  • God, Woolworths was an awesome shop. I'm sitting here right now with a pencil branded Woolworths and sort of glancing at it longingly.

  • I WASN'T IN THAT ONE!

    ...yet.

  • hahahaha... he was reading the news of the world

  • ....... does this actually make sense? even a little bit..?

  • Sorry, I didn't get the point.

  • lo wax on wax off

  • Wax on wax off, you was in that one lol, don't forget the Karate Kid lol

  • A supermarket?

Geez, when I was growing up in the South USA, WW was a "dime" store where you could buy just about everything for a dime. (we're talking many years ago).

It sold inexpensive (cheap) clothes, brika-brak, candy, had a sandwich counter , etc. When I was probably 8 years old, my older brother and I stole some combs, glass marbles and other junk. When my Mom found it she took us back to the store and made us apologize to the manager.

Lots of memories of Woolworths growing up.

  • lol, that was pretty funny... jackie chan is aweosme... dunno why everyone is saying R.I.P Woolworths though... Woolworths still exists in Australia, except it's never been a clothing store, it's a supermarket...

  • R.I.P WOOLWORTHS

  • RIP WoolWhorths.

  • Not his finest hour.

  • "wax on wax off" no he's in that one

  • Ya know, he used to be in Hollywood :-p

  • Lmao good commercial.

  • I love the irony of Jackie Chan getting mad for mistakenly being associated with Karate Kid when he's playing Mr. Miyagi in the upcoming remake.

  • "I wazant n' da wan."

  • congratulations Jackie Chan on 100 years in movies

  • this is the real reason why Woolies went under they bought the coolest man in the world

  • What the fuck did I just watch?

  • i remember there xmas adverts they would always have a celebrity in.

  • TAKEN FROM WIKIPEDIA: According to press reports on 17 February 2009, the plan by Tony Page to re-open a chain of shops adopting the Woolworths business model but under a different name, are due to go ahead with an initial 50 shops planned. - ANY MORE INFO ANYONE??

  • @Michw120 Your answer, young grasshopper is in those three magic words: TAKEN FROM WIKIPEDIA

  • hahahahahahhahahahahahaha jackie smacked woolworths out of commision

  • Jackie Chan's paycheck made Woolworth close down.

  • total waste of money.

  • hey wonder why they got in so much debt when there wasting money adverting 75p t-shirts with jackie chan..

  • Jackie Chan killed Woolworths!

  • 00:30 I wasn't in that one

Shame they shut down, I used to go there years ago.

  • girl rides naked on motorbike through Wollworths in Redcar UK. From the movie "is that it?"

  • Just got an advent calendar from Woolworths.

All the windows were boarded up.

  • lol, excellent, just made my day!!!

  • Ooooh how the mighty have fallen! Jackie what are you doing mate!? Yeah yeah some fat nerd who spends 25hrs a day online is now gonna scream at me that "it was for charity." Yeah ok fair play but I can't help but cringe at this

  • lol they paid him minimum wage

  • jackie chans rocks in his movies...

but most of his ads really suck.

  • capoeria1980.....ur an idiot...he did it for free lol, coz he wanted to do sumthin good unlike most ppl!

its just a shame the ad wasnt on tv longer...orelse charity would have got more money!!

  • Dude, Woolworths isn't the best brand to do an ad with, but we got bloody Jakie chan in a british ad. Too awesome.

  • there was a time when the stars were lining up to do ad's for woolies!

  • That was.... so bad.

  • such a shit ad man, need to fire the writer and director

  • any 1 now how much he got paid

  • if its woolies paying him them probably just over minimum wage, i hate it there, im leaving soon tho hah yeah

  • lol. i got over paid at asda and they didnt know lol

  • @qwazzymodo191 He didn't get any money.. but free pick n mix at Woolies for life!! Oops..

  • he he he i work in woolworths, and i remember, seeing the ad at work about 3 months ago, saying jackie chan would be there making a new ad, and he didnt get paid loads, he did it for free but charity donation from woolworths to kids first

  • it's just a advert guys, stop making such a big deal out of it

  • true, its only a commercial(tv ad)

  • Jackie would have only done this to fill time as he doesnt like to sit around and do nothing - while he was in UK he probably had a free morning. Also all the money he gets from adverts he gives to charity. Give him a break!

  • lol wtf look you naked!

  • they must have payed him LOADS

  • Why did Jackie do this ad?! He's playing along with the stereotype that all Asians know martial-arts, "Wax, on, wax off/I wasn't in that one!" He's always said he's been against that narrow-minded view.

  • I miss Woolworth. It's nice to know it's still around in some part of the world. Blast Wal-Mart and all the other boxes for costing us yet another great American tradition.

  • omg i woke up n saw this ,this morning and i thought i was in some odd dream

  • Whoa, 2 pounds for an Kids Jeans is really a ridiculosly low price

  • This video won't play for me...

  • 0_0

  • wtf is he doing a woolworths ad for lol!!!

woolworths must have paid him millions!

  • Is that really Jackie Chan? He is a millionaire hollywood movie star and martial arts Master! Why would he come over to England to do an ad for Woolworths?

  • my sentiments exactly

  • Why would Nicolas Cage do a Pachinko add in Japan and Chevy chase a Add for Turkish Cola?

(u can find them all here on youtube)

  • worst gimmick of WWE ever

  • omg.....what has happened here!!!!!!!!!

  • a sad moment for humanity

  • I cant believe the depths some people will stoop for a few shity quid.

  • I love this advert XD I live the little cry the sheep makes when Jackie is preparing to attack

And when he goes Hold on you naked lulz

  • What the hell? Shouldn't he be governor of something by now?

  • Who'd have thought such a big movie star would be in an advert.

  • what has he lowered himself to!

  • Darkuser999, I agree to a certain extent, and I adore Jackie too. But look at the prices of those clothes, 70p for a t-shirt?!?!?!? and where do you think those clothes are being made? That worries me. I'm not saying he's sold his soul to Woolies, I'm just wondering if they disclosed the finer details of the commercial before he signed on the dotted line.

  • LOL - Yeah, I wondered why Jackie would do endorse them when I saw adverts on the front of a local Woolworths store, but only for about a second. After that I just thought, holy sh*t, I gotta buy more stuff from Woolworths now I know Jackie Chan is endorsing them! Therefore, the system works.

  • oh no

  • wow wen was this made? recently? i haven't seen it on tv anywhere... but it's so cool! xD

  • All of you guys are full of shit. You call yourselves real fans? Jackie Chan is a global sensation and it is up to him if he helps promote Woolworths. And of course he doesn't do it for the money...if you are true fans, whenever he has money given to him, he donates to charities.

If it was Jackie Chan beating the crap out of the stuffed animals and doing a 360 somersault dive out of the window, you'd all be like little kids 'WOW SO COOL!'

    Kids.

  • yeah hes cool like that.

  • Jackie Chan is the highest paid Asian actor so i doubt he did this for the money. He probably thought it was good idea considering all the current media attention on the Chinese and the olympics. The stereotypes are not that heavy and anyway Jackie Chan is already a stereotype!

  • poor jackie.

  • Real fans wouldn't be so fickle and berate his appearance in this ad. It obviously is "his style" to do this or he wouldn't have done it. Just shows he doesn't take himself as seriously as some "fans" do.

    I say good on him...!

  • When we see Jackie in Sesame street?

But seriously. Not all his real fans that. They want, he do it less comedies and act more in drama roles, like New Police Story.

In Hong Kong he do it much different things.

After RH. He talked about, he want compete Oscar statue. These jobs not even close if he still want get serious actor in Hollywood. Well, next week come the forbidden kingdom. Hopefully this movie change a little bit his Hollywood career.

  • i completely agree with you. At least Jackie is getting some airtime in the UK!

  • LOL XD

  • OH MY GOD IT'S JACKIE CHAN!

  • hahaha that's funny.....but it did seem like a joke.....Jackie....why man...

  • lol "ready for the parde?

  • I couldnt watch it...is this some kind of JoKE???? JACKIE WHY??

  • He done this advert for one reason, his new film starring him and Jet Li is out over here soon.

  • ive heard news that jet and jackie will work together again after the forbidden kingdom.

  • WHYYYYYY

  • W.

    T.

    F.

  • Jackie, you're much better than this stereotypical shit.

  • A missed opportunity? I don't know, it just doesn't seem to work.

  • that funny jackie doing woolworths advert,

    fuckin ridiculous but hilarious

    x

  • just seen this advert seconds ago loved it

wax on wax off i wasn't in that one

    that'll always make me laugh

  • Omgoodd Has Jackie Been reduced to this shitttt....I wonder how much there paying him???

    Anyone Know??

  • why is jackie chan in a woolworths advert? WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF WTF

  • holy shit that is racially insensitive:( Bruce Lee is probably turning in his grave...

  • "holy shit that is racially insensitive"

    Uh, how?

  • Okay, so basically it is stereotypical of his ethnical origins - for example, when the dog says "Hey Jackie, wax on, wax off" - implying that because he's asian he must belong to that genre. Furthermore, i feel he ridicules the genre which Bruce Lee fought so hard to improve... it's a massive lack of respect. Moreover, if it wasn't so inappropriate, why has it been edited for television viewing?

  • "when the dog says "Hey Jackie, wax on, wax off" - implying that because he's asian he must belong to that genre."

Or, maybe it's the fact that he actually *does* belong to that genre?

" Furthermore, i feel he ridicules the genre which Bruce Lee fought so hard to improve"

Jakie Chan obviously has a sense of humor. Didn't Bruce Lee, too?

"Moreover, if it wasn't so inappropriate, why has it been edited for television viewing?"

Edited for time. Advertising slots are expensive.

  • I can appreciate where you're coming from with the initial points but not the Bruce Lee part. He would hate this.

    No worries though:D

  • alot of adverts are shortned, like sonys ones, the one with the rabbits has been shortened, and I'm pretty sure rabbits made clay aren't inappropriate. Although I don't know why people are making such a big deal, it's a advert for gods sake, it's a blip in our lives, it's not worth making a huge hoot about.

  • can you explain what wax on wax off means, plz?

  • Ever seen Karate Kid? Prob not if you're a young teenager.

  • its pat morita ways of teaching kungfu to dummies :D

  • this is the single greatest thing i have seen in my life.

  • The Rush Hour series has really lost it's way hasn't it.

  • The Rush Hour series has really lost it's way hasn't it.
