they are loud, you know someone's angry at you when you hear a 308. Lots of smoke. I don't think my ammo smokes that much. WHat variety is that? Russian?
If this video was called Spingfield SOCOM II ammo dump, would it have made a difference? Im just giving you a hard time because Im jealous of your gun...
@911mykidsdead tell that to my friends who deal with their ammo/magazine picky AR's at the range, while my Socom 16 runs all day long on everything i feed it.
my buddy grew up on a farm and thought he had "heard it all" in his days. Well, he decided to shoot my SOCOM II without hearing protection and fell to his knees. lol.
look smart guys, velocity is not your friend in close quarters battle. you want a slower round the closer you are to the target so the round can expand insted of a pass through and continue through walls. but the socom in 30 06 is a very good round and more adaptible than the 7.62x39.
The SOCOM beats the AK at close quarters hands down. The 7.62X51mm has more velocity and energy than the 7.62X39 AK round. The Italians used the Beretta made BM-59 which was based on the M1 Garand action however the parts are not interchangeable with the US Rifle M-14. Chinese receivers are forged and quite strong and will make for a good build. All other parts from Norinco and Polytech rifles that are threaded such as the Chinese barrel, flash suppressor & etc are metric threads.
@CaliforniaXlivin Yes but you will not be able to buy a normal one. You will only be able to buy the CA legal ones ( 10 round mags) and a few other things.
In Canada our laws suck... rifles under 18.5" are "restricted" and can only be taken to the range. So there are TONS of 18.6" M14s that have been rebuilt to look very much like a slightly longer SOCOM 2. Because we can import Chinese made M14 receivers it only costs about $900 to build one of these using imported USGI parts (bolt barrel gas system etc) on the Chinese receiver ...its a fantastic rifle and great fun and cheap enough to drag around in the brush or use as a truck gun. Nice video!!
@Thewestcoastshooter The chinese receivers we have are also forged instead of cast. They are also to USGI spec, unlike Springfield Armories rifles. Meaning SADLAK and ARMS18 mounts actually work on these.
Also, keep in mind we have a huge shipment of Italian-made m14's coming into the country any time that are supposed to be amazing, much better iron sights and overall finish than the Norcs and Polytechs.
@JERRYATIENZA Love mine too! Just trying to decide on which optics i should use. I want something thats not a huge hunting rifle scope. The Leupold CQ/T looked good but at 300 yards i hear you cant even see your target as the dot becomes to big.
Wow.... i want..... no i need one of these..

@365stroker - The SoCom comes in 7.62x51mm, not 30-06 which is the round for the M1 Garand.
