Hey, I used to work there (Hockeytown Cafe)back in 95-97 and the whole spring & summer of 02. Yes i was there when they won it in 02, soo much fun and memories! We are theee best hockey team ever!! I also have a Scotty Bowman autograph on my chef coat when he left in 02, i knew it would be worth some loot in the future. I could have gotten all there autograph, but i didnt want to bug the players to much at the victory party, i kinda regret it a little. But hey Scotty's name is enough! HOCKEYTOWN

we're Hockeytown because we're one of the most successful American hockey team in NHL history.

...and in 11 years we've won 4 Stanley Cups and are the closest to a dynasty the NHL is going to see for the time being.

Yeah, Minnesota is so great that the first team they had ran off to Texas! Anybody that has ever had a subscription to Sports Illustrated knows that hockey is the least covered sport in the magazine, which shows how much thought was put into them naming a "new" Hockeytown. Also, right now, the Wings have made it to the playoffs 17 years in a row, and until another hockey team can do that and win four Stanley Cups during that span, then Detroit will remain Hockeytown for a very long time...

I always love how people say Detroit isn't hockeytown anymore.... If you look over the last 20 years Detroit has had the most loyal hockey fans in the US, and just because we dont sell out every regular season game anymore we're not hockeytown???

I love Minnesota since it's a true hockey state, but all the other "fans" from other teams who got good in the last few years so you started going to games again, it's time to shut up...
