VB might not rate well internationally, same with XXXX, RateBeer has got very poor scores and reviews.

What those critics don't understand is that it gets pretty fucking hot here in Australia and when the thermometer goes up, you get a hard earned thirst, that needs a big cold beer... And the best cold beer is VIC!

VB isn't a real bitter. Bitters are ales and VB is still a lager and a piss poor one at that. They call VB a bitter which, in VB's case, is a euphemism for "lager which tastes like piss".

Good stuff mate - its my beer of choice but where I live its so unpopular amongst young people its slowy being taken out of the clubs and bars. The pathetic young people here prefer vodka disguised with fruity flavours as they are weak as piss and wouldn't know real liquor if it was pissed all over them
