  • Thanks man this is the same concept for my 81 Honda too. But I popped my seals out with air threw the air assist valve. I did realize there was a hex bolt in the bottom of the fork. Now it came apart alot easier. Thanks again!

  • 'light sand paper' means at least 2000 grit.

  • I liked this video and the way it described the PROCESS of replacing your seals.

I also became aware of a product called sealmate, so I tried it and it worked great. My fork seals were leaking, and I was going to replace them, however my friend told me about the sealmate tool. I can't believe it worked so well. My fork seals were fixed and I actually didn't have to replace the seals. Google search sealmate and check it out, it might save you some time and money.

  • Excellent Video...the only thing I would add is, make sure the work area is free of grit, sand, dirt anything that can damage the new seal. The most important thing when working with any type of hydraulic seal is make sure your work area is clean.

Fork seals usually prematurely go bad because of poor install. I work on my bike my self as well because the Bike shops here in Rochester,NY suck to say the least.

  • basket case rebuild ,, i took out the spring first ? and went to pour the last oil out and it locked up ? sanction tube wont pump so i cant take it apart
