  • Bless his heart. He left at the top. He's healthy. He was loved. How many players play too long and really hurt themselves?

  • @cochranexyz soo true

  • watching the highlights was the same as watching him live amazing the greatest running back of all time plus i like the fact he stayed out of spotlight.

  • dont know how people keep compairing any back to barry, the man was simply the best.

  • okay, emmitt smith 4,409 attempts 18,355 yards 4.16 yards per carry... barry sanders 3,062 attempts 15,269 yards 5.0 yards per carry if sanders kept on that pace and played as many carries as emmitt he would have 22,004 rushing yards and blew emmitt smith out of the water, lets stop comparing the two please

  • @cleemeyer1 Not only that, but Barry didn't always have a fullback blocking 4 him or a passing game 2 stretch the field, or a Nate Newton 2 run behind. Barry > Emmitt

  • What I really respect about Emmitt was when he said "If Barry had returned, we would have all been chasing his record". Emmitt was great, but Barry was literally in a class all by himself.

I totally respect Barry's decision to leave the game. What I had a problem with was his timing - just weeks before opening camp. Their new coach had just drafted AROUND his "top weapon", trying to solidify the offense. Barry's departure DECIMATED that plan, and it's taken 12 years to recover.

  • YEA "WE KNOW" BARRY

  • Funny thing is his son Barry Sanders Jr. says "you know" just as much as Barry Sr. does. Check out Barry Sanders Jr. interview, they talk identically.

  • Make no mistake, Emmitt was great- but there is absolutely no comparison between Emmitt and Barry. None.

  • The win is the record a team player cares about. Its hard to be on a team that can't win...with or without you. Truth is, the Lions still are not winning.

  • Barry had some of his best years at the end of his career. If he would have had just his career rushing yards/season in another year he would have broken Walter Payton's rushing record.

  • Emmit played for records thats all he cared about Barry Sanders played for the love of the game and when he didnt love the game anymore he let go something emmit should have done years before he retired

  • no he didnt beak no every record thats emmitt

  • y would he quit he would hav broken every record in football
