  • I guess it looks neat and if that was what you were going for then that's good but what can it do better then my stock 10/22 I paid $100 for at the gun show?

Never felt the need for a muzzle brake on a 22 and now with that short barrel you loose some velocity

No back up sights either for when that cheap optic breaks

Guess I'm just more concerned with how a gun performs then trying to make it tacticool looking. Is neato looking give you that

  • @deaddollzombies It is both funtional and looks very cool. That so called "Cheap" optic has taken a beating and has never ever broken or dimmed out on me. I have had it for over 4 years. Rain, hard bumps and knocks and it keeps running. And If it comes to it and it does break I can point shoot. The muzzle brake is for cosmetic looks. Its a 22 not much of a kicker. Performance wise this rifle is as every bit as reliable as a stock ruger.

  • @deaddollzombies just some FYI, but a 14" barrel will produce the highest velocity with most bulk .22 ammo...so even though he may not be getting complete powder burn at 12.5", the "excess" barrel of your stock 18.5" is probably producing the same velocity. And while a .22 may not need a muzzle brake, running below a 16" barrel will produce muzzle flash and a flash hider can be deemed necessary, and that is what he has.

  • Hey man it's me again, do you realy have ALL that land to yourself? Or is it public?

    -love them 10/22's foreva!

  • Thanks! And do u have a website you go to to purchase the tapco stock and your other gadgets? I know big5 sells the archangel stock but I like The tapco better. Thanks for the info, and your zombie killer is a beast!!!

  • @jdubvids Go to Midwayusa and check out the tapco stocks. Cost 89 bucks. lots of colors to choose from

  • I have a 10/22 stock. Thinking of modding it. But I have some questions I need answered before I start buying mods for it. Do I have to swap out the stock barrel to a new one in order for me to put it in a new stock? Or is that personal preference? I'm a bit confused cause I don't plan on messing with the barrel I just want to change the stock. Hope anyone can help me..thanks

  • @jdubvids Ok I hope I understand your question. You want to keep the factory barrel right? You also want to add a tactical stock like the tapco in this video. If you just want to do that then no you do not need to do anything other than buy the purchase the tactical stock and put it on. Tapco and others make thier stocks to fit the factory Ruger barrel. They also make a Bull barrel stock for the thicker barrels but since your not doing that you just need the regular barrel stock kit.

  • Where did you buy the muzzle brake?

  • @mario3804 MidwayUSA. Product # 275983 $17.00

  • Sorry man, for $640 I can buy a cheap ass AR. Not saying your rifle is not cool, I just cant see that kind of money on a 10/22.

  • @gasitman It's OK no offense taken. I have the money to do this. Most guys have no clue on what a .22 can really do so they think it is a waste of money to put into a 10/22.. And thats fine. I have ARs, Sniper rifles, shotguns you name it.... This is a hobby. I have seen guys dump over $2,500 into an AR after they got the gun. And the end result is similar to mine. A gun that shoots a .22 caliber bullet thats cost almost $4,000! For that I would buy a .308. See my point? It's a hobby. Lke cars.

  • what model 10/22 is it

  • @MegaHunterbob It was a standard Ruger 10/22 before being tricked out and having the barrel cut down.

  • well im shure the squriels will be tarifed with that tatcool 10\22 simple fi

  • @hurley242584 I dont have a squirel problem any more :( I killed them all. Now I have to use Venom or the Savage and drill them past 200 yards. This pig is only good for 100 yards or so accuratly.

  • Thumbs up if you are collecting gun to prevent zombie apocalypse!

  • @SekateStudio Everyone knows the zombies are an excuse to have a crate of live grenades as well.

  • This weapon motivates me. YUT!

  • nice vid semper fi

  • Very Nice! I am building the same type using a Tactical solutions barrel and X-Ring Receiver.

  • Do you prefer the straight stock or the angled stock?

  • @PistolGripPump12ga I never use the angled stock. I always use the streight stock. Do you ever see an M4 carbine with a bent stock? Nope.. It's just a gimmick and it's just a personal thing. Everybody that I build "Rat" type rifles for I put the bent stock on cuz that what the directions say for the stocks. I let them shoot it like that and 98% of the time they tell me to take it off and put the streight one back on. :)

  • add a fifty round drum clip and your set for the zombie apocalypse

  • Do you make "Ratts" and sell them?

  • @PistolGripPump12ga No I don't sell the guns. I should open up a custom Ruger 10/22 store and sell em.. I make them buy the rifle and then I will build the rifle for them. What happens is friends will bring thier friends over to my ranch to shoot and once they start shooting my 10/22s they want one too "Just like that one" as they point to one of my tricked out rugers. I have over 25 custom 10/22s for people so far. I enjoy building rifles and keeping our 2nd amndt strong.

  • @shoktroop I believe you are onto something with the custom shop idea, even if you just do it online and from your home. Only problem I can foresee is firearms dealer license, etc. Many people like myself are going out to purchase survival gear, including .22 caliber. I am looking for stock options that will allow for a bipod, since I don't want to put one on the barrel... is this the T6?

  • @Revelation2ten Yes this is the T6 stock. I have the Yankee Hill bipod adapter for all my T6 stocks. It is a bipod/picitinni adapter that allows you to put a bipod on a T6 or any other weapon that has a bottom pic rail. A Ruger 10/22 is the best survival 22 on the planet. Very easy to operate, reliable and spare parts are cheap. I would purchase an extractor, ejector, firing pin and all the springs for the rifle. Just to be safe cuz when the zombies are on ya it will be too late to order parts!

  • where did u get that black butt cover? im looking for one.

  • @offroadranger4x4 I got it off of MidwayUSA. Cost about $10. If you shoot for long periods of time like I do it makes it more comfortable. The plastic stock kinda digs into your armpit/shoulder. I am all about comfort when I shoot.

  • @shoktroop hey thanks!!!! thats a sweet weapon!!

  • Dude where did you get the extended muzzle brake?

  • @Scorpiuszeroone DPMS Flash Hider 5-1/2" Length 1/2"-28 Thread Pre-Ban AR-15 Matte. MidwayUSA Product #: 275983 $16.99. I friggen LOVE this brake! It makes the rifle looks sweet as all hell and gives it that "Nam" Car15 look.

  • @shoktroop Agreed on all counts! Looks sweet. I'm thinking about having my barrel shortened a bit and getting it threaded. Thanks man!

  • HELL YEAH DEVIL THATS WHATS UP.

  • what brand is the sling??

  • @TheRugermachine Standard AR/M16 military sling GI issue. About $10

  • @shoktroop where did you get that USMC logo?!?!?

  • @ManTheHarpoons9 I took it off my dress cover (Hat in civilian words) You can also pick them up an military stores/surplus.

  • What Bi-Pod do you recommend if any, the Harris 6"-9" or the 9"-13"? You've inspired me to build a "RAT CLONE". I just got the stock and Mueller Red Dot. I have to say this is my favorite gun. I have a Grendel and others but this one feels great in hand. Thanks again!

  • @freddys2fast4u Bipod is off the Rat as of late. If you look at my video Whats it like to get shot at and a few other videos you can see the Rat in its final configuration. Mueller Red dot and I replaced the bipod with a Hellfighter Tactical light holder and a Surefire G2. The Rat is my field gun I tow around in the back and front fields when I take my dogs out. We have TONS of coyotes and at night those bastards like to pop out so thats why I put the tactical light on. Lightem up and BAM!

  • @shoktroop 10-4! Watch your back on those Coyotes. I saw the final config and that's how I'm gonna set mine up too. Do you use a sling on it at all? I've been carrying mine all over with me, in the house, yard, garage, everywhere. I'm just trying to get muscle memory use to it for now. Your right, a lot of people doubt the .22 cal but I think that this set up is ideal. Most shots are gonna be within the 100 yard range. It's all about practice and shot placement. Thanks again.

  • @freddys2fast4u I rarely use a sling. When I do use a sling it is standard M16 sling. Nothing fancy. I carry the rifle African style when slung. (Backwards/upside down) So if I need be I can slng her up into possition. But normaly if slung I carry an MKIII on my hip for quckdraw or fast shooing if I need to in a pinch. Ya about the .22 you can extend the lethal range if you use CCI Velociters. It is a .40grn speeding mad man! I love CCI ammo. Stingers and Velociters give an extra punch!

  • @freddys2fast4u As far as the bipod goes I really never ever used it. I have far to many other precision .22s that need/use bipods so I just took it of and added the light. I never found myself shooting the Rat from prone or the bench. Its light enought to shoot off had VERY accurately. But if you get a bipod get Harris all the way. 6-9 is good for bench and 9-13 is good for field prone.

  • Good looking carbine you have.

  • Shok man you have got some of the best videos about .22 rifles and the ammo. I have been trying to convince zombie nerds about how the .22 is a great caliber for zombies. the ammo is light weight and it's effective.

  • @LaGrandeBeaute Thank you sir! People are so brainwashed over caliber size or foot pounds of energy. They just dont get the fact that it is blood loss from being shot by the standard bullet that is what kills. NOT the energy or trauma from the bullet. I have shot my share of bad guys with my M16 when in the Marines and I can tell you without a doubt the bullet's energy didnt do squat! Ya it helps but most hits are in random parts of the body damaging arterys creating blood loss and death.

  • I made the first long bbl 10/22 back in 1987 when i worked for the oldest gun store in Cali, volquartsen trigger sear and hammer. with 21in crowned custom bbl. If you ever get to AZ lets go shooting. I get targets out to 150 yards no sweat. the 22 rifle is the most accurate gun you can get. 1st and 5th way before there changed it to blah blah security unit

  • I really like the way you have this one. I've never looked at or used a red dot scope. Would it be practical for vermin with a 3 moa dot? I tried to type an add-on to my comment on your other video regarding the bull vs reg barrel stock but it didn't go through. I do agree with you about the reg stock being nicer looking. Thanks for the videos.

  • @nobull60 This may sound unreal but the Rat is VERY accurate out to 225 and maybe better. I can hit a 3x4 inch gong at 225 with it! Using the 3MOA dot. The 3MOA dot is EXCELLENT FOR VERMIN! hehe
