Fuckin very underrated band, and this song gives me goosebumps with that riffing, some rich bastard offer them the world for one more tour around Aus!
I remember seeing TMOC at Meredith round '95. They made such a mark on me. It was around midnight when they came on, a really cold night. Steam was coming off both the Scott brothers heads, while Kim's bass pulverized my insides. F&*king awesome.
seen ministry,helmet,megadeth,L7,korn,manson,hell yeah, faith no more, janes addiction, static x,qotsa, sepultura, ratm, soulfly, slayer, melvins and an absolute truckload of other great acts. TMOC in an average size pub shat the absolute fuck all over any other act i've witnessed. true story
how is this helmet bashing im just saying the cain are better. its a compliment to the cain that stainer actually wanted to come play with them and even though paige tried to get john back when he decided to dig helmet up again john said no he was happier playing with the mark of cain and doing tomahawk.
Best gig I ever went to was The Mark of Cain playing at the Royal Hotel in Adelaide. The roof had big wooden beams, and people were hanging upside down from them by their legs, there were people sitting on the stage, there was so much fucking energy. And this song went off.
this clip is ruined by that faggot in the audience with long hair and rugby shirt. I wish Jon Scott ended the song by smashing a marshall amp on stupid head
these guys are the best band to ever come out in australia, henry rollins rates them the best band he has ever heard or seen in his life and thats a compliment no one can argue with. as for helmet why are idiots on here crapping on with the there better then the cain shit, there not! anywayits not a helmet video and if your here watching it you must of heard of them and like them otherwise you wouldnt be on here.
Used to practice with my band at the same same practice space as these fellas. Custom Music on Henley Beach road. Owned by Frank Lessie. He made some nice amps.
@longhorn2615 I was a huge TMOC fan (same hometown) and a huge Helmet fan. Different types of bands...see them both live and you will understand. Helmet rocks hard, Mark O'Cain assaults you. Helmet could be very clever, TMOC just plain brutal.
Just as a note, The Mark of Cain MUST be seen live.
that bass was lent to the guy who helped with their web site.... when i saw it, i asked if i could play it, after a "sure go for it", i started to play, just as i stop, i go "hey its just like the one from the mar.... " and the whole room finishes my sentence for me, it took 4 mins of "no dude really it is" to convince me......the i gently put it down and did the whole im not worthy bow.......awesome night for me
Helmet were doo doo compared to these guys. Also these guys happen to have been around alot longer. And what's with the JOHN STAINER on drums bullshit heading???? Who the hell cares if he's on drums?? Aaron kicked his ass!!!!
Your outta your mind with the Helmet bashing. Yeah they have been around longer, yet Helmet had released, what 3 LP's before tmoc realeased 1, but who gives an F. This kicks ass, and of course has a Helmet feel, but J. Stanier was 75% of the Helmet feel so its no suprise. So get over yourself.... For a band to be mentioned in the same breath as (old)Helmet is an absolute compliment whether your of the same genre or not. I do find any Def Tones comparisons offensive however haha.
I couldn't believe those folks were just rocking back and forth. Sorry I would have lost my shite and tore the place up. TMOC has that effect on me. I lost a coffee table the first time I listened to Ill at Ease. I put it through a wall.

Another cool snare sound from Stanier. A good band too.

This is the first time i've heard these chaps.
They're hard as fuck. Great sound.
BUT I have to agree they do sound like Helmet.
In nearly every aspect.
Except they have better lyrics than Page Hamilton. Which wouldn't be difficult to be fair. Of course Stanier helps them out.
HOW FUCKING GOOD ARE BATTLES?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!!!!!!
Stanier is a fucking HERO !

lol better lyrics than Paige Hamilton? You gotta be kidding me.
The guys doesn't even sing!! All he does is talk and scream a couple words here and there!
