@Katey2004, I knew from he beginning he was going to die, or be tortured in a horrific way, as soon as he was my favorite character. My favorites always get it in the end. But he, I like the show too, and if it came back on (It was cancelled so it probably won't) it would most likely follow up on HOW the end of the world happened, so Topher would still be there...

I watched one episode of Firefly and Wash started to be my favorite character but I stopped watching because I thought to myself "I bet he's going to die." what is amazing about this show is really its symbolism of society and human life.

Topher is playing God, in a society where people are powerless and dependent on him.

the dolls depend on topher, because they will never be able to fully understand the dollhouse universe.

whereas humans depend on God because they will never be able to fully understand the whole universe

Good to see the show getting looked at. Whedon's shows ALWAYS have gotten better as they progressed. Hopefully the same can be said for Dollhouse. I felt that the seasons wrap up was weak. I do like the actor they brought on to player alpha though.

For example, I did not believe episodes portrayals of agent Ballard's (sp?) character working for the dollhouse. They would not need him as the show tried so hard to show us, they don't need anyone. Then at the last moment they tell us they need his skills... ok I will play.. what for? So he can look at some files...

I am not bashing the show as a whole. I like it and have plans to tune in next season, I just have mixed feelings about the episode "Omega".

So the Times is suddenly promoting Whedon-related shows? Well they did have the "Doll" panel and Espenson's doing something else. Maybe w/enough promo, there's a slim chance the show might actually get to realize Joss's full 5 year plan for it.
