They're forgetting one very important thing, that was recorded in 2000 are in 2011, and already at that time, though not much, electricity ran the world. she says she lit candles and read a book, okay, and in cold months how does she do? even for drinking water, electricity is needed...to run water pumps, etc...we are dependent on electricity, not so much the quality of life but, increasingly, for our own survival, and still do not realize how fragile the electric grid.

@BluChimera JJ is an abomination indeed. But I don't bash Berman for one simple reason: he along with Bob Justman were responsible for casting Patrick Stewart as Picard. They persisted while Gene tried hard to find someone else. TNG would have been nothing without Patrick so kudos for Berman for getting that one right.

@phantasmbunny people seem to think the 2012 theories are about the mayans and don't actually do any readong about the science of it. I don't think the world will end next year, but something will happen, solar flares are getting stronger all the time.. Plus, Y2k wasn't stupid to begin with, there was real possibility of damage, a few minor incidents did in fact happen,.

Like in the opening, he was talking about all the predictions that hadn't come true, and he mentioned terrorism. I kind of had a jerk reaction to that, its sad to look in retrospect what would happen roughly just 1 year later.
