Every source will tell you that China's governement is the world's largest and it will continue to grow during the next years. South Korea got to host the games in 1988 and one of the reasons were to encourage South Korea to have a more Democratic governement cuz Park Chung Hee setted up an authoritarian-style governement, same was with Japan, the governement back then was too conservative. Actually you are jumping to baseless conclusions. During floods, the CCP sent in a lot of soldiers many times to rescue those in need.
Canada already has quite a few problems here, if Canada and China were to switch populations, then China would have higher standards than Canada.
