As I remember.... this song came out on a 45 and the flip side was "shades" What was so genius about that combination is that on one side, the future is so BRIGHT that you gotta wear shades, ... but flip the 45 over and then you are reminded that life is hard. (and certainly not bright) Pure Genius.

Nice to see this classic up for all who weren't around in 1885. Its a pity the video is squished up and a bit dark and grainy. It makes it hard to appreciate just how good the original camera work magic really is.

this song was a classic when it was used in Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2 when Dennis Hopper was getting the feel for the chainsaw he just bought and what was going to come much later on for Leatherface & Drayton Sawyer.............

My mom heard "The Future's So Bright..." on the radio and got me this tape 22 years ago. I was only 9 years old and in third grade, and this tape got CONSTANT play. I still have it (also have the CD, which I got years later), and it's still in decent condition.

I also agree that they should've made a video for "Facts About Cats", although the whole CD is awesome.

Like I said before, my mom got me hip to this band, purely by chance. When it came to this song, she thought the verse about Big Mack's heart attack was a bit morbid. :)

This was a powerful album with a distinctive sound - dark and dangerous, but with a sweet side between the couple. I loved it a lot.

When I was a radio dj in St. Louis, I got to hang out with Timbuk 3 two times when they came to town. GREAT folks, really cool and down to earth. Got some great photos with them, and cherish my old vhs of their videos, wish it was on DVD!
