groove improv.

@SoGreatToHaveFun No surprise, he's a real genius. I've been at one of his clinic and he is simply fantastic. Great taste, sound, groove, very funny, helpful. This is a step over skills and speed, things that nowadays rule the world of drumming.

it's from his first dvd called "vorschlag"(german). you won't find much about that in the internet.. it's an interesting dvd with a young and funny benny greb.

The DVD were published in 2003 from the hamburg school of music and the sradfilm production company - it's a german production! but I think it's not available anymore! but I can highly recommend it! great performance and the solo on cymbals only is awesome! :)
