You teach this child that when he wants something all needs to do is scream and throw a hissy fit and he'll get it. Fortunately, that's not how our world works. And B. You are taking away his ability to self sooth. He has to learn that mommy and daddy can't always love on him all the time, and he has to learn that he is not the center of the universe.

If you want something, you ask nicely or it will come naturally. You don't demand it in that way. Mummy and daddy love him unconditionally, but the big wide world wont and his parents would be setting him up for a fall if they just picked him up and cuddled him at that moment. Once he'd calmed down, he would have had the best cuddle ever.
