I love this version and saw it live. Wish they had done the Broadway version more like this one. I'm still hoping for the show to be reprised with original characters so they can do a proper film version. FYI, Robert Cuccioli is 6'1 so she has to be wearing heels. HIs shoes look very flat and he's crouching.

This version of the show is way better than the version that opened on Broadway. I've heard that the Robin Phillips, the Broadway director, wanted a less dark 'family-friendly' version of Jekyll and Hyde, which is why the show underwent such drastic rewrites before opening on Broadway. I never understood why they brought in another director for Broadway instead of just transfering Gregory Boyd's original production there.
So glad to see that they did do this scene more like the movie adaptations before someone lost their marbles and we ended up with... well, what we ended up with.
Is Robert shorter than Linda or is this some kind of optical illusion? Like are they making Hyde appear shorter as in the book? Or am I just seeing things XP
I like this better than the version that was officially done on Broadway. I have the DVD with David Hasselhoff, and I found that there just wasn't enough depth for me, but this has much more depth. It's just much more engaging.
It's very different from Broadway version, they cut so many scenes, and songs! I think this version is way better, tell me, can you please find "Bring on the men"? Thank you!!!
@crawlfan Technically No This is The Full Version Of Alive The Reprise For This One is Shorter Then The One Your Thinking Of And Happens When The Bishop Dies Later on. Atleast Thats How it Happened in The German Cast That Had The Long one.
@xXEViLLSARGEXx I'm aware of that, but the person I was replying to was under the impression that there was a reprise separate from this song, so I linked them to the part of the song that resembles the reprise from the Broadway production. Also, Why Do You Capitalize Every Single Word You Type? It's Grammatically Incorrect And Gets Really Annoying.
@crawlfan Correct Me if i'm Wrong But i Thought There Was A Separate Reprise From This One? And My Caps Are A Result of my hands getting carried away without me noticing
@xXEViLLSARGEXx It's actually kind of hard to explain because this version of the show is different from the one that ended up on Broadway. Here, Alive is technically reprised, but at a different point in time than in the Broadway production and with a much different set up/staging. They might have reprised the "I feel I'll live on forever," etc section towards the end of the act, but I'm not too sure. I never saw this version of the show, so in retrospect, nothing I'm saying makes any sense.
@crawlfan No, there was a reprise version of Alive that was the last song in Act 1, right before intermission. Its when Hyde confronts the priest on the ramp. He crosses himself as he sings.
