  • I played the video for my son when he was little.

  • I used to LOVE this song!!! Thanks for the wonderful memories

  • I missed this song from my childhood... Thank you

  • i know you've being asked this many times but, IS THIS REAL LIFE?

  • mike nesmith is my favorite monkey

  • I would drive an Eldorado to the moon. But would rather drive a Mustang. :D

  • Quite unusual: I think, perhaps, I am missing something - or not. Thank you. :)

  • @0917gva I found the entire effect very touching - a father singing a bedtime story to his little girl, in a calypso style, with the video presentation worthy of Disney. You know my music taste, Gayle, this is packed full of all the things I like. And I'm usually only listening to the music here. This 'visual' presentation was a monster bonus for me, plus, i remember catching this show once back then (1985). It was all musical skits. For some reason, I can't say enuff about this one! chuck

  • I was telling my friend at work about this video today, pss! Came home & made it my newest featured video at 36,330 views. Thanks again for an astounding post - I just may have to go to Nesmith's website, videoranch, & buy the whole disc! chuck

  • The Environmental Wacko probably would hate this song. How dare Mike Nesmith drive his car to the moon! :-)

  • @Wellch 1:46 "We've got a million dollars worth of ethyl gas." Sounds like a lot of money, but probably way less than real rocket fuel costs! The imagination in creating this video is astounding. Maybe that's why this man won the first Music Video of the Year award in 1981 for Elephant Parts! chuck

  • Pleeeeeease can you post "I Got A Radio". It's not only surreal it sounds wonderful!

  • he would been a memeber or part of chicago

  • Is that Harry Nillson singing backups ? Sounds like him.

  • Man I used to have a Caddy Eldorado convertable just like this one.

It had 2X 4 barrels carbs and mag wheels!

  • THIS SONG IS SOOO CHEESY....BUT FOR SOME REASON I CANT STOP LISTENING #LOL

  • WONDERFUL!

  • @lennycohenfan Hopefully, Michael Nesmith will be remembered for having the imagination to create a video like this, this is quality worthy of Disney !!! And how cool to be able to netsurf & find this aired the summer of 1985, 8 Thursday night episodes in prime time! This is an amazing piece of music history, added to my 1985 playlist. My 700 playlists include every year since 1900 so you can hear the best, like this song, as if you've stepped back in time. chuck

  • What the juddering fuck have I just watched?

  • beautiful video, its got that certain "dreamy" and magical touch from the 70s+80s era - great times !!

  • Aw, I am just stunned at how sweet the video is. I had heard the song--I have it on CD--but didn't know there was such a cute video.

  • Isn't that Dana Plato at 2:52?

  • Not my favorite Nesmith tune...

  • Pedo, INN SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE

  • His stuff also reminds me of the UK band, Sailor.

  • His solo stuff reminds me of the kind of tunes and videos Neil Innes (The Rutles, ect.) use to make.

  • This video is so cool. While dated, it captures a part of the essence of the competition we had with the USSR. The harmonies are wonderful!!!!!!!!

  • "I once killed a man with a sponge! Ok, maybe it didn't kill him, but it hurt really bad." Please post that! As a matter of fact, post it all :) Thanks!

  • One of my favorite Nez songs of all time. I used to sing my daughter to sleep with it.

  • WTF

  • After this and Repoman Mike's definitely got a thing for flying space cars. :-)

  • I love this guy. What a genius! Elephant Parts was a classic.

  • really good. Is the little girl his?

  • This is great!!!! You haven't got "I got a Radio" as well do you? I think it was on Mike's "Elephant Parts" TV programme.

  • Thank you for posting this.. I almost forgot about it..

  • Not bad for a person whose mom invented white-out.

  • Mike Nesmith was so under rated!! This is great!

  • reminds me about a song of monty python's

  • HOLY FUCK

    Nez is THEE man!

  • I win.

  • billy mays' previous work.

  • I lost at 0:03

Why does he pick up the little girl. it just makes me laugh.

  • @Felpman ---Maybe the passanger's side of the car is jammed and can't open.

  • lolwut

  • context please

  • wat

  • RAPE

  • Is this song the father of "Bikeride To The Moon" by The Dukes Of Stratosphear/XTC? Mike sure must have plenty of grand connections. Frank Zappa, Gord Downie of The Tragically Hip, Andy Partridge... what a guy. I wish he were my pal!

  • It's a fair question. He appears to be taking her on a date, and he says he's gonna drive his big pink Eldorado (penis) to the moon (her butt)

  • Wow... don't know who you were answering...but, wow... Perhaps he was just taking a little girl for a fabulous ride?? Truly, I don't think it was the LEAST bit sexual!! Geez!!!

  • btw, this was to SubmarinerAndroid!! :O)

  • 1981 I Think.

  • What year was this?

  • Is that little girl Tori Spelling? This video has got to be one of my all time favs
