@slickableandsoulful don't blame all Christians for words of a few kncuckleheads!! But this choirs does sound quite good. I just wish they were louder.
@slickableandsoulful Are YOU serious? What difference does it make what year it is? Can Jesus be Messiah and not Messiah at the same time? Think! Not all beliefs that claim to be true are true. That is pretty much common sense, if you know what different religions teach.
This song needs a lot of energy... not just pretty and accurate notes... Being a soprano in a gospel choir that performs this song every Christmas, I can attest that this song is a loud proclamation, not a sweet ballad.
@mail1atpianojoede Amen brother, the point of the song is that He shall reign forever and ever over white and black. If we are going to be singing his praises together forever, why not be together now?
@areyuwithme The point was that God does not even see them as White! He does not see them as "My White children" and blacks as "My Black children". That's how man sees it but God is looking at their hearts, not their skin color. That should not even be looked at or mentioned, for that matter.
@thereisnophantom q had an all star choir. these people are singing for the sheer enjoyment of the music and their appreciation of the genius of q's arrangement. I hope they had a good time;they certainly seem to be enjoying themselves. imitation is music appreciation at its best.
OAN, i've heard whites mock 'black style 'singing; yet when they imitate 'black style' music, we mock them. ironic. the synthesis of african and european music sensibilities is what distinguishes american music.
For a choir director, I would thing you would demonstrate more temperance with your words. I too am a directress but I must surrender my tongue to the Lord, otherwise whatever I direct is a tinkling cymbal. Check your tude liftmyall it doesn't speak of the grace of Christ. Blessings!
I enjoyed it! However, if you listen to the original version, the choir aspirates the H (a breathy HA--llelujah), which adds more emphasis to the word, and its meaning!!
Just buy the whole album. Search Amazon for Messiah, A Soulful Celebration. They've got Stevie Wonder and other namebrand voices. Just rocks. The whole album.
I can never get tired of hearing of this song I love it! especially to hear different choirs sing

@slickableandsoulful This just makes me wonder what "spirit" you are following after, since those who have false beliefs can claim to be "spiritual".

@phluirin1 Also, it is not the colour of the people that sing it, but the way they sing it, that makes it what it is.

@thereisnophantom God is not a respecter of persons. He looks at the heart, not the appearance (skin color).
