Mark 16:15-16 also says that we should Go, Preach, and he that is baptized shall be saved, he that believeth not shall be damned. Jesus said in John 5:39 that He came in his Father's name and John 10:30 "I and my father are one". Colossians 1:15 says Jesus is the image of the invisible God, and Colossians 2:9 says the fullness of the Godhead dwells in Christ. Jesus also refers to himself as the Comforter (the Holy Ghost) in John 16:7.

Regarding the lady quoting Romans etc...missionaries just counter it by saying that the bible is full of mistakes and only the book of mormon is the perfect book, that and doctrines and covenants or the pearl of great price just overwrite the bible...AND then they just tell you to read the book of mormon they "challenge you" to pray about it and feel the burning in your bosom. This is just so ridiculous. I get so tired of people getting all hung up on that "works and grace" thing. What is it with people?? I'm a convert to the LDS church and I read all that stuff over 30 years ago when I was first investigating the church! I understood it back then, with no problem! That was the LEAST of my concerns!! Yet all these ex-mormons I run across online seem to let it rule their lives, so much so that they drop out of the church. Crazy. Please take the time to understand.
All this good kids carry a huge cross, my uncle is gay as well, i love him. He´s no longer a member, but he still talks about his mission, his experiences. And he knows that his choice is not in harmony with God´s and that he needs to change. If you want to God tell you that it´s ok to break His laws, forget it, God wil never do that, But he will heal you and give you strength to overcome that temptation.
I'm starting to notice a pattern with many of these young ex-Mormons having virtually no concept of the Bible prior to their leaving the church. Christ saves us from death and original sin and brings us back into God's presence, and then will judge us according to our works. Mercy can not rob justice. I believe in grace too. But I also believe in justice and judgement. That takes nothing away from Christ, he is my Savior and Redeemer.

And modern bibles are based on the most comprehensible reconstruction of the original texts, that is, they are based on what is most probably the original manuscript.

Matthew 16:27. 25:24-40 These scriptures state that we are Judged according to our works in this life. Grace only extends to people that keep the commandments. If we are saved simply by believing in Jesus, there is no need for good works, or repentance.. Your taking the bible apart and focussing on only 1 bit of doctrine. There are two types of people in the world, Jews and the Gentiles, Jesus was jewish, and the Jews are of one fold, the gentiles are of another. The gentiles haven't been exposed to the gospel of Jesus at this time, it was later down the road after Jesus ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God, that Saul that became Paul and the other apostles that went to the gentile nations to preach the gospel.

You misunderstand. James is teaching that if you say you have true Faith, yet produce no Good Works (Which are a true testimony of Jesus) then you do not have a Faith that is capable of Saving you. The problem that you overlook is that if you have Faith, then you are Saved already. The fruit of True Faith is Good Works. No amount of works can save you. They are nothing but filthy rags to God. Christians are to rest in Jesus from their works toward their own Salvation. That is Faith.

You do not understand. You have twisted the Word of God. You said "works alone cannot save you" when the truth is that no amount of works can save you. We are to rest in Jesus from our works toward our own Salvation and rely on the works he did for us on the Cross, then being saved through demonstrating that Faith, we do Good Works not out of fear for our Salvation (because we are saved already), but rather we work out of Love for JEsus. Good Works are a true testimony of JEsus.

Paul was teaching scoffers such as yourself that there are two categories of beings, those with physical bodies on the earth and those with spiritual bodies in the heavens. We learn from the Bible that we are to obtain glorified bodies. Paul distinguishes between our imperfect, mortal bodies, to being raised in power and glory. There is a difference in glory between that which is of the flesh and that, which is of the spirit.

You cannot keep the old law and the New Covenant. The Bible teaches it must be one or the other and only one leads to life. Keeping the Law in order to earn Salvation leads to death. Paul teaches us that we can fall from Grace; however, we will still be Saved but only as one escaping through the flames and not from the flames (Baptism of fire). We will suffer loss as all of the bad works will be burned up. Study 1 Corinthians 3. I you are still confused take off your LDS blinders.
Once you are Saved by Grace through Faith alone, you will out of Love for Jesus go out into the World and perform Good works, not out of fear for your Salvation, because you are already saved, but out of Love for Christ. Good works are a True Testimony of Jesus in both what we say and what we do. If you build falsely on that foundation before receiving Salvation how will you ever be Saved? If you build falsely after being Saved already, how will you build up treasures in Heaven?

Mormons love to quote James in defending their Work for Salvation error, however they have yet to explain why James is referring to those who claim to be Saved already. Jesus is the only way to be Saved. You need to develop a personal relationship with Him and not seek that relationship through a man claiming to commune with Him. There is no co-redeemer. Smith is not going to be at the gate waiting to let you pass. If he is then I would suggest that you are at the wrong gate.

"why did Jesus say, Show me thy faith without thy works, and i will show you my faith" James said that. And agin he is starting with Faith and therefore is Saved already. Now He will show you his Good Works and testify truthfully of Jesus because he is saved and he loves Him. I do not deny the BIble that is your job and you will have to do it sooner or later in order to hold onto the lies. I reconcile the scriptures and they testify of truth for me. I don't take a man's word for it.

What you do not say is more important than what you do say. What you are not saying is that your church teaches that salvation is simply resurrection. Why don't you show us all where it says in the Bible that Salvation will not allow us to enter into the Kingdom of God? @llegggo I am not avoiding the question, I gave you the answer Romans 10:9-13, that how we get saved, water baptism is only symbolic showing the "old" man (sinful man) died when we get saved, and the showing a ressurected man (forgiven man) coming up out of the water cleansed by water and the bllod of Christ. We do not worship the cross, the cross is where Jesus took all of our sins and died for us in our place so we may have eternal life thru Christ Jesus and Him alone.

Just to be clear there are many members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints who didn't grow up in the Gospel . They had all the so called ''freedoms'' growing up everyone claims on these videos makes them so happy now They left the world behind and have been members from 3 years to 6 years and more and they say they can't imagine their lives without the gospel . Why is there an assumption that someone left the LDS Church because they could not "Live up to its standards"? People leave the Church because God opens their eyes through His Word as recorded in the Holy Bible and they come to know that the doctrines of the LDS Church are the doctrines of men and not of God. You obviously did not listen to the video where he explains why he left. Will you remain deaf, dumb and blind to the Word of God?
@maximusjay Why did God open my eyes through a plain reading of the Bible then to deny protestant orthodoxy? Christ never said I had to accept the extrabiblical creeds of Constantine in order to be considered a Christian. Faith is not evidenced by words alone, but is a belief that both inspires and requires action. Mormons are not alone but stand with the vast marjority of the Christian religions of the world (including Catholism) in testifying that indeed faith without works is dead.
Let me just say I live in Florida now and I can see what this former missionary might have gone through because I am a student in college here and have many discussions with my peers. I just challenge you to find out for yourself and not base any of your testimony on anyone else because if you do it will not last.

"Bearing Fruit" for God is sharing the Gospel of Christ, the Good News that even though you as a human being are a horrible sinner, inside and out, that Christ because of His love for you died for you on the cross as the penalty for your sins. Then choose wisely, for one of them represents God and one represents the Devil. A wrong choice could lead you to destruction. However, if you are not first grounded in the Word, you may find yourself succored into destruction by the bad choice that seems to have the best of intentions.

In Jesus time the religious leaders used the law of God to exult themselves amongst others, to boast in their own efforts. Jesus is the name of the Father, The Son and the Holy Ghost! Also, look at the story of Thomas in John 20, and the story in John chapter 8.That's why in the second chapter of Acts after the Holy spirit had been poured out, Peter stood up and when asked "What must I do to be saved, he said Repent, and be baptized everyone of you in the NAME of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost".

Mark 16:15-16 also says that we should Go, Preach, and he that is baptized shall be saved, he that believeth not shall be damned. Jesus said in John 5:39 that He came in his Father's name and John 10:30 "I and my father are one". Colossians 1:15 says Jesus is the image of the invisible God, and Colossians 2:9 says the fullness of the Godhead dwells in Christ. Jesus also refers to himself as the Comforter (the Holy Ghost) in John 16:7.

Regarding the lady quoting Romans etc...missionaries just counter it by saying that the bible is full of mistakes and only the book of mormon is the perfect book, that and doctrines and covenants or the pearl of great price just overwrite the bible...AND then they just tell you to read the book of mormon they "challenge you" to pray about it and feel the burning in your bosom. This is just so ridiculous. I get so tired of people getting all hung up on that "works and grace" thing. What is it with people?? I'm a convert to the LDS church and I read all that stuff over 30 years ago when I was first investigating the church! I understood it back then, with no problem! That was the LEAST of my concerns!! Yet all these ex-mormons I run across online seem to let it rule their lives, so much so that they drop out of the church. Crazy. Please take the time to understand.

All this good kids carry a huge cross, my uncle is gay as well, i love him. He´s no longer a member, but he still talks about his mission, his experiences. And he knows that his choice is not in harmony with God´s and that he needs to change. If you want to God tell you that it´s ok to break His laws, forget it, God wil never do that, But he will heal you and give you strength to overcome that temptation.

I'm starting to notice a pattern with many of these young ex-Mormons having virtually no concept of the Bible prior to their leaving the church. It's quite evident that their former testimonies were never properly rooted in a knowledge of the scriptures. It's not surprising that many of them fall away from the church the minute they are introduced to the wonderful spin of these so called born again evangelicals.

For instance, Jesus taught: "There are those who make themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of God's sake". This refers to celibacy. However, the Mormon Church has taught that this verse refers to missionaries; but the problem is that missionary activity is not mentioned in the context of this passage and as a metaphor being a eunuch refers to a permanent condition, not a temporary one

@101mythbuster More importantly, in the New Testament (especially the Gospels and the epistles of Paul) the Cross is at the centre of the good news. Paul says, "I preach to you nothing save the cross of Christ and him crucified". Why is it then that the profound symbolism of the cross is absent from the LDS Church? There are no crosses in Mormon churches nor in the Temple. The Cross is the focal point of Christian preaching and yet its absent from Mormonism. That is problematic, no?

Hi, this is because you didn't get the core message of the BofM, many precious parts in the Bible have been removed by wicked men during the many translation processes of it, in Rev 20:12 is clear, we gonna be judged by our works. @jonathandavid33 I am not in a religion that teaches grace needs to be earned. I believe in a religion that teaches that there is not just a heaven and a hell. In God's house there are many mansions. Christ saves us from death and original sin and brings us back into God's presence, and then will judge us according to our works. Mercy can not rob justice. I believe in grace too. But I also believe in justice and judgement. That takes nothing away from Christ, he is my Savior and Redeemer.

And modern bibles are based on the most comprehensible reconstruction of the original texts, that is, they are based on what is most probably the original manuscript.

Matthew 16:27. 25:24-40 These scriptures state that we are Judged according to our works in this life. Grace only extends to people that keep the commandments. If we are saved simply by believing in Jesus, there is no need for good works, or repentance.. Your taking the bible apart and focussing on only 1 bit of doctrine. The Grace of christ saves us, but we must bring forth good works,This explains why, found in MATTHEW 16:27, also REVELATIIONS 20:12-13. There are two types of people in the world, Jews and the Gentiles, Jesus was jewish, and the Jews are of one fold, the gentiles are of another. The gentiles haven't been exposed to the gospel of Jesus at this time, it was later down the road after Jesus ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God, that Saul that became Paul and the other apostles that went to the gentile nations to preach the gospel.

You misunderstand. James is teaching that if you say you have true Faith, yet produce no Good Works (Which are a true testimony of Jesus) then you do not have a Faith that is capable of Saving you. The problem that you overlook is that if you have Faith, then you are Saved already. The fruit of True Faith is Good Works. No amount of works can save you. They are nothing but filthy rags to God. We are to rest in Jesus from our works toward our own Salvation and rely on the works he did for us on the Cross, then being saved through demonstrating that Faith, we do Good Works not out of fear for our Salvation (because we are saved already), but rather we work out of Love for JEsus. You cannot keep the old law and the New Covenant. The Bible teaches it must be one or the other and only one leads to life. Keeping the Law in order to earn Salvation leads to death. Paul teaches us that we can fall from Grace; however, we will still be Saved but only as one escaping through the flames and not from the flames (Baptism of fire). We will suffer loss as all of the bad works will be burned up. Study 1 Corinthians 3. I you are still confused take off your LDS blinders.

Once you are Saved by Grace through Faith alone, you will out of Love for Jesus go out into the World and perform Good works, not out of fear for your Salvation, because you are already saved, but out of Love for Christ. Good works are a True Testimony of Jesus in both what we say and what we do. If you build falsely on that foundation before receiving Salvation how will you ever be Saved? If you build falsely after being Saved already, how will you build up treasures in Heaven?

Mormons love to quote James in defending their Work for Salvation error, however they have yet to explain why James is referring to those who claim to be Saved already. What you do not say is more important than what you do say. What you are not saying is that your church teaches that salvation is simply resurrection. Why don't you show us all where it says in the Bible that Salvation will not allow us to enter into the Kingdom of God? What need do we have to repent then ? Why should we be baptised then ? Jesus Christ was baptised by immersion, You believe in him but you don't follow what he does ?? I believe, Faith in Jesus Christ save us. But the need for works are just as important..

By our works, we show our faith. James 2:17 even so, faith if it hath not works is DEAD, being ALONE ! read on and Jesus tells you show me faith with works, and i will show you faith BY works. So in essence, doing works increase faith 2 b saved

@llegggo I am not avoiding the question, I gave you the answer Romans 10:9-13, that how we get saved, water baptism is only symbolic showing the "old" man (sinful man) died when we get saved, and the showing a ressurected man (forgiven man) coming up out of the water cleansed by water and the bllod of Christ. We do not worship the cross, the cross is where Jesus took all of our sins and died for us in our place so we may have eternal life thru Christ Jesus and Him alone.

Why can't you admit it, this guy and the other former missionary found Jesus Christ who is God born of the virgin Mary, the only begotten son of God. Jesus is the Word, and extention of God Himself to man. Done deal, believe in Jesus and do whatever, YOUR SAVED !! when i have already shown you, time and time again that Faith ! if it has NO WORKS, IS DEAD !! being ALONE !! faith alone cant save you. You all read one scripture and neglect the others, when its right there infront of you. Swalloe your pride and accept the whole word of God, not just a portion of it.

I think the guy in the video was disowned by his family cause he found Christ and he said his sister came to know Christ as her saviour and Lord. Just to be clear there are many members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints who didn't grow up in the Gospel . They had all the so called ''freedoms'' growing up everyone claims on these videos makes them so happy now They left the world behind and have been members from 3 years to 6 years and more and they say they can't imagine their lives without the gospel . So everyone doesn't fall under the grew up brainwashed in the church and glory be I'll finally free to be me catagory .

@mollymu1 Your testimony of Jesus Christ is from the Book of Mormon, and this has been scientifically and historically dismissed as fictions created by Joseph Smith; the treasure hunter, Free Mason, and polygamist. You may feel comforted by your church, but I encourage you to look further into Mr. Smith's history and the factual reality of BoM; and not by LDS sources, but by non-biased third party sources.

I already have a personal, saving relationship with my Lord and Savior. Why would I leave my Savior and the personal relationship I have with him which I have found in the LDS faith for the confusing creeds and doctrines of over 1,000 denominations? Is God a God of order, or a God of "whatever works for you?" (One Lord, one Faith, One Baptism.) No, I testify that the long night of apostacy, along with its centuries of confusing pagan creeds, holy wars, witch burnings, and slavery is over.

Why is there an assumption that someone left the LDS Church because they could not "Live up to its standards"? People leave the Church because God opens their eyes through His Word as recorded in the Holy Bible and they come to know that the doctrines of the LDS Church are the doctrines of men and not of God. You obviously did not listen to the video where he explains why he left. Will you remain deaf, dumb and blind to the Word of God?

@maximusjay Why did God open my eyes through a plain reading of the Bible then to deny protestant orthodoxy? Christ never said I had to accept the extrabiblical creeds of Constantine in order to be considered a Christian. Faith is not evidenced by words alone, but is a belief that both inspires and requires action. Mormons are not alone but stand with the vast marjority of the Christian religions of the world (including Catholism) in testifying that indeed faith without works is dead.

Let me just say I live in Florida now and I can see what this former missionary might have gone through because I am a student in college here and have many discussions with my peers. I just challenge you to find out for yourself and not base any of your testimony on anyone else because if you do it will not last.

@mollymu1 The fruit of a Christian in bringing others to faith in the true Jesus Christ. "Bearing Fruit" for God is sharing the Gospel of Christ, the Good News that even though you as a human being are a horrible sinner, inside and out, that Christ because of His love for you died for you on the cross as the penalty for your sins. The LDS church cannot have any true fruit because they teach a false gospel that is based on individual works and not on the saving grace of Christ. God bless.

When we die, our spirit leaves our body. and what ? we are already saved ? so i can believe in jesus and just muck around and sin as much as i want... But.. im already saved because of the grace of Christ ? NO ! wrong !! We are judged after death.. According to our works. Our good works make us worthy to inherit the fathers kingdom. we can get there with the grace of christ. but to enter we need to have done good works.

For truth about the LDS or Baptists, first go to the Word as revealed in the Holy Bible, then go their web-sites & test everything that they teach against the Bible & see what is true & what is false. Then choose wisely, for one of them represents God and one represents the Devil. A wrong choice could lead you to destruction. However, if you are not first grounded in the Word, you may find yourself succored into destruction by the bad choice that seems to have the best of intentions.

You certainly know nothing of the History of Religions. Jehovah's Witness was founded in 1879 by Charles Taze Russell, a Pennsylvania businessman. Mormons by Joseph Smith in Palmyra New York circa 1833. Jimmy Swaggered is not a religion nor is Rex Hubbard or Jim Patterson non of which are from where you speak.
Like I said, stick to entertainment. I hope you are a little more competent in that arena.

In Jesus time the religious leaders used the law of God to exult themselves amongst others, to boast in their own efforts. It wasn’t about glorifying God on their Channel, look at some of these sites who spend their time putting down lds and NOT glorifying their God instead, they claim to love him..
