  • Thanks for posting...this is my favorite Salt N Pepa song!!

  • This is the Hardest female rap song ever!

  • Nicki Minaj is successful and not mad at the sister, but it was this type of hip hop that allows them to cut them checks today. they didnt have the technology back then when they were recording that they have today. infact the equipment now was created based on the high level of creativity hip hop brought forth.listen to how they switch up lyrically flawless. just a pure fuckin classic

  • I always loved Salt except when she had the blond hair so glad she got rid of it

  • This is my fav Salt N Pepa song :) Dope!

  • as we do it to you in ya EARHOLE !

    UNNNNNNNNNGH !

  • i wonder when will that style evolve back into fashion..?

  • Sorry, but if U missed 1986-93 (The Golden Era), then goddamnit U just missed it, and are probably 1 of these people wondering WHY the art/music today is CONSTANTLY being dissed & not taken seriously anymore.

When U go from this to the bullshit we see today, does it really need explaining?

  • Man..... takes a nigga back to college days... Used to play this song in the crip line...basketball players will know what I am talking about, before the game.....great post and thanks...

  • Dey crappy flattops

  • And Nicki Minaj is suppose to be the queen of Hip Hop/Rap compared to this here? I think not.

  • @LakeRafiD hahaha .... first she has to take .. Queen Latifah's crown .. that'll be the day .. Latifah's all ol skool .. nothin gonna top that.

  • @MrMykl71

I know, right? Queen Latifah would bust Nicki's azz in a batlle even to this day. Straight up! She'd be reduce to the size of a small bread crumb by the time Latifah got through with her.

  • my sister and I use to lip sink this song when I had the Salt n Pepa hair cut. LOL, I'm getting old.

  • Check out Salt's head in the right hand corner at 3:13. lol

  • why just 2 girls rap..but anytime i see their cd in store always 3 girls?

  • @Afanlynness The 3rd girl is Spinderella their DJ. In their later years she came from behind the turntables and rapped on some of their albums.

  • @Afanlynness the third one is Spinderella, their DJ.

  • this is back when people used to really dance!!!! and party!

  • Thank you SO much for posting this one...it was an AWESOMe follow up to Shake That Thang....and personally my favorite form that album. Ahhh memories.

  • i miss this so much, thank you for the post!!!! Wow...

  • This song maybe old school, but it still CRUSHES the majority of songs that's out right now. The beat and lyrics were and are soooo damn vicious!!

This track is def. of my all time faves!

  • Some good shit. Nicky Minoj is crap with that pop rap nonsense.

  • 1988, Some of the best years of hip hop!

  • all these guys (salt, pep, kid-play, hurby) where all huge stars. Wow the game done changed.

  • I had this haircut, the hair color, and the earrings, and the hat !!

  • This classic was so damn tight! Listening to the beat and lyrics makes me wish they would ban the majority of this garbage that's playing on the radio today, makes me sick to my stomach. As long as I can listen to my old school hip hop, it's like a glass of cold water.

  • I have this video on a VHS tape! Notice some of the steps from MJ's Thriller video? Those were the days...

  • I have this video on a VHS tape! Those were the days...

  • Got to luv this!

  • Get Up by Salt n' Pepa stiil rules!

  • doesnt this video remind u of michael jackson's videos like beat it and bad. the whole alley scene with the group walkin...and breaking out in dance its like they r using dancing as a weapon lol like mj...u can tell its inspired by him or maybe its jus me

  • @tweetylns the scene kind of reminds of MJ's "beat it" but no i don't think it was inspired by him. This and other vids such as "beat it" are all inspired by classic gang scenes like from old movies (like "westside story", etc. etc.)

  • LYRICAL GREATNESS without a curse word!

These ladies would ANNIHILATE these Females of today!

  • Nicki Minja would get MURDERED if she dreamed about trying to go against these ladies.

The amazing thing ? This like 22 years old. I was in 5th grade when this came out.

    And it's still goes hard.

  • @av8or757 Yes you are sooooo right!

  • i'll say it again...this was brilliant. nicki minaj, and .. uh I cant name anymore mc's take note. this is how it is supposed to be done, period. Lyrical beauty, skill and respect.

  • man i have been searching for this video for so long. thank you thank you thank you

  • Wicked I say the girl don't play gonna skip town on judgment day!! they killed it with that one!

  • CLASSICCKKKKK....Those were the days! Lol . When I look at Pep's hair...all I can do is laugh now that I know how the style was created! Lol. Everybody wanted or rocked that style back then!

  • When Salt says; pucker up and kiss the butt of this lyricist* that is so simple but yet so fly( without being vulger).....good music is timeless

  • Classic song and video over a CLASSIC Parliament piano sample.

  • Anyone have the video of the 2008 BET Hip Hop Awards performances with MC Lyte, YoYo, Rage, and Salt N Pepa?? Please POST!!!!

  • Thank you for this!!!!!! I am creating a list of SNP faves. This is high-up on the list of them!!!!!! YES!!!!!!!!!!!! These are my girls!!

Givin a little bit of heart and soul/

as we do it to you in your ear hole

  • Now this is how I remember Rap....

  • I remember seeing this video when I was a youngin'

  • @YoungOldSchoolRapper I have to say I LOVE LOVE LOVE when I see a teenager giving props to old school and recognizing new school is not up to par. You have great taste. Keep it up. There's a lot of amazing old school songs. You'll never run out of good music to listen to. EVER!

  • Salt is a BAD chic. Who else can put her hand in front of the camera and get new weave and clothes? I LOVE this song.. & video

  • les coiffures des mecs.. lol

  • Okay... I can admit some pretty embarassing things because I'm annoymous over the internet, LOL! This track came out in 1988... I was born in 1983, so I was a little kid then. I remember watching this video back then and I used to wonder why they were so mean to that dude. I also used to wonder how he was going to get up (no pun intended) from being tied up and left alone, LOL!

  • This is my ish!!!!!!!

  • I've been looking for this one too for many year. Thanks

  • my fave snp song 4real!

  • They just don't make music and videos like this anymore. As unforgettable as 1988 was for us old school hip hop heads, this song was among the best for that year, This is by far my all time favorite from Salt n Pepa.

  • one of the Best Salt-n-Pepa +Spin songs ever.

  • now thats when hip hop made you move.s n p go hard

  • my favorite salt-n-pepa song! Salt-n-pepa are tight and in charge! I like the dancing too.

  • 2010... COME GET SOME!

    You ain't SAID SHIT!

  • Classic!!

  • When I used to sing along with this I'd always say "my girl Spinderella, she's a power POOPER!"

  • SALT LOOKS LIKE DEBBIE ALLEN IN THIS VID!!!LMAO!!!

  • OMG! Winking guy at about a minute in.

  • @MsProcrastination101 That winking guy is Chris Reid aka "KID"!

  • Real female hip hop at its finest!

  • still dope!!!

  • this is my favorite song!!!!!

  • about time someone uploaded this

  • LIke a pit bull terrier but I'm scarier

  • O.M.F.G. I STILL have my videotape with this video and the others (Tramp, Push It, Shake Your Thang). I have not seen this video in roughly 20 years. And god damn it I still remember the words and some of the dance moves. I actually wanted to be Spinderella when I was a kid. Never did get the awesome oufit that she's wearing in this that I wanted so desperately.

    DOPE yo. DOPE

  • the golden age of hip hop when it was about shaking your ass and or having fun!

  • Man do I miss these days. I really forgot how dope Salt N Pepa was. The BEST in Hip Hop has already come. That new garbage can't hold a candle to any of these classics.

  • this takes me back to 1st grade...LOL

  • the rawest one

  • my favorite part is when she says i ought to slap you punk for being disrespectful

  • This was back when nobosy sounded anybody else!

  • didn t pepa lose her baby when she fell off that platform

  • Loved this joint. Thx ashR66.

  • ROFLMAOFF! thats all I can say........Classic Joint!

  • This is my song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • kid'n'play!!!!

  • Old School/Throwback video of the day...this song is still fire to me, that beat was ill

  • Hey, the beginning of this video is the end of the "Shake Your Thing" video. Man, every time I revisit Salt'N'Pepa they are even fresher than I remember.

  • pussy power (:

  • LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE IT!!

  • thanks so much...this used to be me and jr high friends anthem..we knew all the words and dance steps (big ups to michael jackson...wow he influenced everything)...takes me back to good times and fun...the kids these days, i feel so sorry for them...

  • Dope upload!!

  • not only one of my favorite songs of all time, but one of my fav videos too!salt n pepa. herbie luv bug. mmm mmm mm.

  • Take me back to 8th grade! I remember waking up to this song! This was before Pepa had a nose job.

  • Check out the hair cut, its shaved on the side, they started that cause they dyed their hair blonde and it fell out so they decided to shave off where it fell off and they started a fashion trend that resurfaced last year!!! LUV IT!

  • @DNE98 Kinda like how Bobby Brown's Gumbi fade haircut was an accident! lol How ironic!

  • Loved how Herbie had all these great acts from S n P to Kid n Play ... ironically I didn't know him and Salt were an item till after the fact but knew that they still worked together for another album. Think it was a bad idea for them as business partners to have seperated (not referring to their personal relationship) but that of working together. Because they made great music/vid's as a team

  • Thanks for th upload i have been looking for this video for about 2- 3years.

  • @flc2009 no prob!

    Glad i could help!

    = )

  • OMG!!! This takes me back to 8th grade!!! Thanks for posting!!!

  • @brownfoxx76 no problem!

    = )

  • classic I love it

  • The music is sampled from Parliament (Producer is George Clinton) The song is ALL YOUR GOODIES ARE GONE - Second version 1974 - The original is from 1968 - I love this Salt-N-Pepa song!

  • @Underdog263 You ROCK man.

  • This is music of my childhood. I miss music like this. You didn't need a curse word to get your point across

  • Yeah I know, but it was starting to go there. This was1988 a classic year for hip -hop. Also the same year NWA came out with Straight out of Compton. Remember that?

  • Yes my stepdad had this one on tape and record and the only time we could hear it was in the car.

  • the lyrics to this song are gangster Spinderella my DJ the Turntable Trooper my partner Pepa she's a Power Booster - HOMIES!!!!

  • i was 14 when this song came out.. i remember how much i loved the hair cuts.. ear rings and rippped out acid wash jeans.. awesome post

  • I'm 32 now and soon to be 33 but everytime I hear this song I still think of breaking out with the Running Man LOL

Any over 30 heads who can relate?

  • Hurby Azor is the most underated rap producer of the 80s. Better hooks than Rick Rubin, better drums than Marley Marl. If Kane or Rakim rapped over the beats he cooked up for Salt-n-pepa and Kid n Play he'd be considered one the best ever.

  • I COSIGN THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Kid 'n Play as the detectives at the opening scene. Perfect.

  • Sick azz beat!! this takes me back to the days of creativity!!

  • So odd looking back at their videos and seeing how Spin looked like an equal with the girls from dancing with them and all. But now to learn how the ladies considered Spin just as a sideline player to S n P

  • Loved how they connected the two videos like this is a sequel.

  • the beat came from parliament "all your goodies are gone"

  • My all-time fav S-N-P video! Feels like MJ's "Beat It", only it's classic hip hop. LOVE IT!

  • O,,,M...G!!!

  • One of their best songs. Cold beat..

  • Does anyone know what other song this beat was on? Another older hiphop song, I think..

  • Salt @ my side with the shotgun.. I loove this ish

  • Takes me back, bro .... :)
