I had always taken Annie Besant's word for it that much of Christian theology isn't unique, but, as this video says, there isn't much evidence for it. I don't see why it matters, though.

I'm surprised these anti-Zeitgeist videos are all about religion. When I first watched it, a few years ago, my main objection to it was how it either implied or stated that the creation of money by banks is equivalent to counterfeiting.

the bible teaches to leave the elementary teachings. history of generations, nations, people, etc. Its good to know them and appreciate what other people did for you. Jesus was born in the "house of bread". The word "house" refers to a zodiac house, and bread is a reference to Virgo, the constellation of wheat and grain. Therefore, Jesus was born of a Virgin in the zodiac house of Wheat (Virgo)

If you're not talking about astrotheology, then you're not addressing Zeigeist's claims. I've given you the Dionysis myth where it states that his mother concieves him from a drink given to her by God -- not sex. The myth goes on to state that she never had sex.

I don't think you're really qualified to speak on these matters.

In Ancient Rome, there was a 7 day festival known as "Hilaria" to commemorate Attis. On the first day of the festival his death is commemorated. 3 days later his resurrection is celebrated on the "Day of Joy". Sound familiar?

Krishna's virgin birth was signaled by the Star in the East, and can be verified directly within the Srimad Bhagavatam. He also performed miracles and was resurrected. Buddha walked on water and his mother was a virgin...check the buddhist scriptures.

These are attributes of the Sun from Dec 22nd -25th. The time of his literary birth is irrelevant. Horus had many different myths. The one pertaining to Zeitgeist is astrotheological, meaning it's not found within literature or the literary myths.

I know my history. Zeitgeist is wrong about some things, but is right about others. The Romans doctored up Egyptian beliefs in the new testament and Sumerian myths in the old. Thats why there are no other text outside the Bible because the originals are written on Egyptian walls or Sumerian tablets.
