But how could someone say that it's easy to cut and paste Misha's style or that it's not technical? It's wicked unorthodox. Kurt Cobain is a style you can cut and paste that isn't very technical not a guitarist that plays extended chords at odd time signatures.

These videos don't help if you've never heard of him before. Maybe you should try listening to his music and his band Periphery's music. It will not disappoint. He is revolutionary (and I mean that in a literal sense). I should probably start you off with his 'simpler' songs. Search 'Breeze' or 'Legatta' or 'Epic Fail' by Bulb. You may even search 'Insomnia', 'Icarus Lives' , 'Jetpacks was Yes' or 'Letter Experiment' by Periphery. Everything (from guitar to drums) he made.

Icarus Lives got me in as well. Heard it once and didn't like it so much. But a few months later I just remembered the name in the back of my mind, searched it up and ended up listening to all of their music. Best decision I ever made (apart from discovering Dream Theater) lol
@extremities9 I'm a wee bit pedantic in regards to my tastes in metal, I'm very, uh, traditional, so when things start to get (for lack of a better word) progressive, I kinda lose interest.
That's probably not the best way to get my point across (some of my favorite artists can include Opeth, Porcupine Tree, Dream Theater, Winterhorde) I mean with things like, Djent, or (the main offender of them all) Deathcore.
Stuff these "trendy" kids have been coining, really gets up my grill.

@FakeSidewalks He's playing solos from his bands songs. They dont sound the way they should without the rest of the song. I think the first one was from Racecar, cant place the other ones.
What they should of done for these demos was put up a quality room mic so we can get a better idea of what the players are actually hearing and what the amp actually sounds like when you're sitting in the room with it. Not what it sounds like getting tracked into a DAW. I mean sure, that has some merit, but no metal band records an album by throwing down a couple guitar tracks raw and leaving them as it is. No band in fact, not just metal. So much EQ'ing, limiting, compression going on as well.
You have to remember. What we are hearing in these demos is in no way what those amps are really sounding like in the room. What we hear is the mic'd cab(with sm57 looks like). I'm guessing they are not mixing in a room mic with this and it's that mic;d speaker 100%. Of course you're going to get muddiness, or fizziness. Speakers have so much to do with the tone you're going to hear recorded, as well as mic placement. The settings on the amp aren't as important when it comes to wat were hearing
well i didnt know who either of these guys were and i think they sound like ass in all of the vids. I have a Vht Pittbull UL and they didnt do the amp any justice.
I have to agree, I think these videos are basically ALL if Misha's fanboys just thumbs upping all of each others "I want to put Misha's BALLS IN MY MOUTH" comments. They like him because he isn't very technical, and it is easy to copy his style. They feel like they have accomplished something if they can "play like him" which is not very hard to do. It is a shame really, I'm sure some of these younger guys could have been great if they hadn't wasted so much time studying this guy.

@Takeskyggen they do NOT scoop their mids, the amp is just muddy as fuck, maybe due to the mic used idk...maybe the douche from Thousand Foot Crutch scoops his mids, but not Misha he says it in countless interviews that he keeps his mids relatively high..

WOW......The last one I hear from all the reviews, and the best sounding one. Versatile as well, no other amp offers the usb storing feature, neither some decent basic Fx. This might be the 2200 dollars better spent of all time.

This amp was so muddy. I recently had a Hughes and Kettner and had to sell it...it was just way too muddy. The cleans were awesome, but the gain was no good.
a very versatile amp.. tasty tone.. all the gain you need, on board "quality" FX's and the clean channel sounds fantastic, these two players sounded the most musical and best on this amp so far... plus this amp remembers presets on a flas card? How cool is that?

Cool comparison between all these amps. This amp sounds great! It's hard to pick a winner but this might be it. The Diezel and this sound best to my ear. The Randall had a unique and appealing metal tone and probably costs a fraction of these ones.
@GJRM18 Out of all the peavey head's that would be my choice, the el34's imo sound better than the 6l6 versions. I like Peavey and have a Peavey power amp but one thing I would comment on the 6534 head is that it looks kind of cheap on the front panel compared to some of the other's. They should really step it up on the appearance of the head.
@N1V3K0141 I Have this amp and I can assure you its muddyness is just how they are setting it up and playing it.. what they are kicking out does not do the amp justice at all. cus this thing is a beast. very aggressive, muddyness is not a problem unless you are trying to achieve that sound

@ThroughFallenEyes not sure how it compares up to the roadster, i did try a triple rec the same day, a dude i know works at long and mcquade so i came down to the store and he just had a shit load of top heads for me to just find "The One" sorta deal, and while some of the mesa's were louder, tone wise i think the coreblade overall was just MUCH better imo. the switchblade is nice to if money is an issue, its a bit more low end compared to coreblade, but core is much more aggressive
@rampageatdawn I have used cabs with lead80 speakers in them, and it has never had the sound which matches much related to the kind of music i play. I played 5 cabs before i decided on mine, and i wouldnt go with anything that didnt have v30's. I converted my other guitarist to v30s from gt1275's and he has never looked back. But its all up to you, look into the avatar cabs and see if they can do the speakers you want (they are awesome cabs and very affordable)

These videos don't help if you've never heard of him before. Maybe you should try listening to his music and his band Periphery's music. It will not disappoint. He is revolutionary (and I mean that in a literal sense). I should probably start you off with his 'simpler' songs. Search 'Breeze' or 'Legatta' or 'Epic Fail' by Bulb. You may even search 'Insomnia', 'Icarus Lives' , 'Jetpacks was Yes' or 'Letter Experiment' by Periphery. Everything (from guitar to drums) he made.

That's probably not the best way to get my point across (some of my favorite artists can include Opeth, Porcupine Tree, Dream Theater, Winterhorde) I mean with things like, Djent, or (the main offender of them all) Deathcore.

What they should of done for these demos was put up a quality room mic so we can get a better idea of what the players are actually hearing and what the amp actually sounds like when you're sitting in the room with it. Not what it sounds like getting tracked into a DAW. I mean sure, that has some merit, but no metal band records an album by throwing down a couple guitar tracks raw and leaving them as it is. No band in fact, not just metal. So much EQ'ing, limiting, compression going on as well.

You have to remember. What we are hearing in these demos is in no way what those amps are really sounding like in the room. What we hear is the mic'd cab(with sm57 looks like). I'm guessing they are not mixing in a room mic with this and it's that mic;d speaker 100%. Of course you're going to get muddiness, or fizziness. Speakers have so much to do with the tone you're going to hear recorded, as well as mic placement. The settings on the amp aren't as important when it comes to wat were hearing

I have to agree, I think these videos are basically ALL if Misha's fanboys just thumbs upping all of each others "I want to put Misha's BALLS IN MY MOUTH" comments. They like him because he isn't very technical, and it is easy to copy his style. They feel like they have accomplished something if they can "play like him" which is not very hard to do. It is a shame really, I'm sure some of these younger guys could have been great if they hadn't wasted so much time studying this guy.

This amp was so muddy. I recently had a Hughes and Kettner and had to sell it...it was just way too muddy. The cleans were awesome, but the gain was no good.

a very versatile amp.. tasty tone.. all the gain you need, on board "quality" FX's and the clean channel sounds fantastic, these two players sounded the most musical and best on this amp so far... plus this amp remembers presets on a flas card? How cool is that?

Cool comparison between all these amps. This amp sounds great! It's hard to pick a winner but this might be it. The Diezel and this sound best to my ear. The Randall had a unique and appealing metal tone and probably costs a fraction of these ones.

@GJRM18 Out of all the peavey head's that would be my choice, the el34's imo sound better than the 6l6 versions. I like Peavey and have a Peavey power amp but one thing I would comment on the 6534 head is that it looks kind of cheap on the front panel compared to some of the other's. They should really step it up on the appearance of the head.

@ThroughFallenEyes not sure how it compares up to the roadster, i did try a triple rec the same day, a dude i know works at long and mcquade so i came down to the store and he just had a shit load of top heads for me to just find "The One" sorta deal, and while some of the mesa's were louder, tone wise i think the coreblade overall was just MUCH better imo. the switchblade is nice to if money is an issue, its a bit more low end compared to coreblade, but core is much more aggressive

@rampageatdawn I have used cabs with lead80 speakers in them, and it has never had the sound which matches much related to the kind of music i play. I played 5 cabs before i decided on mine, and i wouldnt go with anything that didnt have v30's. I converted my other guitarist to v30s from gt1275's and he has never looked back. But its all up to you, look into the avatar cabs and see if they can do the speakers you want (they are awesome cabs and very affordable)
