boywhoy88's entire "Sermon" revolves around the assumption that EVERYBODY must believe already... and that you just need to open your mind to that fact... well "boy", it takes more than abject faith to prove the existence of your or any other god, whichever one of the literally thousands that are believed to exist.
The saddest part of your argument is that you really believe that because YOU think that you know it's automatically true.
With your logic you already lost to Islam because of the Al Qaida kamikaze pilots... I'm sure that they KNEW for themselves TOO that Allah will reward them...
Because they pesonally knew for themselve it's automatically true that Islam is the true religion?!
What about the Jesuses in the Asylums?! They think they know they are, so the really are?!
People already know about Jesus. They have eyes, they have brains, they can read a book. What you need to do is tell them why the stories they've heard or read about Jesus are true, and why that matters to them. You'll get nowhere just making baseless assertions.
Tacitus said - the more laws a society has, the more corrupt it becomes. People want a vote to impose their lifestyle on others, and politicians stop insider-trading long enough to write bills and enact laws that make some minority or other criminals if we don't live like religious paranoids.
I am so sick of christians like the ones commenting here spouting thier beliefs as fact-spinning shit like 'you need to let jesus into your life'having zero tolerance for any belief that isnt christian-belief is not fact its belief-its not fact that the bible is gods word-its a belief&and - just as it isnt a fact that god doesnt exist-its a belief-have the respect for others that you demand for yourself-stop telling others what they need to believe-enjoy your faith&live and let live!
@Blackman1000ify prove it. In fact I've been thinking the differences between humanity and the rest of the animal kingdom. Humans are a curious species and as a result they have lost a 6th sense to speak. Remember the 2004 tsunami. Curiosity killed the cat. lol. No other animals were harmed in that incident. So please disprove god without using your so-called "logic" which is also a byproduct of the brain.
@ajhrockerboy6 Atheist's have less of a burden to disprove god than you do of disproving every god and deity you don't believe in. It is not possible to disprove a negative so, because I can't disprove it than Unicorn's must exist and they're ridden into battle by warrior Leprechaun's whose taste for flesh is insatiable. Disprove that.
@iBLESSEDyurFALL those are ridiculous atheist responses. you should read alister mcgrath's book called the dawkins delusion. he's also a microbiologist.
@iBLESSEDyurFALL continued from previous-> we have physics giving rise to chemistry, chemistry giving rise to biology, and biology giving rise to us. So what is the something? that something is god.
@ajhrockerboy6 You're talking gibberish. The Bible shows that this Jesus guy spoke and taught many absurd and foolish things, and often believed he was having a conversation with devils. Jesus is a myth just like all the other saviors and gods of old. Jesus is just like Zeus, the only difference was that Emperor Constantine made Christianity the official religion of the Roman Empire. That's the reason we still got Jesus freaks like you whining about it. Beat it loser.
@ajhrockerboy6 Bullshit and emotional appeal are all you have. No historians contemporary to Jesus even mention him. The gospel writers never even met Jesus, the authors are unknown and the original manuscripts have not been found. It is all hearsay. Emotional attachment, like yours, does not make the buy bull true, only more suspect.
@ajhrockerboy6 You didn't even listen to the video with an open mind/heart and you probably thumbed it down. You just came to here to act like a "christian" douchebag and use emotional blackmail to try to convince others. Most of us have been down that childish road and we ain't going back. Grow up, bitch.
Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as [they were] from the beginning of the creation. For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished: II Peter 3:3-6
"Its not some thing like brain but Some one like you in side talk to you. That is your original identity. That inner man does not die but come out from your body when you die physically. That is your Spirit."
So people with dissociative identity disorder have more than 1 soul?!
There are three answers:
There are souls, and somebody did a bad job placing them.
There is a soul and DID is work of demons.
There are no souls.
Of course I'm referring to the christian view on souls...
When your girl friend cheat, which part of your body gets hurt ? When you face loneliness, your parents separated which part of your body you feel insecure ? When bad boys bullies you, which part of your body experience rejection and pain. When some one abuse you, which part of your body get angry. When you feel depression and suicidal thoughts come in your mind, which part of body want to escape from darkness and fear ? Dear friend we get hurt in our soul and spirit more than a physical body.

2) You can also see that persons without brain sectors responsible for special emotions can't feel them.
If you think that soul is the same as the physical body, than we have an explanation for this phenomenon. But then we don't have to call it soul anymore, right?
If you instead believe there is a separate soul, why this people can't even undestand some emotions you would describe them?!
According to a study in the American Journal of American Psychiatry, atheists have a substantial higher rate of suicide than people that have some type of religious affiliation. I think this study shows how rewarding being an atheist can be....like being unhappy, unfulfilled, bitter, depressed, detached, and generally overall miserable people.
Scientist, philosophers, theologians, evolutionist, writers, authors all born and dies. Death is the most unwanted truth in human life. Bible deals Death and life after death. Recently great writer, debater, intelligent atheist died with cancer. He became famous did his work, fight with God then lost the battle with Death and gone. After few years every body will be forget him. He was Christopher Hitchen. Science is Good but Bible deals Life, Death, human heart, morality, emotions and Sin
Yeah, btu there is a problem in your logic... there is not only the bible but many other religions, myths, philosophies and simple worldviews based on the thinking about "Life, Death, human heart, morality, emotions and Sin" and here the real debate should start... why should the bible be THE SOURCE?!
@DrVladUs To add to this, we already know what the human heart does, it pumps blood. Anything people afiliate with the human heart clearly dont know that is all it does, pumps blood around your body.
talking about biology in context of burning in hell is a interesting task to do)
Think about our eternal souls, burning in hellfire (very creative), without nerves...
How does the soul-pain feel )
Pain is an illusion created in the brain to help the organism to survive, but the guys in the Bronze Age had no clue about that, so they came with eternal pain in hellfire... why not acid, or killer ants?
Dillahunty is rapidly becoming my new favorite public atheist now that Christopher Hitchens is gone (may Zeus have mercy on his soul). I really think we need more "Red State" (for lack of a better term) Americans to come out as nonbelievers if we are to get believers in this country to accept us as normal people who aren't hostile to American values.
Sorry but, what? Why should smoking, drinking, "messing with prostitutes" and playing video games qualify one as hellbound? And do you honestly believe that punishing people forever would be the choice an all-good/knowing/powerful god would make? As if it would take anyone more than ten seconds to think of a more just way to keep sinners out of heaven. How about reincarnation, for example? Let people live their lives on earth until they've qualified for eternal life. Why would god cho
so losing your fate then joining the other side to hate your formal self in public makes you an atheist?Hmmmm since when ?Is this guy getting payed for his show ?I don't get paid being an atheist.Maybe i should i make a show with a computer next to me to have my science with me as back up(thank god for WIKI XD) and finish everything with the "where is your proof" question about someone who is placed out of reality (heaven, hell, god)so it can not be proven with any means ...at least his popular
@SegBekur No he is not getting paid for doing the Atheist experience show, or any of the other shows he is a member of.
The reason for the show is a counter measure to people who are hellbent on forcing their beliefs on others.
There is a large majority in the United States who are trying to undermine science and education, to abuse children by denying them the education they deserve.
We have to stand up to this kind of bullying, or else we will be marching in locksteps toward the 13th century.
Theists are constantly harassing atheists with the whole "no morals" load of bull, but it seems to me that atheists are far and away more moral than theists. A theist needs for there to be some invisible big brother watching them to make sure they do the right thing. An atheist can do the right thing for no other reason than the fact that they believe it's the right thing to do. Religion is for the weak.
Sooooo really at his young age,he was a un-repentant false convert who didnt know what repentance and sin was, who later on grew up wanted to have a relationship with God by the means of doing "works" probably wanted some signs in his life to prove that God exists with his finances and health or a miraculous sign, then he really couldnt convince his friend to repent and put his trust in the Savior because he didnt, and then he realized his false conversion and became a self admitted athiest.
@TheCh1212 Look up the "no-true Scotsman" argument. I believe this is what you have done. Claimed that this man wasn't a "true Christian", when in fact he was a better Christian than 99% of the ones I've seen. "un-repentant false convert". You attack him with false accusations, because you can't deny the irony that this atheist was better at following Christ than you were.Did you become ordained in your faith? Have you joined the army to protect YOUR country? THere is no God, but no one.
@jdd94 You can call it whatever you want. Jesus called it many things (Bad Fish,Weed,Foolish Builder,Goat..etc) Jesus talked more about True/False Converstion and Hell than anything else, why? He wanted to stress the importance of Salvation. Because eternity is forever. The Bible says when you are saved you are a NEW CREATION(2 Corinthians 5:17),new creations dont backslide, new creations dont habitually sin (1John 3:6). (PART 1)
@jdd94 (PART 2) JUDGE a tree by its fruit Jesus said (Matthew 12:33) Because we're not saved by comparison to other people,we're not saved by how "good" we are,no we're NOT good,no not ONE the Bible says, thats WHY we need a Savior,we are saved by Repentance and Grace through Faith in Jesus,Matt clearly did not know,or do this, otherwise he would still be a Christian
@TheCh1212 You're quoting the bible how does that make you're argument true you obviously learned nothing from this wonderful influential video! Such a shame :(
@fgjfdgjf Because Gods word is the only thing with a secure foundation in regards to truth and morals, right and wrong, true and false conversion. And besides if i cant use the Bible, thats like me saying "why DONT you believe in God? Oh,and btw,you cant use ANYTHING you've ever read,or heard either" its just illogical, the Bible IS the proof.
@TheCh1212 Truth and morals really? So it's moral to command someone to sacrifice their own kid (even if he didn't have abraham go thru with it,just the act of commanding him to do it is wrong). How moral is it to wipe just about every living thing on the planet? Or wipe out cities? Or put his chosen people in and out of slavery multiple times? Oh wait how about condoning slavery in the first place. And the best is sending your own son down to be killed to "save" a small group
@TheCh1212 No the bible is proof of nothing other than some guys a long time ago had good imaginations. No one says you can't use anything you've read or heard but if all you read is one book and everything you heard is about that one book and there is no supporting evidence for that book then no it isn't good enough proof. You can tell someone to explain y they think evolution is true but they can't use Darwin's book. They wouldn't have a problem. There is evidence outside the one book
@TheCh1212 Let's see, well there is no evidence of any god. I don't believe in things that have no supporting evidence. Hence why I don't believe in unicorns and leprechauns. And again you totally missed the point. Taking one book as evidence of anything just isn't enough to claim evidence. And if all my evidence is based on that one book, then it is suspect. You need some corroborating evidence and for such an extraordinary claim as a god or jesus, you need some extraordinary proof.
@wraith168 lol "Lets see, well there is no evidence of any god" That is why you dont believe in God? That doesnt make much sense friend. Btw Bible means "books" this isnt just one book made at one time this is 66 books made over a period of 2,000 years of history. And you dont need such evidence for God,you just need a brain that thinks. Nothing cannot create Everything.
@TheCh1212 Well, then that would be "evidence". But why does it have to be 1 god who created the universe? Why not 2 or 10 gods? And if you call the ultimate cause of the universe for god, what other characteristics can you derive from that? That doesn't prove in any way that it's the christian god. What evidence is there for it being the christian god?
@TheCh1212 Your "books" have been changed, edited, censored, cherry picked to be included in the bible so it says whatever the men in charge of the faith wanted it to say. It is a man make book and not divine.
Really not believing in something because there is no evidence of its existing makes no sense? Wow. That statement right there really says a lot about you. You basically don't believe in a god because of evidence or proof. You believe because of faith and hope. I like proof.
@wraith168 No they havnt, hence the discovery of the Qumran scrolls in 1948. Also the Bible gives no hint or indication of bias motives (example, there are many Psalms that point to anger against others for what they have done,or that the Apostles wrote their own humiliating life and shared it with other like being beat and mocked).
The Bible is the proof, show me proof (which i have looked for intently) and ill believe you. (PART 1)
@TheCh1212 Yes it is and your Dead Sea scrolls are evidence of that since many books and additional psalms are apart of the scrolls but never made it into the canonized version of the Hebrew Bible. Like I said, edited, cherry picked, censored, etc. They picked and chose what went into the OT to fit what they felt should be believed. This is the same with the NT.
@TheCh1212 As for your whole something from nothing argument, that is a theist claim. Theist's claim that god made everything from nothing. That everything was put on this earth fully formed and as we see it today. This is totally against all of science. There is plenty of proof for evolution. The is no proof of a god. And you keep missing the point. I say ONE book is not proof because there is no evidence coordinating it. It is just the bible. You need more.
@TheCh1212 Also you miss the point that you don't need proof to not believe in something. Not believing in something in the face of no evidence is a default stance (or should be). If someone says there is a great spaghetti monster in the sky that is all powerful, I don't automatically believe it. I don't believe it and I ask for evidence. If that evidence can not be produced and verified then continue not to believe it until there is sufficient evidence to convince me otherwise.
@wraith168 The Dead Sea scrolls were for the OT.The NT was scripture already accepted.Theydidnt accept the others because they already were rejected. Its not a claim that God created everything, its that without God,you couldnt of had anything. Evolution has no proof, especailly when it comes to that. Its a fairy tale for grown ups. The Bible has many proofs of God,its called prophecy. Also natural true proverbs of life and archaeological evidence, find that for the Spagetti Monster then ill believe
@TheCh1212 That is my point. The bible OT and NT have a lot writings that were reject and not put in. Like I said, "edited, cherry picked, censored, etc." and heavily so.
"without God,you couldnt of had anything" So then God created everything.
Evolution has a great deal of proof that is unless you pretty much reject the science of biology. I am guessing you aren't one to believe much in science though.
The bible is the only proof for your god and doesn't stand up to scrutiny.
You know when evolution makes no sense?! When you think the world is 6k to 10k years old... if you think in that time scales, then yeah, we live on a young, flat earth.
But you are a hypocrite by talking about archeology, where everybody is happy to find a 1000 years old sword, that looks like shit because of simple erosion and we are talking about metal.
Palaeontology has to work with timeframes of millions to billions of years, and you are crying about fragile bones...
@DrVladUs No it doesnt make sense when you believe everything came from nothing. And i cant even comment on your other stuff because its just not worth it.. Please hear the words that ive put so far, atleast think about them..
"No it doesnt make sense when you believe everything came from nothing."
- aha, that means, that if there is a God who created the universe, he is only able to create the variety of lifeforms through magic?! Because that is what your sentence tells...
As you see your comments are wothless and I still comment on them, so be fair please give contra to all of them... by the way, you would be the first christian guy, who would stay...
@DrVladUs Because honestly.. Magic? Common man,Witchcraft if practiced in ancient Israel would be punished by Death bro. Think about it,Latin word UNI-VERSE.. UNI (single) VERSE (spoken sentence) then read the first Chapter of Genesis and see if that counts as "magic" and doesnt make sense..
- what then? Ther is a video by darkmatter2525 called "The Most Wrong Anyone Ever Was", it's short, so you could watch it if you want, there you'll see how stupid it is to think it was possible to create the universe in one day, after working 3 days on earth WITHOUT magical. What Jesus did was in the end science? All the miracles are what, misinterpretation of natural phenomena? If you think so, you are an atheist or at least a deist.
"Common man,Witchcraft if practiced in ancient Israel would be punished by Death bro."
- I don't care what would happen with ancient warlocks. I am talking about God.
"Think about it,Latin word UNI-VERSE.. UNI (single) VERSE (spoken sentence)"
-yeah, maybe you should study the etymology of the word "universe" first, before telling such nonsence... unus = one; versum, vorsum (vertere) = rotated, changed...
@DrVladUs (1) If something is impossible for God with the exception of His own Nature, how is it impossible for God to do something again? (2) God reflected His Nature upon His Laws,so the death penalty for Magic shows that God hated materialistic devilish arts.. Since God doesnt have to use material to perform miracles then to say God uses "magic" is illogical (3) So a verse isnt spoken? lol (4) If science tells us that nothing created everything then Jesus just revived it
"And i cant even comment on your other stuff because its just not worth it." + "Please hear the words that ive put so far, atleast think about them." = Double Standards, right?!
@wraith168 (PART 2) Where is proof that something has ever came from nothing? Where is the trillions and trillions of transitional fossils that should be around from us becoming more distinct looking from the average ape? Where is the proof that the Bible is NOT proof? PLEASE answer the question. WHY DONT YOU BELIEVE IN GOD? DONT use anything you have READ or HEARD. And STATE your proof.
@TheCh1212 "Where is the proof that the Bible is NOT proof?"
Wrong question. What you should really ask is, What proof is provided that makes the bible fact. Burden of proof is on the people asserting the claim.
@guyfromdubai Prophecy,Archaeology,Historical Record of Israel itself. You wouldnt doubt any other historical document for any other country, why Israel? Though you were right though, yet, you skipped the first 2 questions.
@wraith168 The word used was "tested". God is Just and Holy, and we are not,we are sinful,God sees mere lying as an abomination. If you want God to love without justice, then you have a flawed god, which the God of the Bible is not, thus He could wipe us out now and it would be perfectly just, yet He hasnt, mercy much? I think so. Also read on culture and history for you criticize the Bible for "supporting" slavery. And God sent Jesus to save whole world from their lawlessness.
@TheCh1212 Your god can just wipe us out any time he wants huh? The good the bad, it doesn't matter, its up to him? That sounds like a just, loving and moral being. What justice was it when he helped the Israelites wipe out cities in the land he was giving them. All the people in all those cities were bad? Why because they didn't follow that god? That is moral to you? Yes the god of the bible supported slavery. He gave rules on owning, paying for and what the jews could do to their slaves.
@wraith168 "The good and the bad,it doesnt matter," With that sentence it doesnt but that is not what I or the Bible says, The Bible says that NONE are good,no not ONE,(Romans 3:12) and Jesus said there is only one that is good (or sinless) and that is God (Mark 10) And no not just cause they didnt "follow" God they sinned unreletly against Him,God sees "mere" lying as an ABOMINATION,we all derserve death. And no God didnt support slavery in the sterotypical means you think with a whip and chain
@TheCh1212 Yes god did support slavery in the sense that one person could buy and sell another human being and make them do their bidding. That is slavery. You god made rules on the buy and selling of humans.
"there is only one that is good (or sinless) and that is God"
As I have already stated, I don't go with this. Your god picked one set of people to be his chosen ones leaving the majority of the population on earth to swing in the wind.
@wraith168 (1)He made laws to support the time and culture of primitive people so He wouldnt have to wipe them out, that doesnt mean He supported slavery... (2) You dont have to go with it,but Gods Word has proven itself to be reliable and trustworthy, there is only 1 God,God picked everyone to be His people, yet they turned away because they love to sin. God is near to every man, they just dont seek Him.
@TheCh1212 (1) are you kidding me? If god said it was wrong and not to do it, then they would have listened. Hell if he commanded them to put their kid to the knife, it would have been followed. The fact that he told them how to keeps slaves and buy them, etc shows that if this god gave us the bible he supported slavery. I love how those of faith make allowances for their god's immoral ways. They always find a way to pin in on man.
@TheCh1212 (2) No god picked one set of people, the israelites. And even there, he didn't treat them so great a lot of the time. Oh I know they were "sinful" so this god had to punish them time and again with being conquered and in slaved, or killed etc. It always comes down to oh we are immoral and needed to be taught a lesson.
His word has been proven "reliable and trustworthy" how, where, and when?
@TheCh1212 "And God sent Jesus to save whole world from their lawlessness." No. Under no interpretation could that possibly be seen as true. There' is no conceivable way in which every person on the planet, could understand and accept Jesus before dying. People die, even of old age, every single day without ever having heard that name.
@skevoid Interpretation is invalid since thats is exacltly what the Bible says.. (Romans 2:12). People know there is a God,Creation testifies to it,people just dont want to believe it because that will mean that they are Morally Responsible for their actions. People go to Hell not because of not believing in Jesus, but because they have broken Gods Law and have sinned against the Creator of the Universe.
@TheCh1212 The verse you quoted is irrellevant, try again. Also "exactly what the bible says": the bible does not say ANY single thing 'exactly', for that to be true there would have to be only one version of the bible instead of dozens. How is it that you are under the delusion that everyone on the planet has heard of Yahweh and understands the message of the bible, including babies too young to understand even one word, including people in countries with close to zero Christians?
@TheCh1212 "People know there is a God" (implying everyone). So you're implying that there are no atheists, no agnostics, and given the capital 'g', that people of all religions believe that Yahweh exists but choose to worship something else, that's utterly and demonstrably false. I am morally responsible for my actions, much more so than if there was a magic man tempting me to evil and another one there to forgive me regardless of what atrocities I'd committed.
- you wrote that universe is a latin word: UNI (single) VERSE (spoken sentence)
I told you that your translation is 50% wrong and has nothing to do with the english word "verse". It comes from a noun made from the perfect passive participle of vertere: versum, vorsum... that is why the "lol" is really kinda embarrasing...
This guy is awesome. If everyone actually took the time to examine their own arguments with intellectual honesty we'd live in a happier and better informed world.
@LeoRikimaru You mean a tolitarian world. Christianity gave us our morals, not atheist. Communism tried to erradicate religion, it failed, why because people were better informed.
Not it is not, it was a secular civilization that formed the first instances of a real law and order as well as a complex justice system.
Please look it up on wikipedia you grossly misinformed individual.
Africa adopted "Christian Morales" from us that they mixed with their own culture I think you'll find. Asia has many religions including Christianity.
Christianity ultimately has no morals except for "Don't piss off the big invisible guy."
@LeoRikimaru No, Catholics were already in Africa in the 1st ce. before that the Jews. I'm from the US so I don't know about UK history there too much.
Babylonian was a polytheistic society and their culture and way of f life center on that.
Christianity is based on this New Covenant: Love God and Love One another... that's it.
@Naturalhit I see, so Africas suffering and lawlessness can be directly traced back to Judeo-christian religions? Thank you for confirming that.
Yes, it had many faiths. That doesn't go against what I was saying. My point is they formed their morals and laws outside your religions influence. They're not dissimilar from the ones we have today.
So in answer "Where do we get our morals?": Babylonian society, same place your religion ripped off almost all of its better laws and morals.
@LeoRikimaru LOL... Africa is aHUGE continent. Do you think that Judiasm and Christianity would touch all part of it? If you do your research you'll see that only the northern part of Africa was touched.
So you got your morals from Babylonian. Pssst. They have a religion too.
Christianity is totally different from them. So now my question is, if you got your morals from them then how come you're not a pagan???
@LeoRikimaru Hahaha nice. You totally avoided my question. BTW.. greedy men who hijacked religion did that mostly.
Chinese also has a law that say don't murder, steal, or commit adultery.. are they part of it too. And yes, they do have a religion too.
I assume you're Brit. It is Christian center whether you admit to it or not. A strawman argument that you got your morals from Babylonians when you're not even a pagan. Brit society centered itself around Christianity and its ethics.
@Naturalhit continue... and Brits back then weren't even familiar with Babylonian, a culture that got destroyed 500 years before Christ. Christianity is monothestic and not poly.
@LeoRikimaru "Did I not say Christianity ripped off its finer Morales from Babylonian culture? "
I already did and if you think selling your kids is part of christianity think again. Also, we don't do baby sacrifice according to their their religion.
So now which part of the codes to you follow?
It doesn't matter about Babylonian when it's clear you can't prove your atheisism from them. You still live in a Christian country.
@Naturalhit So without your god and your "moral code" in the bible, you would be unable to come up with any basic moral system? You would rape, kill, steal, etc because you had nothing and no one to tell you how to act is that it? So before the christians or jews there was no kind of moral standard in the world? Taking the OT and NT, you really think this magical being of yours is a moral creature? Any decent moral ideas in the bible were co-opted from society, not the other way around
@Naturalhit No longer. Although it used to be predominantly christians only it has become a multi-cultural, multi-faith society. Muslims, Buddhists, Jews, etc, all have made their homes here and form a large part of the community.
Does this answer your question?
No doubt this reply will be galling, you were expecting a yes.
Even if it were a yes; an ideas popularity has no baring on how true it is as proven when the earth turned out to be spherical instead of flat...
@Naturalhit Face you on what? You're posting so many fucking comments I can scarcely keep track of them. I litterally have to refresh every five seconds to keep track.
How about you just post a comment then wait for me to reply?
Otherwise this is just pointless and your more or less just typing and typing.
@LeoRikimaru Atheism declares it does not believe in faith, that science is the way to truth because it does not rely on faith unlike religion. Science does not rely on faith and therefore cannot be biased.
@LeoRikimaru Science relies on objectivity, and needs to utilize a method called the "scientific method". The scientific method relies on observation, experimentation, data-gathering, etc. It varies all the time.
@Naturalhit The means to pursue this method vary, the scientific method itself that relies on observation, experimentation and data-gathering does not.
@LeoRikimaru Why follow his teachings then? Buddhism whether you see it as Philosophical is still a relgion, because that's what it is. Also, why do Atheist (I felt this too back then) have this void they feel inside that they need to fill all the time?
@Naturalhit I have told you that Buddhism has been divided, if you don't believe me I encourage you to google and research it.
You are speaking from your own experience, not every atheists.
This "void" could be many things, I think you're talking about a lack of meaning which for you is now satisfied by the idea of God. Thing is, once you accept you don't know you fill that by searching, by exploring, by experiencing, by opening yourself.
@LeoRikimaru I know Buddhism trust me. I took 2 semesters of world relgion, both eastern and western relgion. But let's drop it. I want to stick more to the void that many atheist feel.
I've tried mediating the way a Buddhist would and that eventually left me empty too and I'm not alone. Would you that were created, whether by God or random accident and there is somethng we are always seekng out too?
@Naturalhit No problem, I actually enjoyed the debate. Could you do me a favor and look into the origins of Christianity though, I wasn't kidding about the pagan thing. It really is true.
Maybe we can continue this some other time, take care.
@LeoRikimaru A paraphrase a wise man once said, "Give me any child. I will make him or her a scientist, doctor, teacher, poet, philosopher, or a murderer." We learn our morals from what was passed on to us. In my case, both of my parents were Christians, mostly my mom, and I learned my morals from them, even when I was an Atheist, I carried that with me.
@Naturalhit Do I know how this began? How its going to end? No, I can't know that. Neither can you. I doubt either of us ever will.
But the fact is there is a freedom in not knowing, it means that theres still a point. That no matter how far you explore, where you turn, where you go.
Thats how I define my life. There will always be something new. The pursuit of knowledge is an endless one, you can never know everything. Nothing is certain.
I wouldn't have it any other way, would you? Really?
@LeoRikimaru I'm sure you were raised by good parents, I can tell by how you carry yourself here and how you didn't lose control. But it's from them you learned you morals, and I'm sure they got their from their parents and their parents and parents and so on. All this leads to the same root, Christianity's teachings on them. It may have degraded over the generations, but it still got passed on to you.
@Naturalhit I was raised catholic, I was 13 when I read the Bible cover to cover in R.E, I was shocked by its barbarism.
After that I started to research my religion and others heavily for justification...
I found it:
It hurts losing loved ones, its terrifying having to seek your own meaning, its hard to search for knowledge.
We let them lie to us because it makes us feel safer than accepting we don't know, the only price they ask for is a claim on our lives, our morals and our very minds.
@LeoRikimaru In the US 90% is still Christian. Obama tried very hard telling us that is not. So do majority rule, yes. Does that answer your question?
@Naturalhit Yes, Obama tried very hard to tell you that the 10% have human rights too and count towards the countries population. Thank God no-one paid attention.
Oh, just so you know, a fair part of that 90% will be closet atheists to scared to come out for fear of persecution by your little witch hunting community.
Did I ask a question? It looked to me like you were just babbling to yourself while my attention was diverted; providing a thoughtful response to another comment.
@LeoRikimaru Again, very poor argument on your part and you can't even admit that you live in a Christian country and your enjoying the moral privileges you got from that.
@Naturalhit My moral privileges come from the fact I have no desire to kill people, or rob, or steal. They come from the fact I want to be respect within my society and known as a good, honest person. That I value my fellow human being for the fact that I am a better person with their presence rather than without.
This is not "christian values", this is simply the pursuit of happiness in practice.
@LeoRikimaru "My moral privileges come from the fact I have no desire to kill people, or rob, or steal. They come from the fact I want to be respect within my society and known as a good, honest person."
Good for you. Now were you raise by parents who believed in a God and practiced the same morals?
@LeoRikimaru I've been debating you on it and I've asked you which of the 6 structure and 63 codes do you want to go by. I never denied that Judiasm and Christianity have roots in that.
I'm asking you why you are an atheist when you know that they weren't atheist and that they were religious. You simply can't anwer that.
@LeoRikimaru "the reason I am an atheist is because there is no evidence to support the existence of a God. Simple"
The reason why I quit atheist because there was no support to show that there wasn't. Dawkins and other based their theory on carbons, atoms, and such colliding and it took millions of years to create us. Althogh I agree that it took millions of years I don't agree that we happened by accident or thru random act.
@Naturalhit My question to you is: If I took all the words out of a dictionary and threw them outside and let the elements deal with it do you think that in millions of years the words would align themselves in perfect order again?
In a sense this was the very reason why I'm not atheist, because they way we the universe are design are too perfect. There has to be an intelligent designer. What's your take?
@LeoRikimaru That's me sayng we shouldn't call ourselves Americans about we have a large Mexican population. Again, you presented a strawman argument.
What??? Are atheist persecuted now??? You're giving me lipservice.
@Naturalhit No, not really. Firstly your country is called America and secondly Mexicans have to gain citizenship that will class them as Americans to live their legally. So no, its nothing like that. What a flawed analogy.
Are we persecuted? Fucking yes? Try travelling to the deep south or deep north and announcing your an atheist, see how you get treated. We have to endure all sorts, not to mention the billboards telling us we're basically going to hell.
@LeoRikimaru "No, not really. Firstly your country is called America and secondly Mexicans have to gain citizenship that will class them as Americans to live their legally."
AHHHH, we have 16 million illegals here and half of this country used to belong to Mexico. Go to LA and it's mostly hispanic culture. So now my statement stands true that we are the majority and we rule. You live in a Christian country whether you lke it or not.
boywhoy88's entire "Sermon" revolves around the assumption that EVERYBODY must believe already... and that you just need to open your mind to that fact... well "boy", it takes more than abject faith to prove the existence of your or any other god, whichever one of the literally thousands that are believed to exist.

How an atheist helps society. - Take toys and packs of nappies to Childrens charity.
How Christian helps society - sit on butt and say a prayer.
Religion gives people the idea that doing absolutely nothing useful has value and handicaps society.

The saddest part of your argument is that you really believe that because YOU think that you know it's automatically true.
With your logic you already lost to Islam because of the Al Qaida kamikaze pilots... I'm sure that they KNEW for themselves TOO that Allah will reward them...

"tell people about Jesus"
People already know about Jesus. They have eyes, they have brains, they can read a book. What you need to do is tell them why the stories they've heard or read about Jesus are true, and why that matters to them. You'll get nowhere just making baseless assertions.

Tacitus said - the more laws a society has, the more corrupt it becomes. People want a vote to impose their lifestyle on others, and politicians stop insider-trading long enough to write bills and enact laws that make some minority or other criminals if we don't live like religious paranoids.

1)
"...which part of your body gets hurt?"
- it's called brain, but it doesn't get hurt through emotions, it creates them by processing my expiriences.
Instead of living with childish worldviews, you should read a book about neurophysiology or at least simple psychology.
Then you will understand that the brain can be manipulated to feel any emotion you want.

You need some corroborating evidence and for such an extraordinary claim as a god or jesus, you need some extraordinary proof.
wraith168 2 weeks ago
@wraith168 lol "Lets see, well there is no evidence of any god" That is why you dont believe in God? That doesnt make much sense friend. Btw Bible means "books" this isnt just one book made at one time this is 66 books made over a period of 2,000 years of history. And you dont need such evidence for God,you just need a brain that thinks. Nothing cannot create Everything.
TheCh1212 2 weeks ago
@TheCh1212 Well, then that would be "evidence". But why does it have to be 1 god who created the universe? Why not 2 or 10 gods? wraith168 2 weeks ago
(PART 1)
TheCh1212 2 weeks ago
@TheCh1212 Yes it is and your Dead Sea scrolls are evidence of that since many books and additional psalms are apart of the scrolls but never made it into the canonized version of the Hebrew Bible. Like I said, edited, cherry picked, censored, etc. They picked and chose what went into the OT to fit what they felt should be believed. This is the same with the NT.
wraith168 2 weeks ago
@TheCh1212 As for your whole something from nothing argument, that is a theist claim. Theist's claim that god made everything from nothing. That everything was put on this earth fully formed and as we see it today. This is totally against all of science. There is plenty of proof for evolution. The is no proof of a god. And you keep missing the point. I say ONE book is not proof because there is no evidence coordinating it. It is just the bible. You need more.
wraith168 2 weeks ago
@TheCh1212 Also you miss the point that you don't need proof to not believe in something. Not believing in something in the face of no evidence is a default stance (or should be). If someone says there is a great spaghetti monster in the sky that is all powerful, I don't automatically believe it. I don't believe it and I ask for evidence. If that evidence can not be produced and verified then continue not to believe it until there is sufficient evidence to convince me otherwise.
wraith168 2 weeks ago
@wraith168 The Dead Sea scrolls were for the OT.The NT was scripture already accepted.Theydidnt accept the others because they already were rejected. Its not a claim that God created everything, its that without God,you couldnt of had anything. Evolution has no proof, especailly when it comes to that. Its a fairy tale for grown ups. The Bible has many proofs of God,its called prophecy. Also natural true proverbs of life and archaeological evidence, find that for the Spagetti Monster then ill believe

Evolution has a great deal of proof that is unless you pretty much reject the science of biology. I am guessing you aren't one to believe much in science though.

TheCh1212 2 weeks ago
@TheCh1212 Your god can just wipe us out any time he wants huh? The good the bad, it doesn't matter, its up to him? That sounds like a just, loving and moral being. What justice was it when he helped the Israelites wipe out cities in the land he was giving them. All the people in all those cities were bad? Why because they didn't follow that god? That is moral to you? Yes the god of the bible supported slavery. He gave rules on owning, paying for and what the jews could do to their slaves.
wraith168 2 weeks ago
@wraith168 "The good and the bad,it doesnt matter," With that sentence it doesnt but that is not what I or the Bible says, The Bible says that NONE are good,no not ONE,(Romans 3:12) and Jesus said there is only one that is good (or sinless) and that is God (Mark 10) And no not just cause they didnt "follow" God they sinned unreletly against Him,God sees "mere" lying as an ABOMINATION,we all derserve death. And no God didnt support slavery in the sterotypical means you think with a whip and chain
TheCh1212 2 weeks ago
@TheCh1212 Yes god did support slavery in the sense that one person could buy and sell another human being and make them do their bidding. That is slavery. You god made rules on the buy and selling of humans.
"there is only one that is good (or sinless) and that is God"
As I have already stated, I don't go with this. Your god picked one set of people to be his chosen ones leaving the majority of the population on earth to swing in the wind.
wraith168 2 weeks ago
@wraith168 (1)He made laws to support the time and culture of primitive people so He wouldnt have to wipe them out, that doesnt mean He supported slavery... (2) You dont have to go with it,but Gods Word has proven itself to be reliable and trustworthy, there is only 1 God,God picked everyone to be His people, yet they turned away because they love to sin. God is near to every man, they just dont seek Him.
TheCh1212 1 week ago
@TheCh1212 (1) are you kidding me? If god said it was wrong and not to do it, then they would have listened. Hell if he commanded them to put their kid to the knife, it would have been followed. The fact that he told them how to keeps slaves and buy them, etc shows that if this god gave us the bible he supported slavery. I love how those of faith make allowances for their god's immoral ways. They always find a way to pin in on man.
wraith168 1 week ago
@TheCh1212 (2) No god picked one set of people, the israelites. And even there, he didn't treat them so great a lot of the time. Oh I know they were "sinful" so this god had to punish them time and again with being conquered and in slaved, or killed etc. It always comes down to oh we are immoral and needed to be taught a lesson.
His word has been proven "reliable and trustworthy" how, where, and when?

ATHEIST: Why God allowed slavery?
TheCh1212: He made laws to support the time and culture of primitive people... that doesnt mean He supported slavery.
ATHEIST: Yeah, but what's about your "Objective Morality"-Argument?!
What's about:
"coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or the slightest hint of change."
"Since I, the LORD, do not go back on my promises, you, sons of Jacob, have not perished."
"same yesterday and today and forever."
DrVladUs 1 week ago
@TheCh1212 "And God sent Jesus to save whole world from their lawlessness." No. Under no interpretation could that possibly be seen as true. There' is no conceivable way in which every person on the planet, could understand and accept Jesus before dying. People die, even of old age, every single day without ever having heard that name.
skevoid 2 weeks ago
@skevoid Interpretation is invalid since thats is exacltly what the Bible says.. (Romans 2:12). People know there is a God,Creation testifies to it,people just dont want to believe it because that will mean that they are Morally Responsible for their actions. People go to Hell not because of not believing in Jesus, but because they have broken Gods Law and have sinned against the Creator of the Universe.
TheCh1212 1 week ago
@TheCh1212 The verse you quoted is irrellevant, try again. Also "exactly what the bible says": the bible does not say ANY single thing 'exactly', for that to be true there would have to be only one version of the bible instead of dozens. How is it that you are under the delusion that everyone on the planet has heard of Yahweh and understands the message of the bible, including babies too young to understand even one word, including people in countries with close to zero Christians?
skevoid 1 week ago
@TheCh1212 "People know there is a God" (implying everyone). So you're implying that there are no atheists, no agnostics, and given the capital 'g', that people of all religions believe that Yahweh exists but choose to worship something else, that's utterly and demonstrably false. I am morally responsible for my actions, much more so than if there was a magic man tempting me to evil and another one there to forgive me regardless of what atrocities I'd committed.

you wrote in the response:
"(3) So a verse isnt spoken? lol"

LeoRikimaru 1 month ago
@LeoRikimaru You mean a tolitarian world. Christianity gave us our morals, not atheist. Communism tried to erradicate religion, it failed, why because people were better informed.
Naturalhit 1 month ago
@Naturalhit Look up Babylonian law on wikipedia, you're wrong. That simple.
Do you *really* want to discuss who is better informed?
In this sort of debate its the kind of move you'd expect from a lemming.
LeoRikimaru 1 month ago
@LeoRikimaru Sure, I'm game. Go for it.
Babylonian is a religious sect. Abraham came from such culture. It's not a surprise that pagan culture was adopted.
Point is, without religion you'd have atheist proclaiming anarchy and tolitarian. Such thing exist in remote places in Africa and Asia.
Christianity gave us the absolute morals.
Naturalhit 1 month ago
@Naturalhit
LeoRikimaru 1 month ago
@LeoRikimaru No, Catholics were already in Africa in the 1st ce. before that the Jews. I'm from the US so I don't know about UK history there too much.
Babylonian was a polytheistic society and their culture and way of f life center on that.
Christianity is based on this New Covenant: Love God and Love One another... that's it.
Where do you think atheist got their morals?
Naturalhit 1 month ago
@Naturalhit I see, so Africas suffering and lawlessness can be directly traced back to Judeo-christian religions? Thank you for confirming that.
Yes, it had many faiths. That doesn't go against what I was saying. My point is they formed their morals and laws outside your religions influence. They're not dissimilar from the ones we have today.
So in answer "Where do we get our morals?": Babylonian society, same place your religion ripped off almost all of its better laws and morals.
LeoRikimaru 1 month ago
@LeoRikimaru LOL... Africa is aHUGE continent. Do you think that Judiasm and Christianity would touch all part of it? If you do your research you'll see that only the northern part of Africa was touched.
So you got your morals from Babylonian. Pssst. They have a religion too.
Christianity is totally different from them. So now my question is, if you got your morals from them then how come you're not a pagan???
Naturalhit 1 month ago
@Naturalhit Oh right, just 50% of the country then? Yeah, you're right. Thats nothing.
No, we did. Our nations did, or formed similar laws by themselves. This is what has allowed the worlds nations to survive.
Saying "They have a religion too" is meaningless. All civilizations have their religious minorities.
Yes, it is. Christianity took some of the basic laws like "Don't murder" and sprinkled one hundred tons of crazy on it.
Because paganism is Greco-Roman... genius.
LeoRikimaru 1 month ago
@LeoRikimaru Hahaha nice. You totally avoided my question. BTW.. greedy men who hijacked religion did that mostly.
Chinese also has a law that say don't murder, steal, or commit adultery.. are they part of it too. And yes, they do have a religion too.
I assume you're Brit. It is Christian center whether you admit to it or not. A strawman argument that you got your morals from Babylonians when you're not even a pagan. Brit society centered itself around Christianity and its ethics.
Naturalhit 1 month ago
@Naturalhit continue... and Brits back then weren't even familiar with Babylonian, a culture that got destroyed 500 years before Christ. Christianity is monothestic and not poly.
Naturalhit 1 month ago
@Naturalhit Oh, I missed a spot.
Did I not say Christianity ripped off its finer Morales from Babylonian culture? Look it up if you don't believe me.
Also, see the previous response to the chinese question.
Its Monothestic, ok. So what? Doesn't change the fact that its origins are pagan.
Oh yes it is, look it up.
Google Paganism, see wikipedia.
LeoRikimaru 1 month ago
@LeoRikimaru "Did I not say Christianity ripped off its finer Morales from Babylonian culture? "
I already did and if you think selling your kids is part of christianity think again. Also, we don't do baby sacrifice according to their their religion.
So now which part of the codes to you follow?
It doesn't matter about Babylonian when it's clear you can't prove your atheisism from them. You still live in a Christian country.
Naturalhit 1 month ago
@Naturalhit So without your god and your "moral code" in the bible, you would be unable to come up with any basic moral system? You would rape, kill, steal, etc because you had nothing and no one to tell you how to act is that it? So before the christians or jews there was no kind of moral standard in the world? Taking the OT and NT, you really think this magical being of yours is a moral creature? Any decent moral ideas in the bible were co-opted from society, not the other way around
wraith168 2 weeks ago
@LeoRikimaru Answer me this, you do live in a Christian country do you not?
Naturalhit 1 month ago
@Naturalhit No longer. Although it used to be predominantly christians only it has become a multi-cultural, multi-faith society. Muslims, Buddhists, Jews, etc, all have made their homes here and form a large part of the community.
Does this answer your question?
No doubt this reply will be galling, you were expecting a yes.
Even if it were a yes; an ideas popularity has no baring on how true it is as proven when the earth turned out to be spherical instead of flat...

Naturalhit 1 month ago
@Naturalhit Oh and no. Seeking "inner peace" isn't a religion, its the pursuit of happiness. There was a film on it, starred Will Smith. Good actor.
To answer your question about Buddhism, Buddhism has been separated into two types. Philosophical Buddhism and the religious Buddhism
Philosophical Buddhism is just that, a philosophy. Its been separated from the superstitious crap and left with the thoughtful insights and advice.
Does this satisfy your curiosity?

@LeoRikimaru Atheism declares it does not believe in faith, that science is the way to truth because it does not rely on faith unlike religion. Science does not rely on faith and therefore cannot be biased.
Do you agree?
Naturalhit 1 month ago
@Naturalhit Atheism is simply a lack of belief.
Science is that pursuit of fact through evidence, it requires no belief.
LeoRikimaru 1 month ago
@LeoRikimaru Science relies on objectivity, and needs to utilize a method called the "scientific method". The scientific method relies on observation, experimentation, data-gathering, etc. It varies all the time.
Naturalhit 1 month ago
@Naturalhit The means to pursue this method vary, the scientific method itself that relies on observation, experimentation and data-gathering does not.
So yes I would agree with that.

@LeoRikimaru Buddhism is also a religion. Nice try. Atheist just feel empty inside. They won't admit they have a soul.
Naturalhit 1 month ago
@Naturalhit I didn't say Buddhism wasn't, I was simply saying theres two types of Buddhism now. The philosophical and the religious.
Why do you keep putting words in my mouth? Is this how you debate with everyone? Its not very dignified.
LeoRikimaru 1 month ago
@LeoRikimaru Why follow his teachings then? Buddhism whether you see it as Philosophical is still a relgion, because that's what it is. Also, why do Atheist (I felt this too back then) have this void they feel inside that they need to fill all the time?
Naturalhit 1 month ago
@Naturalhit I have told you that Buddhism has been divided, if you don't believe me I encourage you to google and research it.
You are speaking from your own experience, not every atheists.
This "void" could be many things, I think you're talking about a lack of meaning which for you is now satisfied by the idea of God. Thing is, once you accept you don't know you fill that by searching, by exploring, by experiencing, by opening yourself.
It is then filled by the essence of pure freedom.
LeoRikimaru 1 month ago
@LeoRikimaru I know Buddhism trust me. I took 2 semesters of world relgion, both eastern and western relgion. But let's drop it. I want to stick more to the void that many atheist feel.
I've tried mediating the way a Buddhist would and that eventually left me empty too and I'm not alone. Would you that were created, whether by God or random accident and there is somethng we are always seekng out too?

@LeoRikimaru You know it's 2:30am now and I got to hit the hay. I'll go ahead and call it quits now.
I don't think we'll change each others' mind here, but thank you for a good debate and thank you for not letting it turn into a personal thing.
I'm sure you'll agee that we can both disagree. I wish you the best, PEACE.

@Naturalhit No problem, I actually enjoyed the debate. Could you do me a favor and look into the origins of Christianity though, I wasn't kidding about the pagan thing. It really is true.
Maybe we can continue this some other time, take care.
LeoRikimaru 1 month ago
@LeoRikimaru A paraphrase a wise man once said, "Give me any child. I will make him or her a scientist, doctor, teacher, poet, philosopher, or a murderer." We learn our morals from what was passed on to us. In my case, both of my parents were Christians, mostly my mom, and I learned my morals from them, even when I was an Atheist, I carried that with me.
Sure, PM your source on paganism.
Sorry for babbling, you take care my friend.
Naturalhit 1 month ago
@Naturalhit Do I know how this began? How its going to end? No, I can't know that. Neither can you. I doubt either of us ever will.
But the fact is there is a freedom in not knowing, it means that theres still a point. That no matter how far you explore, where you turn, where you go.
Thats how I define my life. There will always be something new. The pursuit of knowledge is an endless one, you can never know everything. Nothing is certain.
I wouldn't have it any other way, would you? Really?
LeoRikimaru 1 month ago
