  • Love this song, R.I.P. Sylvia...

  • First time I've heard this song since the 60's when we used to do it in a local dance band. It's even better than I remembered.

  • @jpsmart59 As well as produced songs for legendary groups like The Moments, Sugar Hill Gang and Grandmaster Flash and the Furious 5 among others.

  • RIP Sylvia. Mickey Baker will be 86 years old next month.

  • Thanks for the information. Johnny

  • @aldeb456: 1957

  • Anyone know what year this song was recorded? I would really appreciate it.

  • Sad but gone already! Bye Sylvia, see you! I didn't know she sang "Pillow Talk"

    and this song!

  • Requiescat in pace

  • RIP Sylvia, thank u for the music and being one of the earliest believers in hip hop

  • What an incredible legacy, the woman kicked ass in the business world! Talented and clever. The guitar solo came to me the minute I read the title. It's infectious.

The song Pillow Talk is HOT too. Way beyond it's time. Suggestive and sexy conversation, what a blast from the past.

    RIP Miss Robinson.

  • @LyricLove101 You said it,,, I checked out her other joints last couple of weeks, glad I was just a baby then, cuz I would've blown my money on her.. lol I aslo remember young Randy and Janet Jackson doing this number along with other duet covers.

  • RIP Sylvia, Thankyou for all the great tunes I grew up with. No one could ever replace you. PillowTalk forever!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @american1476 Go fuck yourself!

  • @MrCherrypie69 Why couldn't Buddy cover it? Does it only belong to you? He added a different lower harmony. His version was pretty nice. Your's isn't.

  • @MrCherrypie69 pervert a typical moral relativist with a sex act in their name

  • @american1476 Originally it was going to be JesusChrist69 ;)

  • @american1476 Not to shatter your dream, but the 50's lifestyle that people hold up as a pinnacle of morality is idealism. The "good old days that never were", if I may quote the title of an excellent book.

  • @american1476 you do realize the almost blatant sexual undertones of this song right?

  • @heyjudette blatant undertone kind of an oxymoron don't you think?

  • BADLANDS.

  • Casino!!

  • baby my sweet baby ur the one

  • I think Buddy Holly recorded this before he died.

  • Such an uderestimated guitar riff. One of my favs of all time. That lead just cries the blues,

  • they look black 2 me

  • That LP cover is a hoot. Illustration makes them look like what? white? black? asian?

They thought they had to fudge that stuff back then to sell a black act to a white audience.

    Mickey was a good guitarist.

  • @shafer9 - Mickey did most of his work as much in demand session guitarist for a lot of the best artists of that era.

  • The Wire

  • Dirty Dancing!

Mikey: How you call your loveryboy?

    Sylvia: COME HERE LOVERBOYYYY!!

  • @ChefnKicks

    TOO BRILLIANT.

    "Baby You're the one!"

    Fabulous.

  • such good memories :) xxx

and that sexy voice she has......... mmmmm

  • Bo didley is an alleged co-writer - not proven!

  • Many many people take it for a GAME !

  • Just found out that this is the same Sylvia that sang "Pillowtalk"...circa 1970's...very sexy song...wow

  • @iappreciategoodmusci yep the same one !!!!!

  • these were the equals to les paul and mary ford - in a sense :) i love all of 'em

  • A little whimsy with jangly guitars and solid harmonies....

  • This is a Cha-Cha..a lot of R&R music used this Rhythm..American Cha Cha is danced back & forth. Afro-Cuban Cha Cha Cha is sideways with a jump & skip. The B&W Mexican movies show a lot of dancing from 40's-50's..Peace Via Music ..VIVA MARIA!

  • @magcarril of course you don't know what is cha cha cha. me das lastima con tus comentarios

    Saludo

  • @harfuch1 Yo me crie en ambas culturas tambien la de Rock & Roll y hubieron muchos musicos que la usaron entre ellos: Mary Wells; You beat me to the Punch; Two Lovers; The one who really loves you; Martha Reeve & Vandellas: A Love like yours don't come knockin' every day..Drifters, casi todo: Up on the Roof, There Goes my baby, Under the Boardwalk, Ben E. King: Save the Last dance for me...A rose in Spanish Harlem; Blanquitos: Venus-Frankie Avalon-Diana-Paul Anka- It's now or never-Elvis, etc..

  • Tremelo!

by the picture she is playing the electric guitar, so is she also playing those dirty(a compliment) ass leads too? or is it just for show?

  • @willthemarquee.....no those are bo didleys chords and he played it in the studio recording....he was the co-writer of the song, and wrote the guitar parts.....true,check it out...

  • This song is so good that even "Dirty Dancing" couldn't wreck it.

  • makes me think of patrick on the floor mmmmm :) :)

  • is it sad i can see the whole scene play out in my head whenever i hear this song?

  • 0 people think love is familiar.

  • @Secroves pain is

  • Paul McCarntey does a good version of this song

  • @ASR10MAN Yeah I love his version, it's sick!

  • if glee covers this i swear to god i will kill all the of the cast
