Anyone got a download link for this awesome concert? i remember that i once downloaded the whole records somewhere but i lost it and cant remember now...
I have to say I was surprised and delighted to hear a song on Battlestar Galactica being done in Irish given that it's my native tongue. It's not perfect. There are a couple of words that are sung that don't actually exist in the Irish language and I assume are approximations but overall it was very well done. The Irish language is full of approximations so it wasn't an issue and I've pretty much had the song on repeat for the last couple of days. Awesome stuff.
hate to say this, because I LOVE this track so much, but this is a pretty bad piece for a live performance :S
I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt a bit because I'm not actually there and the qualities not accurate, but in terms of the performance, at times it sounds like everyones clashing and it sounds awful.
The lyrics: Siulaigi a chairde, siulaidh liom Mar cheo an tsleibhe uaine ag imeacht go deo Dainneoin ar dtuirse leanfam an tsli Thar chnoic is thar ghleannta go deireadh na scrib Seo libh a chairde is canaidh liom Lionaigin oiche le greann is le sport Seo slainte na gcarad ata imithe uainn Mar cheo an tsleibhe uaine, iad imithe go deo
Siulaigi a chairde, siulaidh liom Mar cheo an tsleibhe uaine ag imeacht go deo Dainneoin ar dtuirse leanfam an tsli Thar chnoic is thar ghleannta go deireadh na scrib Seo libh a chairde is canaidh liom Lionaigin oiche le greann is le sport Seo slainte na gcarad ata imithe uainn Mar cheo an tsleibhe uaine, iad imithe go deo
i love this band and especially this song. roslin and adama, and All Along the Watchtower with Katie S. When they sing in this song, are they actually saying anything or are they just just making melody? The wind instruments are the best part in my opinion, That is what makes me love this song so much.
I played this song at a funeral not so long ago. I had the chance to go to Bear's BSG symphony performance in Tenerife and met him, Brenden and Raya there. After the concert, Brendan gave me his sheet music for this piece (it has guitar tabs and phoenetically written lyrics on there). 1 week after returning home, my grandmother died and I was able to sing this song myself at her funeral.
It definitely touches people when played at a funeral...

I always loved the Adama theme, and this song is one of the most beautiful of all its incarnations.

The flute they used was a bad choice, as well as the two people who singed, other then that it was good. :p
I'd rather listen to the original version a few more times.

Last but not least. One of the very first BSG tracks I've ever heard.
And it's even more beautiful as a duet with those two gifted singers.
Thanks for uploading all the Videos! You're my personal hero. :)
