I remembered seeing Revolting Cocks back in the 90's here in Dallas. I really wanted to throw something and hit Al so the only thing I had in my pocket that was big enough was my lighter. Needless to say, I barely missed his head by like 2 inches lol!
Typical liberal nonsense. Palin 2012! Maybe she'll clean this country up, throw scumbags like this guy in jail and we can have music out there with a messege, and not a socialist anti-corporate messege like these fools.
@MarcusErection ya. sarah palin will make a great leader..until she quits..like she did as governor. this guy >>> you. hes an artist. youre a lemming. you dont think he made a crap ton of money for his labels? youre mistaken, dittohead.
He worked his ass off to "get there" and did the tours, th shows.. many artists told me the same thing , feeling like a damn jukebox.. he always spoke his mind,
You didnt always like him, but he did a lot to break thru music genre barriers, and propel'd th Alt chicago music scene alot
th record industry ignored it all until Al & Wax Trax finally got their attention. and So now he just wants to do new projects ,.. what else is there repletion to death? C'Mon..
I knew Al since very early on , and I think he's just bein Al and tellin it like it is.
I was backstage and in the studio w him many times, he was very comitted compared to most poster boy rockers. I saw personally how hard he would work on the albums, mixing all night, going over every sound and element... his true love is obviuosly producing and mixing, the creative part of the proccess. You had yer show, they did it to death, i dont blame him One bit for going forward to new things.
If you cant understand what all is talking about then dont criticize him, He saying that themost productive moments are when he has recorded something that will live forever and kicks ass rather than playing the same old things over and over. Use your minds and put yourself in his spot, He's an artist not a robot!!!!!
Although i do see why he may be tired of live shows and touring. Hes gettin old, sobeit start "twirrlin buttons" youve earned that, but please keep it HARD and fresh man. I dunno I though the last couple ministry albums were pretty good.
Wow, he has turned into an asshole. To think he profited from me buying his stuff and seeing his shows only to hear him bitch about how awful it was to have to do that. I guess I should have just given him the money so he could stay at home with people he liked instead of paying him for actually working. WHat a jerk he is now. I want a refund.
I appreciate his honesty. I think in a less 'in your face' way he was trying to get across the point of he is a musician, not a performer. Just listen to his music, its layer upon layer of deep structure.Being onstage isn't hard work, writing, recording an album is. And onstage no matter how good his recent output is 90% of the crowd are wanting Psalm 69 or Mind. But then again I could be talking shit.
@mickjagerbaby - Nope your exactly right. The problem here is that his new output is really not that great. I wish they wouldve never left the industrial-esque style metal tunes. They invented that genre and owned it and it was amazing. Then they moved on to just average metal music that really wasnt very original and it lost my interest instantly. Its sad really, the death of a legend.
who the fuck paid for that 13 acre studio he built, it the fuck wasnt revolting cock or prong fans, it was ministry, so maybe next time u sit your fat ass in your new studio u can give us ministry fans that bought your cds and went to your shows some respect, thanx
I been a effing HUGE MInistry fan for years and cannot believe how bad he dissed pleasing his fans \
\Come on, I"ve been in a band, albeit a local one, but please, without the fans and his so called overthis played out songs, he'd still be a noname loser
Subject: RevCo Announce The LubricaTour .The Revolting Cocks will be on tour throughout the US with Special Guest Artist (in select cities ONLY) Al Jourgensen of Ministry.
very honest mr Al . I dont give a shit if ministry's gone, i have their songs and i will crank them up every time when i'll have my buddies for a cognac(!) beer and bbq in my back yard and i wanna pissoff my rich fuckin neighborhood..hehehe . Some revolting cocks works too. cheers all Minstry and other heavy rock fans.
He released The Last Sucker in 07 I think. Burton Bell had part in that but he didn't write it. Al is at his best (this applies to all Metal) when he is royally pissed off. He is not royally pissed off anymore and can't write music when he is happy.
I picked up Ministry in 1990 and then went back and sourced the rest, loved the earlier stuff etc etc. Loved the later stuff..however, MInistry has not been creative in some time...and for Al to speak like this (I understand what the repetitiveness could be like) is really lame. Lets say Barak Obama got sick of pushing the same policies and you just said :fuck it, you know what, the people who put me here bore me"...Fuck Al, i love you, but you need a punch in the face.
Touring is work and a grind, but I mean at the end of the day these are the people responsible for everything you've got. Its pretty repulsive to hear Al describe live performances this way. Contrast that to Barker who is playing with a no name band just for the love of music.
I love all of Al's projects, but I hate how he downgrades his fans intelligence with this b.s. Touring is hard on every band, but they know that's what sells their music. It sucks that Ministry has disbanded, but its probably for teh best if Al is this mentally disabled
I must say when I saw the band Al was beyond nice to the fans, he got out of the venue immediatley, signed anything given to him, had photos taken and spent ages talking to the fans.
I love Ministry since 90's. I really love all of their stuff but... What Ministry is about without Barker? What is it Ministry?! I really don't know, and nobody doesn't imho. Al is the VOICE of course, but Barker... Look around Al, look around...
