@MollyThePanda I think they changed that line for the movie. Because after Balthazar's line about being subtle, I remember Dave saying "Says the guy who wears a trenchcoat" or something like that.
This was hands down the best movie of the decade. It was funny, witty, the characters were likable, the magic effects were awesome, Nicholas Cage, and it still had a taste of the old-school Disney, while being up to code in the new age. The cleaning sequence was predictable even though I'd never seen Fantasia before this movie, and yet you still had an urge to see it instead of wishing to skip through. All in all 9.9/10, and only because it wasn't long enough for my taste.
They could've done way better by making it closer to Fantasia, it's just too convenient that all those cleaning products were already in the room. But its probably the best tribute you can get making a whole movie out of that one scene.
well i've never seen fantasia before. anastasia is as close as i can get. haha. i just thought the mop scene made it seem way too kid-disney but i guess that's what it was from so whatever. haha personally my favorite scene was the tesla coil version of secrets! somebody get that online!!
as much as a loved this scene, My favorite scene from Fantasia was the Pastoria scene with all the Greek mythology stuff. (despite the fact that they inserted the roman god of wine in it)
For those interested in the actual source, yes the upcoming movie 'Sorcerer's Apprentice' is extended off the story presented in 'Fantasia'. However, the scene in that movie was inspired by the 1797 poem by Goethe entitled 'The Sorcerer's Apprentice' in which an apprentice is left to do chores for the day while his mentor, the sorcerer, has left the workshop. The apprentice is lazy and doesn't want to fetch water himself so he enchants the broom. 'Fantasia' presented the story mostly right.
The Sorcerer's Apprentice. Spinn off of the Mickey Mouse Fantasia sequence. Good idea [x] Good special effects [x] Good music [xxxxxxx] Good actors [ ]
@DRisLegend200919 not all of the movie though i went too see it and the fantasia part ws just one scene from the movie....but it was still pretty awsome!
I remember seeing the "The Sorcerer's Apprentice sequence from the original "Fantasia" movie, when i was really young and, Watching this brings back good old memories from when i was a little kid watching the "Fantasia" movie over and over again, just because of the "The Sorcerer's Apprentice scene in it! :-), and because of how cool it thought it was at the time, and still i think its cool after all these years ! ;-).
my heart, she hurts! Why is Mickey not in it?! Don't get me wrong, this looks really good but Mickey needs a comeback. One that doesn't make him look and sound like Dora the Explorer *shudder*
@teatimemadness28 Well, to get one thing straight, the Sorcerer's Apprentice (both versions) are based on a poem by Goethe. So, even though this version is given a major contemporary update, it's more based on the original story than the Mickey Mouse cartoon.

Disney counterpart of Warner Brother's Harry Potter can easily do just what is shown here with those brooms in Quidditch!

It may be necessary to know that the plot of Fantasia bases on a poem of the german poet "Johann Wolfgang von Goethe" who wrote it in 1797.
A marvelous writer of prose and poetry and a great philosopher. May you take a look for background informations. I adore him.
