Geradeaus schnell kannst mit fast jedem Auto fahren aber ich lach mich halt immer über die Porsche-Lenker am Kesselberg tot, die mit Ihren schwergewichtigen PS-Monstern nicht in und aus den Kurven kommen. PS sind ja gut und schön, aber erst weniger Gewicht machen ein Auto auch in der Kurve schnell - und diese Disziplin hat Porsche mit Ausnahme des GT3 schon lange verlernt. Caterham, Lotus und Co. können das viel besser, Motorradfahrer ärgern.

Wow...Deja vu! I did this with a Silver 911 Turbo Porsche on my GSXR1000 from Taylor B.C to Grande Prairie AB. It was probably the stupidest, craziest thing I've ever done. I won't do it again. For the record my bike could out pull the Turbo but not by much.

@BigPappyJ4x4 Power to weight ratio has very little to do with top speed. That is determined by the coefficient of drag (Cda) and the frontal area plus the amount of power produced. The acceleration is a product of the power to weight ratio until air resistance takes over. Bike are generally aerodynamically "dirty" when compared to cars. This car has about 4 times the frontal area but only 3 times the power. The reason it's over 10 kph faster is it's Cd of about 0.3 compared to the bike's 0.5
i dont know where you got your information from CommanderKairy but zx10r's are not capable of 200mph stock, sure the engine could probably manage it but you would have to change the sprockets to begin with and lose out on quite a bit of acceleration, The TRE has no effect on top speed on the zx10r either(hyabussa i believe it does tho) It mearly opens the secondary butterfly valves lower in the rev range giving you a bit more oomph from 0-4000 revs to kill yourself with.
Aww they should have put a TRE in the bike. (For anyone that doesn't know: Supersports are limited to 300kmh, 186mph. A TRE removes that and allows the bike to go as fast as it possibly can. ZX10's are capable of 200mph stock. Not sure of what that is in kph, sorry.)
@CommanderKairu Yeah, they are limited to 299, however, that's from the digital speedo which usually takes it's impulses from the countershaft. All bikes, as far as I'm aware, have a optomistic calibration, so they usually read from 3 - 5% high. Other factors such as tyre wear can effect the accuracy of the speedo. This bike, when indicating 299 probably was doing 290 at best and 284 at worst. I note that it was still accelerating strongly at 290 indicated so derestricted may reach 310 or so.
Not really correct. Some Kawasaki models use the rev limiter as a way of limiting top speed and not timing retardation. However the following models do use timing retardation and will respond to TRE as a form of derestriction. These are the models:
ZX-10R (2004-2005)I
ZX-10R (2006-2009)
ZX-14 / ZZR1400 (2006-2009),
Concours 14 / 1400GTR (2008-2009)
ZX-12R requires a TRE and a Speedo Healer
The TRE will also improve the mid range of these bikes and a host of other performance models.
@droceretik well, i have got the 05 model 10r and i can promise you that the TRE does nothing to top end speed, i hit top speed when i hit the top of the rev range and that was before and after i fitted it, the TRE on the 10r simply does what i said before. Try checking out zx10r.co.uk and read what they say about TRE's there a lot of very experienced people have fitted them and a few guides about them
@truescot2000 The information I have is for US models. I don't know what if any differences there are between bikes sold in different markets. Look at the context of my reply. I responded to CommanderKairu's comment that (all) super-sports motorcycles will respond to TRE derestriction. Clearly there are are some models that won't respond to TRE. Individual bikes may vary in performance and there may be up to 10 mph difference because of tune, maintenance,weather, fuel quality and rider size.
@droceretik oh, i should also point out the 06/07 models are completely different than 08/09 models. also why would the zx-12r possibly need a spedo healer unless it changed its sprockets or wheel size?
@truescot2000 Changing sprockets is a relatively easy modification and a bike will respond to higher gearing if it has increased power from mods such as a Power Commander, exhaust system . The factory is very good at choosing gear ratios and usually are spot on for extracting top speed potential at maximum power revs. A stock bike will rarely go much faster, if at all, with just raised gearing unless it is under-geared from the factory. Some Kawasaki models use rev limiter to keep under 300.

It depends on the bike and personal preference. For instance, i've done high speeds in a car and felt like it needed a lot of driver input to keep a steady line.
Bikes tend to keep their line constant and don't feel as fussy at high speeds. Although sometimes you can get 'speed weave' on some (mostly bigger bikes). But that's mostly down to aerodynamics.
ZX10 anyday, £80,000 car against a £8000 bike, I think the Kwak is great value for money and performance don't you agree? You can wheelie a bike and hang off around corners, in a car you just sit there. Leave shitie cars to Jeremy Clarkson show us more ZX10 power.

No. Car has more top end speed because bike has an electronic limiter stopping it going past 299. In some European countries the Porsche is limited to 250 kph. All Japanese bikes capable of 300 + kph are limited by voluntary agreement from 2001 to 299 kph. Some owners bypass the limiter and if so the Kawasaki would have a similar top speed to the Porsche.
Top end it sure is...you saw the bike at 299 and the car pulling away. Bike will destroy it off the line and up to 299, but after that, the car will gain.
if i could only have one, yes i'd have the bike. don't get me wrong, we'd all like a porche but you just don't get the same buzz when your driving a car fast as you do when your riding a bike fast. not alot compares. anyone who has had a superbike will agree.

It depends on the bike and personal preference. For instance, i've done high speeds in a car and felt like it needed a lot of driver input to keep a steady line.
Bikes tend to keep their line constant and don't feel as fussy at high speeds. Although sometimes you can get 'speed weave' on some (mostly bigger bikes). But that's mostly down to aerodynamics.

ZX10 anyday, £80,000 car against a £8000 bike, I think the Kwak is great value for money and performance don't you agree? You can wheelie a bike and hang off around corners, in a car you just sit there. Leave shitie cars to Jeremy Clarkson show us more ZX10 power.

No. Car has more top end speed because bike has an electronic limiter stopping it going past 299. In some European countries the Porsche is limited to 250 kph. All Japanese bikes capable of 300 + kph are limited by voluntary agreement from 2001 to 299 kph. Some owners bypass the limiter and if so the Kawasaki would have a similar top speed to the Porsche.

Top end it sure is...you saw the bike at 299 and the car pulling away. Bike will destroy it off the line and up to 299, but after that, the car will gain.
