I have got a very good hint for you to keeping the nice old Engine in good shape with todays ultra dry eco fuels: Use 1:100 API TC two stroke oil / fuel mix as regular driving fuel, that keeps the old fuel-system gaskets, rubber parts, alloy parts etc... and cast iron metal surfaces of those vintage engines in excellent shape...and it also lubricates the valves and upper piston regions. Most Porsche vintage owners in Germany do so :) Also keeps carbs and tank clean and rustfree!
Why did Japan only make a small number of these? They could have made millions of them and people would have bought them worldwide? Japan is not another country it is another world. Imagine a world where someone has thought of a way to solve damn near any problem you might encounter, where its government takes care of its people, where the environment is not all fucked up. Welcome to Japan. No wonder why they never left the Islands. No wonder why the rest of the world is 40 years behind them.
@Expatriate1977 you also gotta ask, why did the Japanese Government think that all cars should be limited to 280 hp or under until the late 90s/early 2000s
@alexander1485 knowing how the government runs i'm pretty sure they ran most of the aftermarket tuning kits business and such... sell the cars with low horsepower and having others wanting more and having to get after market parts to tune it up. its a conspiracy i tell ya!
@idkyoo Well, Toyota got Shelby for one year to race their cars in 1968, too bad that Toyota didn't make any more real head turners in the 70s. (aside from possibly the celica)
@Expatriate1977 Um. I think you're forgetting their invasion and occupation of China in the last century and attempted domination of the the pacific--it was called World War II!?!?!? Please don't say they never left the islands--they tried. Also, don't forget they're the worst at poaching whales and slaughtering dolphins--talk about environmentally sensitive. HA!

i love this car, a roofed version looks way better, it was made to rival the jag e-type but in my opinion the 2000gt looks better. it wouldn't suprize me if it didnt break down half as much and also was better balanced also knowing the japanese and pride in build quality.

Very nice. I wish cars today had gauges across the top like that. It just looks better than cramming them all together like most cars do.
