  • Well, i'm not sure that You know but outside Japan You can buy Natto that doesnt smell.. err, bad ;D.. still im not sure that "not smelly" Natto tastes the same as well, classic one.

Very cool videos, i really enjoy them! :)

  • Mmm looks pretty good. M personaly favorite breakfast is omu rice tho. My ma cooks that shit and it is fucking chronic

  • His accent <3

  • O_o In the Dominican Republic green plantains either fried or boiled with ham, salami or eggs, sometimes scrambled eggs with salami or ham and some onions with olive oil, but not scrambled like the Americans do with milk or water just the egg.

  • sake in the morning makes the day go whoo hoo!

  • i would nvr b able to make this for breakfast, i'll be 2 hours late.

  • i always hungry in the morning.. you're adorable, but raw egg? NOOOOOOOOOO~! T____T Haha.

  • I need Nori for egg and natto rice! If possible, Japanese pickles, too. Anyways, I wanna give you 醤油さし. ^o^/

  • @runnyrunny999 he means at the beginning 9of your video

  • @runnyrunny999 he mean the white guy at beginning ;P

  • @runnyrunny999 I think he was talking about the guy at the start..

  • Making runny-san makes - makes MY DAY. It was pretty good. :)

  • Id try it.. even the natto. Not too sure about the raw egg though... Why cant that just be cooked?

  • No you will not become Japanese by eating this crap and speaking there language. Sorry...you can continue masturbating to Anime and practicing you stupid skills of using sticks to eat your food. FFS we can forks n shit in 2012

  • @runnyrunny999 Hey, Runny-san. You wonder how or what our disgusting fish is called and how it smells. Well it's called Surstorming it's a very smelly fish that smells an awful lot. For example, it smells like you have a salmon in your fridge that has been there for 3 months and it is dipped in old sour lemon juice. It may sound very disgusting but it is incredibly good. That runny-san now you've got a fairly large amount of information.

    ~ Bye runny-san. From ChristianSniiper. ♥

  • @runnyrunny999 I think he (@bbx221) means the guy at the beginning lol love you runny <3

  • Great videooo! :DD

  • Well if you guys are that impressed maybe you should study Japanese yourselves. It honestly isn't too hard if you study enough.

  • is olive oil fancy because in my country we don't use olive oil alot , they re expensive

  • Pretty cool that he can speak japanese :O

  • Typical breakfast for me is a cup of Coffee

  • damn over 1 hour to make breakfast i would just have a bowl of cereal

  • @nguyensongminh239 ROFLLL HAHAHAH

  • It depends when I'm at home in Hungary or in the Scotland, in Hungary my family and I eat a typical farmer's breakfast with kolbász (dried sausage), fresh vegetables like sweet peppers and tomatoes, and thick cut bread, and fruit tea, in Scotland I usually have a cup of milk tea or coffee with a fried egg on a slice of toast and some yogurt :)

  • WHite speak japanese WHAT SORCERY IS THIS (no racist mean)

  • @bbx221 I'm white and i speak japanese and i live in Japan. Should i wait for Hagrid to come and tell me i'm a wizard or something?

  • Lmao! all this for just breakfast? I thought it was dinner ! :D

    But looks so delicious!!

  • Hi runny! After I watched your video I went out and bought natto. First time I hated it. Second time I thought it was alright. Third time and I absolutely loved it! Thanks for introducing me to this wonderful food :)

  • for me...strong coffee, a piece of beef or fish, bread, jam, butter.....and that's it

  • hmmm...I havent tried natto yet...but have been thinking abt it for quite some time now...and in the morning...if its too early in the morning I dont get hungry too..but later at around 10/11am I'll get hungry...hmm..the typical breakfast i always eat is bread, eggs and milk..haha..

  • NO japanese person soaks kombu kelp for 20 minutes before breakfast, 1 hour for clams what! This is in no way typical. Or maybe they do and thats why I always see them rushing to the train station and doing makeup on the train. My family here has sliced tomato, rice with egg and natto and fruit. coffee to drink. done

  • @tokyodave1982 Can always prepare them the night before, so you can just cook it without the hassle in the morning :)

  • @ChewiePill do you have any idea how typical japanese live in tokyo? and kombu kelp would turn the water into semi jelly overnight. Better to fuck with than to eat.

  • @tokyodave1982 Calm down, mister expert. Not every japanese person eats breakfast like you do.

  • @tokyodave1982 No need to attack me, you act as if you're the representative of the people of Japan. I barely stated that things can be prepared beforehand, I did not specifically say anything about the kelp or clams because there are other things you can cook for a 'typical' Japanese breakfast. Just FYI mister know it all - Japan does not equal Tokyo, just because Tokyo people do not eat like this does not mean the rest of Japan doesn't either.

  • @ChewiePill attack you? ask my wife about that! She lied to me showing me life in japan (on the rice farm and the family house in tokyo) Your coffin can be prepared before hand too if you want! I`m the toughest `typical` non breakfast eatin` Japan not Tokyo mister expert around this fucking country! Relax dork, you been trolled. Go shoot up a crushed up pocky while using your naruto headband to tie off. U have to admit that last line was great. Wish my wife luck

  • I live in germany and I eat toast or cornflakes for breakfast but when I go to England I eat english breakfast :D

  • love to have it everyday!!! wonder how long it takes to cook tho??? i'm living in UK and my breakfast it's a cup of green tea, but love to have cantonese Dim Sum instead if i can XXX

  • Maybe you crave natto when your body is vitamin K2 deprived? Go with your craving, natto is really good for you! (curry covers the, uh, unusual smell)

  • i suppose u can't do that w/ eggs in the US?

  • @007turtlesir You can, I know a few people that do, and have been for years. But you're gambling with the risks, in Japan they don't have to worry one bit.

  • @baconandllamas but the rest looks delish!!!! I should try this sometime

  • @baconandllamas BECAREFUL!! Use a non-caged eggs JUST IN CASE

  • I don't kno about the raw egg in the natto and rice.

  • Cool that's an interesting way to eat natto

  • u r so cute XD

  • great video.,thanx for sharing. Sometimes I make make a breakfast burrito with a fried egg, fresh tomatoe, lettuce, salsa and cheese. Coffee too:)

  • @gev2323 you do know that they now have pasterized eggs in the shell and even if they didn't it is only 1 in 20,000 eggs that carry the bacteria not the mention in properly handled eggs the number of living strains is low enough not to overwhelm the bodies natural defences so eating a raw eggs at home is not an issue as long as you are not pregnate elderly of very young and so long as you mantain basic sanitary protocal

  • no wonder these slant eyed motherfuckers live the longest! A typical breakfast for me would be blueberry pancakes with maple syrup, bacon and two eggs (poached), toasted bread with jam, couple sausages, maybe a bowl of cinnamon oat meal, and some hash browns.

  • hey man everything looks delicious im going to try it and tell you about, it im from mexico and i hope i get a chance to show you some of our typical food.. good life bro.

  • I don't think we could make this in the US, our eggs aren't always safe raw. : \

  • @gev2323 That's one of the dumbest things I've read. Eggs are eggs.

  • @GonetoSleep21 Chickens carry salmonella which can also get into the eggs. Chickens in the US get antibiotics pumped into them and as a result it can cause a antibiotic resistant strain of salmonella, as a result a person who is infected will have vomiting, cramping, and diarrhea for as long as the disease remains in their system since medication isn't effective. This info is from the World Health Organization, is it still dumb?

  • @gev2323 I do agree, I wouldn't eat a raw egg. But in Japan, the eggs are properly handed and can be eated raw. I think they know that eggs can have bacterias, and wouldn't eat it raw if it did.

  • @GonetoSleep21 they can hold salmonella, so he's not that dumb, I would never eat a raw egg :P

  • i'll starve before i get to eat anything lol, too lazy to make that much effort in the morning

  • @nandesneto

Do you know why the Japanese matches their hands before a meal and say ”itadakimasu"?

It is a meaning "We wish to express our gratitude instead of getting the life for all foods".

It is a diametrically-opposed viewpoint that the Japanese has coarsely treated the life of the living thing.

  • 不愉快です。文化を語るならば学んでください。ガッカリしました。

  • Thanks for your good food recipes! I'm 4th generation Japanese american and I LOVE natto! I eat it for breakfast all the time. (^_^) keep up the good work!

  • I'm Japanese. It is traditional breakfast for family in Japan.

But we can make it more easy today.

For example, dashi soup can be made from Dashi-powder.

Usually , we throw asari in salt water the day before we eat.

And we use more easy ingredients , wakame , to-fu , etc.

Pieces of sliced trout are sold with salt on it.

  • i just love japanese culture and food ! thats just amazing ^_____^

  • i never have natto before..and i will try also that egg natto rice doesnt look gross..that looks sooo good :) but i can just put the yolk of the egg only ?

  • Why respect? because......It's Culture of Japanese!!!!!

  • all i learned from this video is that it takes 4 hours to make breakfest in japan

  • @vennish11 Right?

  • Well, I say this is a little rich Japanese breakfast as a Japanese.

  • In Japan, their eggs are clean.

  • Country: United States of America

Breakfast: oat meal with brown sugar and raisins. It's very important to cook the raisins the same time as the oats, so they get plump and juicy! You could just boil them in water separate if they are quick cooking oats.

Smoked maple sausage and butter milk waffles with home made maple syrup. Make the waffle mix the night before for fluffy waffles. Equal parts sugar to water, boil until clear, remove from heat and add maple extract. It's a strong flavor, so a

  • Apple. Or banana. Or cucumber. Or bag of carrots. On good day, soy sauce omelet. Thats my breakfast.

  • Every single Japanese food I've ever eaten has tasted amazing. Without a doubt I think Japanese dishes are the best out there, but the raw egg kinda scares me /: can't you get sick?

  • @withlovedeezee Some people drink raw eggs for protein, so I don't think an egg on top of rice will hurt... unless of course, there's like a salmonella outbreak(or whatever it is.)

  • @withlovedeezee its safe to do so in japan but i live in the US and eat raw eggs like this all the time. not a big deal

  • they're still alive?? I love japanese cuisine, but that's my only problem with it...those dishes with alive animals. Terrible. Barbarian.

  • @nandesneto I hate to break it to you, but most invertebrates do not feel pain. Please don't say ignorant things like the Japanese are barbarians because they cook live shellfish. Any chef worth his/her salt will cook them the same way.

  • @nandesneto Are you joking or are you just plain stupid?

  • @nandesneto ...you do realize that cooking them kills them, right? It's not like you're eating them alive. You kill them before you eat them, just like you do with crabs, lobster...

  • @nandesneto gtfo troll

  • I eat a bowl of cereal.

  • eggs, bacon, toast, and orange juice I suppose I don't really eat breakfast myself I just eat lunch and dinner.

  • let's make salt water, done

  • umm... I breakfast at 2 hrs max to get up. usually oatmeal or an egg breakfast with sausage and always with fruit and milk x)

  • i wish i was there to get all the stuff u use bcuz i cant find the stuff here and i love japanese food

  • Why are people freaking out about eating raw egg when people in Japan eat raw fish all the time?

  • Runny typical breakfast where u come from is tacos! :)

  • wtf makes the natto sticky?! and why eat raw egg D:? isnt that bad for you? like...yknow, the salmonella and all that? not hatting, just wondering

  • I live in the US, so there isn't really a "typical" breakfast for the entire country. lol But mine is activia (yogurt with probiotic stuff in it) and a breakfast bar. It's pretty boring. And the natto may have looked weird, but I'll try anything once! What does it taste like? Can you describe it at all?

  • Wa, you can eat raw egg like that? In my house, we'd never do something like that, but maybe in Japan you can get them more fresh than in America? Does the heat from the rice cook the egg a little? Honestly, I've never smelled natto, but....that rice bowl looked really yummy to me!

  • im afraid to try raw eggs. lol but it looks good!

  • @gosutuan technically it is, but I think it has something to do with the acids in it.

  • Natto and hot rice <3

  • Tamago Kaki Gohan ........."Gohan Desu Yo !"

  • I love natto! Natto is a superfood. It contains an enzyme that helps reduce blood clots reducing the risks of heart attacks and strokes. I believe that almost every Asian country has a similar variant, but due to teenagers eating more junk food, the rate of people with heart disease has sky rocketed in the recent years. I dip my sukiyaki in raw eggs too. But wait, isn't mayonnaise made from raw eggs too? Duhhh!!!

  • U can see the slmone srink!!

  • youre gorgeous and respects to jap ppl! i love the culture!!! i do so much! and i do get hungry... a lot like I MOST EAT hungry lol mostly eggs- cooked eggs coffee and milk with sugar some toaste bacon maybe or pancakes or simply fruit and juice! lol :D

  • I tried natto with squid and i liked it! put more recipes from natto.

In my country Argentina we the typical breakfast is coffe with milk and mediaslunas *(a pastry similar to croissant but sweet). We can also have toasted bread with dulce de leche( a custard mede with milk)

  • @claparapa in puerto rico is named quesitos coffeein latinamerica is a most!!! lol :)

  • i'm form holland and our typical breakfast is just a stupid bread with something like, cheese or ham or something sweet xD

  • I barely eat breakfast! Only sometimes :D

  • No, no, no... why would anyone eat natto?

Even @runnyrunny999 looks reluctant to put that in his mouth. At least a minute or more before he could do it. I couldn't do it.

  • I can't remember the last time I ate breakfast. I only eat lunch and dinner.

  • That looks good I'll definitely try it and I eat leftovers for breakfast because I don't like to waste food. :)

  • The soup looks amazing.... *drools*

  • bake and salt fish lol

  • runny! you so cute! You make everything look tasty!!!! <3 <3 <3 I shall eat it happily!!! Itadakimasu~! <3 :D

    seriously tho.. I will :D

  • Well typical breakfast in SLOVAKIA :D iiiissss bread with almost anything on it, or fried or boiled eggs with bread of course :D but if nobody is making it for you, you just eat anything you find or just step to the day hungry and in hope that someone will be cooking launch today :D but what we eat most and SVK people will agree bread rolls with cod in mayonnaise you can buy it almost everywhere and its healty . ... i hope but delicious it is for sure :D

  • If i had a breakfast like that, i would be hungry every morning!

  • 9:51 i don't think it looks gross, i think it looks fucking delicious

  • For me that looks super gross, I wouldn't touch it with a 10 ft pole, maybe except of salmon, but, oh well, i have to respect the kurture.

I guess it's very healthy though! No wonder Japanese are healthy and slim.

In my country (Poland) typical breakfast are usually sandwiches with cheese or ham, cottage cheese, eggs or cereal and black tea with sugar and lemon or coffee. So nothing special.

  • The Swedish lutfisk my Dad forced me to eat every Christmas as a child smells way worse than natto. The things people eat just because of culture. Although when I was stationed in Japan with the US Navy I never actually tried natto, I couldn't get past the smell it reminded me too much of the lutfisk and salt fish that I hated as a child.

  • I work the night time shift,(14 hours ) So I am always way too tired when I get home to even bother with breakfast. But I love breakfast, normally just a bagel with cream cheese or a bowl of cereal, if I really want to make something I really like biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs, bacon, toast and coffee. - Love from Colorado / USA

  • lol i am the same i dont get hungry when i wake up i love your channel it is very entertaining keep up the good work!! :D

  • how do you have that much time in the morning to make all that!

  • @UltimaFanX you have to not be a lazy fucker

  • Here in Texas. i normally cook up some some sausage and eat it with a nice cold bowl of cereal. :D

  • One of the major reasons westerners might say "Nasty!" is because over here eggs are mass produced and farmed in rather unhygienic ways so there is always the chance of getting salmonella poisoning from raw eggs and meats. Although that doesn't bother some anyway.

  • I would kill to eat you your food. >:I

  • A que hora te levantas para tener listo tu desayuno a las 7am?

  • Do the beans taste good by themselves

  • i like natto!

  • WHY AM I WATCHING THESE WHEN I'M HUNGRY!?!?!

  • it all looks so gooooooooood!!

  • The only reason I wake up hungry is because I watch your vids before bed and remember that in the morning XD

  • i cant eat raw egg...

  • I come from Turkey and here typical breakfast is bread, cheese, olives, eggs, jam or honey. Eating fish for breakfast is a very weird idea for Turkish people xD BUT I'd love it! I do get hungry in the morning, around half an hour after I wake up, and I would so eat the soup, fish, and the rice. Natto and raw egg is scary for me. Lol.

  • i think the body releases something during sleep that reduces hunger, but that it's still a good idea to eat first thing in the morning.

  • typical breakfast in my country Mexico, well really in the city that i live in now Torreon, is called a "gordita" it's like a mexican burrito but flat and round. People normally eat 3 or 4 and drink soda or something. They are quite cheap and you can get them almost at every corner. They're not very healthy but they taste good.

  • @lagranmariachi hey you forgot about chilaquiles! lolololololo but gorditas are good too, YUM! XD

  • I learned what Natto is from Gintama. Lol. I wanna try it. :(

  • I'd love to eat this

  • i guess you cant diss it till you try it, but I usually eat a fried egg over rice for breakfast. Also to answere your question, no, I don't get hungry in the morning but i know that if i dont eat in the morning I'll be starving by lunch.

  • gallo pinto!

  • The only way I'd eat raw egg is if I kept the chickens and harvested the eggs myself. Otherwise I know the government screws with it and THAT'S why it'll kill you.

  • @XXNerdzillaXX

The egg meat itself is clean. The bacteria and diseases (if there even are any, its very unlikely) are on the outer side of the eggs crust

  • This was certainly an interesting piece of info. I don't think the Natto, Rice, Egg mixture is gross looking, I just question the adding of a raw egg. Anyway, my typical breakfast is either a large glass of chocolate milk with a Special-K bar, cereal, strips of ham cooked with eggs together, tamales on special occasions with salted sour cream, or this special soup with parmesean cheese are my typical breakfasts.

  • I feel faint just lookin at these..

  • Very healty! Fermented and raw food is very good for you. You are not hungry in the morning because you eat a very nutritous diet. I was always very hungry in the morning and needed a big breakfast to get me satisfied. Now I eat healthier, more raw, fresh food and more japanese things like miso. I now get up in the morning and feel fit before I have my first meal. The first thing I take is a green vegetable juice or something fermented. I need less food, but get more nutrition!

  • Not sure if I would dare to eat a raw egg

  • Baguette and croissant :)

  • music @ 8:20 reminds me of sesame street

  • I eat whatever is left in my fridge in the morning :P

  • Luckily for me, I can't smell! So bring on the natto! :D

  • I wish you were my older brother so you can make me food ^_^ I would be a good little sister and learn a lot from you!~ ^_^

  • Okay, I agree, it looks disgusting, but yet again, one of our national dishes are pork skin infested with worms, salted beyond oblivion.

  • @eliten0Ob Where this is from ?

  • @Hellheim88 Denmark!

It's called "flæskesvær", and it's sold along with chips.

  • LOL.

When you mixed the egg and the natto and the rice together, I was like 'are you joking?!' and then you said 'i'm not joking'. :l

Anyway.. is that.. raw egg? O_O

  • @iMsBear it's quite typical in japan actually, they eat a lot of stuff raw

  • You call this ''simple meal'' ??? For me i'd take me like 3 hrs til it's ready to serve, LOL

  • My sister went to Japan for a few months and she ate natto while she was there... and loved it. I like raw eggs, but many people in America do not eat them because our eggs can make you sick sometimes if you don't cook them.

  • yo runny don't worry, most people don't find raw egg that disgusting, and natto tastes pretty damn good

  • In Ireland, there are a lot of simple choices for breakfast, like oatmeal andtoast and stuff. A more traditional one is with black breakfast pudding mixed in bacon/sausage fat, has mushrooms stirred in and served with eggs and tomatoes. I LOVE savory breakfasts! This was an interesting video, I liked it. My fav part was the natto. It looks like so much fun to play with. :)

  • 1:17 LOL... runny, you are so funny... "even japanese don't know how to use chopstick"... haha

  • That's an amazing video! In Italy Breakfast is light cause we are use to eat more for Lunch. Many Italian go to a BAR and have Cornetto and Cappuccino, but others stay at home: rusks with butter and jam or Nutella, cookies, cakes, some fruits, or cereal, milk with coffe, just coffe or tea, but someone prefer to eat something "salted" like bread and ham, pizza...I have green tea with orange flowers honey, some dried plums or kiwi and 2 rusks with blueberries jam. I need sweet in the morning!

  • That Swedish canned fish-surstromming-makes natto smell like roses in comparison. It smells like satan himself ate herring then pooped in a can months later.

  • I'm not much hungry in the morning but after a while I'll have a Greek yogurt cup. They're small but filing, and the strawberry gel at the bottom is oishii! It's not super sweet either.

  • I like porridge/sandwiches for breakfast
