FUCK!!! I heard this song , and then today i watched a movie called Henry, portrait of a serial killer, and the intro of this song came on for the opening credits. i was like WTF ITS MALEVOLENT CREATION... now i realize its the other way around hahaha ... that was so cool though when i made the connection... hit me like a bag of bricks.
I prefer Jason's vocals and the music of In Cold Blood, since it's the first MC I ever bought, then the vocals and the voice was different on TFAOM, and I hated it....just like Silent Hill 4 is the first SH I ever rented, and it scared the shit out of me, and it's my fav. of all of them, yet players of the franchise say the second is the best one. If you like Bret's vocals for whatever reason, so be it, I won't convince you and you won't convince me.
I like listening to this band just as much as Deicide :) DEATH FUCKING METAL! Fuck your Sub gens! DEATH FUCKING METAL! Except no substitutes, DEATH FUCKING METAL!
I remember when this album came out in high school.I couldn't take it out of my cd player. 20 years later and it's still just as brutal as it was back then.
My favorite album from them is In Cold Blood. Jason Blachowitz, Phil Faciana, John Paul Soars and Derrik Roddy were an awesome combination. Bret Hoffman just plain sucks, and the music just doesn't have that In Cold Blood sound like it used to. This song isn't bad though, but they need Jason Blachowitz back and the others.
@SinisterManiac Can you read? Apparently not. I don't want Brett Hoffman on vocals, I want Jason Blachowitz on vocals like on In Cold Blood, not just playing bass. Get back John Paul Soars and Derek Roddy along with Jason and i'll start listening to them again.
@ThePower2MEtal I'd rather be raped by him(he'd have to fight for it of course) than hear his vocals. Of course at the beginning he sounded ok like in this song, but time isn't good for some people. I had high hopes for MC...then I bought The Fine Art Of Murder. Talk about being let down.
@stopplayingwithmyfat Brett is the orginal badass, this material is muuuch older and influential than the album you named. Besides, Brett can sustain his notes like a mother fucker, met him after a show once and he is a total badass, really humble guy. Jason generic approach cannot hold a candle to the distinct Brett growls.
@metallifreak77 Whether you argue for technical reasons or you just enjoy the vocals bc it sounds good is just personal preference. I voiced my opinion, you voiced yours, so be it.
@stopplayingwithmyfat Indeed it does, regardless, we are both Malevolent fans. I am just upset that you think Brett sucks, I even think Jason is a good vocalist, but I far prefer Brett, seems a nice debate amongst fans at times.
@metallifreak77 Actually i'm not a MC fan so to speak, since I only owned two of their albums In Cold Blood and The Fine Art Of Murder. When I first heard of these guys my friend at the time played this song and I loved it so I went out and bought ICB and I loved that. What I didn't know is the guy who did the vocals on the EOTA song definitely wasn't the same guy on ICB, but I bought TFAOM bc I had no internet back then to do research on an album. So I haven't bought a MC album since.
@metallifreak77 TBH i'm getting tired of death metal, it's too abrasive. I don't know if i'm getting older or maybe people just change which isn't bad. The only death metal I "MAY" listen to nowadays is maybe Obituary. I also noticed the people who listen to it are depressed and suicidal, and the people who make the music seem like they won't amount to much in life.
@stopplayingwithmyfat Those may be the people around your area, but not me! I listen to all kinds of metal... traditional, thrash, death, some black, folk/pagan, doom, etc. Most pure styles are great to me. Fans will surely kill any genre though. I mean, I love blues, folk, and classical too, but some genres, like country and hip-hop, the fans killed it for me. So I know where you are coming from there. The suicidal people around here seem to like emo music or gothic shit.
Malevolent Creation's best album! \m/
