They would have survived if the steel alloy would be able to endure the temperatures achieved during the burning of aircraft fuel but it would be far too costly to research.

Research has been done. Read the BIBLE. It is in there. There has been fighting in that reagion for THOUSANDS of years before the "west" came into existance. Good try. The Taliban and the US Army have nothing to do with it. Oh, and by the way, all those numbers mean is that the Army are better trained. That is all that means. Dude, there has been fighting in EVERY region for thousands of years! many of those millions of dead are civilians the US bombed into oblivion in their ignorance! How would you like it if some country, claiming they were right, barged into your country and killed everything they thought was evil willy-nilly?!
When you have nothing left to fight with, you will fight with your life. The Taliban are fighting using the only way they can. I do not condone it, suicide is never acceptable.

That's not fighting, strapping some explosives to yourself running into the middle of a crowd of your own people hoping someone you want to kill is nearby, i really would not call that fighting. The reason so many civillians are dead? Can you tell the difference between someone trying to kill you and someone not trying to? Over there i really doubt it, it's not "The West" destroying those civillians and that country it's the cowardice of the men that are performing their Jihad.
