helpme something but how did you mix the chest and torso... one above the other and finally making them as one. I am try mix a full boby mesh that the program has with a face, replace the made face with the mesh´s.
i think that i can make the all low ploly-tools inside maya and make all in one uv then export each seperate tool inside zbrush and then merge them in one tool ,nd cz they are in thier place in the uv they will come in one uv after merging mmmmim tring this sulotion hope it works
very nice tutorial im really thankfull for it and i need help if u can that for first time i model gun with more than 10 tools and im very confused how can i export the parts from maya with the uv each tools and then sculpt the details and merge all and every each peace have her uv and texture cz if i do this the uvs will crashed ?wat do u think /..thank u so much for ur time
You can merge them by clicking on Merge Visible in the Subtool Palette. That will allow you to sculpt across them and then you can use Polygroups to separate them again.
ok so followed exactly, after the import part i still cant smooth the seems? i really dont want to get into retopology to do this as i plan on making loads of body parts and just need to smooth them together, it should be straight forwad! but this is zbrush!, please can you help !
When this was made there was no Merge Visible with Weld in the Subtool palette. Have you tried using that instead of the trick. Also make sure that the vert points are exactly the same on both Subtools.
Vert points are Vertex points. Every poly face has vertex points. Just make sure that if there are 30 vertex points on one of the subtools that the other subtools need to have 30 vertex points in order for the merge to work.
Can you share with us a tutorial of this problem please? i mean, i have 2 subtools, and number of different vertex points. so how can i solve this ? how can i make same vertex points ? i really need this tutorial.
hi, i merged the subtools with merge visible, but still cant get rid of the creases, and i dont have the subtool master plug in,, is there another way i can get rid of these joins? they are so frustrating!
This is exactly what I was looking for. I think after the seams setup, you can easily project your detail without distortion. I had this problem while back and kept me working with subtools on meshes that needed detail projected from one mesh to the other. Thank you so much for posting this. You are awesome, I ranked you 5/5! Best!
Thank you very much for this video, i was hoping to redo a creature i did a while back and this will help me to add some of the details i couldn't originally get to with my one mesh
You could always only export one subtool. Are you just trying to merge the subtools? you can do this with Merge Visible under Subtool Palette to export all the subtools.
why can't export more than one subtools .i wasn't having that problem before.all of a sudden this keeps happening.did i turn off a setting or some other reason. please help
Thanks for the video - very informative. However, I encountered a problem which was it did not preserve the geometry (when I clicked Group Split nothing happened). Is this anything to do with the fact that I sculpted the tools separately and then clicked "append" to import them into the same canvas? :(

This is not the only way. I am using ZBrush 3.1. I have another video that shows a way to merge several tools by using retopology.
Pixo3 3 years ago
is this the only way i can merge several subtools? which version of ZBrush do you have? or it is a matter of plugins?
