Funny thing is that I ay Eldar and when we recreated this battle the eldritch storm killed the captain so yeh and it's also total crap that a space marine could survive being shot by eldritch storm and then fight a lictors by himself the lictor would have to have really bad luck for him to lose

Negative, the Eldar were nearly destroyed by the Psychic wake that was the birth of Slaanesh. The Necrontyr didn't leave much of an impact because the Old ones were wipes out by the Enslaver Plague. Both of which are still around.

Actually the dude without the helmet is a seargant. Look at his right shoulder pad after he headshots the warp spider exarch, you can clearly see the upward pointing arrow which denotes a marine as part of a tactical squad.

Damn, Elldra are always trying to prevent the bad things but Space Marines are always there to stop the Eldar for no good reason and then fight that evil and lose men, after that they brag about how great they are for stopping that evil even tho the Eldar would be able to stop it without so many consequences. And they don't need an Exterminatus, all they need is a Seer council, some ritual, poof and the evil is gone xD

@InnDeGrean it's the same problem you can find in the first DoW intro and the Ultramarines Movie: if you didnt knew the fluff you would think a SMs armor is made of paper

the problem is if they had to show us a full battle between a SM squad and an eldar group, you would have 30 mins of stalemate with the Eldar sneaking/sniping/disappearing while SM gain ground using any tactical advantage the ground can give them thanks to their superior resistance

@thorpsy100 Warhammer 'tech' is odd. Its a consolidation of fantastic fantasy elements and an almost steampunk throwback type technology. Its really one of a kind. Shame I suck at strategy games or I'd play. I really do like the lore though, very rich and dystopian in an unnerving way.

(except nids who got rupture cannan(fire two pods in a burst, first releases a acid that melts the second pod which contains a perfect vacumm and when its casing is breached the vacumm wrenches... whatever inside out( yes that includes titans :P)))

2. I was talking about the general level of technology, not guns. Tau have best ranged weapons, but they are not superior to eldar in general.

Lore reason: unlike our time, protective technology (armor/shielding) works very well against enemy fire.Races like Eldar rely on speed to avoid fire.You cant hit them if you dont get close. other can bypass your defence entirely

Storytelling reason: it's WAY cooler the evisceration of hundreds of beings with a motherfucking chansword with blood n guts n limbs flying around than a boring sniping round from half kilometer away :D

@cleremond I enjoyed the Ultramarines movie for what it was... but it could have been a lot better, I agree. There was too much walking towards the target, and the final fight with the daemon was a bit pants (and yes, the Ultramarines are not the most visually-striking of Chapters), but I still think it was a good introduction to 40K nevertheless. Hopefully the next one will include Orks/Tyranids and a less "vanilla" Chapter (like, say, the Blood Angels or the Space Wolves)...
