I used the link in the description for the 4 different Canon *D's, updated my 500d firmware and when i loaded the ML file onto the card after unzipping it i reinserted the battery and now it wont turn on!!!

This video is little bit out dated! Now there is ONLY ONE LINK for 50D 500D 550D and 600D ! And you dont have to do this tricks with battery! What I did I just uploaded files to the card since my firmware was already 1.0.1 on T3i. And ran the update! I didn't have to make SD card bootable since new ML packages does it for you! That is it:) Works great

I have the following files in my magiclantern folder cropmks - doc - autoexec - FONTS.DAT - INSTALL - (** ML -**d.fir FILES 50D - 60D - 500D - 550D - 600D) - README - rectilin.lut - User Guide......

I have a T1i, and have got to the part where i have done the firmware updates, removed the battery, loaded the Magiclantern files onto the card, put the card and battery bk in and now it wont switch on... im assuming i didnt have the right files on????

Is my camera wrecked now?.... if not can someone explain and link me to the files i need on my card and explain in simple terms for me....

when i try to copy the file to my sd card it says you do not have permission to create a new file???

Are you using a printer with card reader??? Or it's just a standar card reader???

@pickachukabalooie as i know they never make one for 500d its only 60d/600d, 5d mark II and 550d CMIIW

@estanislaozuleta Actually you had to upgrade your firmware to 1.0.9 in case to install ML and also new firmware 1.1.0 came out but ML is in progress for that version and beta testers needed.

is there anyway you could record more than 4gb movie file or 30mins movie file using this firmware?

@HussamAbuHanna yes it is and you need a class 10 SDHC card or whatever better is on the market plus you have to change settings in ML but you will loose 2 seconds every time new file is created and also you might experience camera overheating in that case you can't do anything!

@scornofx Yes I did and it's working properly but sometimes freezes (happened twice) what you need to do in this case is remove battery for like 10 seconds.
