You assign them to the same Mute group on the S2K. And I'm not sure what you mean by your first question, but editing samples is a lot easier to do with a wav editor. Then you can just transfer them with MESA.
i have an s2000 and padkontrol and i cant figure out how to make it so when i play a sample and then another one in succesion the first sample stops playing.???
I was pitching the sample on the S2K...just using a knob on the RM1X to control the S2K's pitch.
And I could've got an MPC2K maybe...but that has no keygroups, so I couldn't have made this beat with it. If you didn't notice I use "multi-samples" in this vid, which the MPC2K cannot deal with. Plus, I try to stay away from cliches.
i dont really understand how u can stretch the tempo of the sample down from the rm1x , didnt used a s2000 tough but shouldnt that be done on the s2000 itself?
Nice job. I HATE hip hop music (I have to, I'm a Trance artist hehe), but I really enjoy your vids! Great work with the hardware, those things are so confusing.
THANK you SO much for the tutorials, they helps me so much to see how simple it could be to make good music. Your vids are perfect to learn! THANKS a LOT!!!!
Real nice, I like it....especially like the end sequence to the sample you used, it sounds like it has a modulated pitch bend to it, sounds real good!
In general, good stuff with the PK, you've helped me make a difficult choice between it and the TF by M-audio. I saw you post somewhere you had a Tascam us-2400. Any tutorials/demo's up soon? Is it worth the cash? My use is primarily beats and then guitar based rock/jazz.
Not really. The keys on the RM1X aren't velocity sensitive or very responsive and easy to break. Since they're used for other things, like track selection/muting, using something else as a controller is safer IMO.
Great job Bro! That beat sounds cool. I like that flute sound after the keys. I could be content with my Computer and RM1X, but I got alot more than that now.
There's a lot of barking in here... I am just here to admit that your video is great, the jam is great, the sample's awesome, peace out! I never new they had black&white webcams... tht's cheap !!!
i would have adjusted the tempo to match the sample, because you're sample is now most likely out of tune with A440. digitaly pitch-changing or shifting is destructive and can cause artifacts as does time-stretching, unless you use a high definition sample and shift or stretch it with a good algorithm, like "pitch n time" by serato. the higher definition you use to capture sounds (from an analog source) the more room you have to adjust pitch and time without artifacts
Serato is a $700 program...this vid is about a budget set up. And, in this case, the sample is in tune with A440...how do you think I was able to add a bassline?
good video, I too have an rm1x and padkontrol, and am looking at picking up a sampler (akai obviously is my first choice).. nice to see they work so well together.
also good to see someone making beats on youtube who isn't rubbish! good work
thats a hot beat but thats not workin with s budget hahaha i only got a M AUDIO MIDI 49 key n reason 3.0 and just now baught a KORG PADKONTROL and iam still on a budget hahah abut still a hot beat tho lol

I have done cool stuff with reason.
I now have more expensive gear (mpc 60,sp1200 etc,,) but it really doesnt matter what you use.
Some of my favorite techno (schranz) is done mostly with fruity loops (and most reggaeton is too btw)
anyways good stuff keep it up!!

Having a problem with comments on this vid.
Pugg...no, it comes with Reason Adapted, which is missing a lot of features.
And Awake303 wrote that the beat was boring. No need to apologize for having an opinion though.

Not sure where that sample came from...it's something I chopped up a long time ago.
And on budgets, Reason is a $400 program. You can get the S2K for $100, the RM1X for $150.

do you know if there is a way to load samples into the padlontrol without using any computer programs?

padcontrol is a midi controller, not a sampler.
