He says a tie occurs about 75 to 80% of the time in opponents that KNOW EACH OTHER. Pure chance is about 1/3, but opponents who know each other anticipate the other's move. As a result, their choice isn't random and therefore random chance is skewed. I don't think it's as high as 75-80% but it probably varies from the norm a little.

It's not from one game, other wise the collected info would be resembled by that one game. So if the probability is 1/3 and that probability is .75 or .80 you can say the P(k)=3C1(0.75 or .80)^3(1-0.80 or 0.75)^3-1 giving you probability of the 1in3 outcome.

@Jamal92554 It's not really to do with the outcomes; its to do with the idea that if people know how each other think, they are more likely to pick the same thing. This is of course assuming this is true etc.

i.e. if, hypothetically, I had exactly the same mindset as someone else, there could be a million outcomes but we could end up choosing the same outcome at the same time for every round, i.e. 100% similarity, despite there being a million choices to choose from.

The problem with this is, Geeks will always pick spock, There's a variation on this which changes Spock to Alien, Just a generic one, but it uses the same hand gesture. It would resolve the issue of geeks picking Spock every time.
