At 6:10 that is an old decoration that girls put colored beads in the holes and bake it on a cookie sheet, melting the beads to make colored 'glass'.I lived near some REAL rednecks when I was young, and they still had them in their windows.
I found a few old cars too! :) Loads of doohickeys as well. But thats the game I guess. Beers cans GAAAALORE. Even found a condom wrapper 6 inches down once. That was....weird, cuz i touched it.
Anyway. I'd say go hit the parks. All the metal detector nerds will say, oh they been hit pretty hard. Pffttt to that. People go back to em constantly. So, try there. You will at least find some change. And sooner or later silver or gold. Dont have to be OLD coins. People lose stuff all the time.
spec6294- yes, i didnt think about the brass price, good point! im going to rethink all the finds i get not just for oddness but for recycle value too..
mowerdog, hey nice tip! anything to get away from those large objects. i think i am going to stick to lots and parks and maybe wooded areas that have low linds grass. that area that was digging was very deep with grass and trash as we walked around i kept my son to areas that he could see the ground to be safe..thanks for the comment
Nice videos! You can eliminate most large targets and aluminum cans with this tip. Sweep your coil over the ground at about 12 to 16 inches. If you still get a beep it's a large target and you can move on. Unless you want to dig the cans? That last site looked good with those big trees. Maybe hunting a little away from the house might net you two some good items? Keep at it. Good luck.
i am getting a trails metal detecor hopefuly i find things because were i live used to be property of the indians

Great job, and yes raise your coil up about a foot and see if you still get a signal, if you do then its a big target and not a coin.
TreasureFiend 3 years ago
treasurefiend- thank you..i will for sure raise my coil.. i thought it was funny to dig up a hub cap.. made things interesting...lol
scorpiotoyou 3 years ago
Hey,
You were talkin about saving the cans for recycle but that brass is worth a lot more.
Think about it. Save all of those brass spikets and whatsits and then cash them in.:0)
Also, like mowerdog said, if you raise your coil up about a foot and it still be beepin it aint a coin....
Happy Hunting
