  • that was a waist of a good pizza.valley girIs rock!

  • Total New Wave! I love it and always loved the video, too!

  • Such a good song at the time. Actually I still like it now. I had the album in the 80s and this song took up the whole side. It was long. Guess they had to edit it down to get radio play.

  • wow giant dog check this

  • I think its cute. Heard it tonight at a bar actually. Reminds me of MTV at the begining.

  • awesome song! this was a fave in old upper party so much fun!!

  • This really sucks

  • On of the most forgettable hits of the early 80's

  • and don't use this group as an example of talent from the 80s. this is a cheesy tune.

  • Qué buena música, esta canción me encanta tanto que pienso en ella a menudo.

Viva la música y vivan los 80´s.

  • I did it all for the nookie. 8os were the best times of my life. Everything clicked to perfection.

  • No need, I would have reacted the same way. LOL Take Care.

  • My favorite song in third grade in 83

  • Help us keep The Flirts and 80's music alive and thriving all around the world.

    Kozmo.....Los Angeles Calif. USA

  • yes, 80's muff

  • ...cheap cologne & that damn song, too...

  • I agree. I'm 46 and continue to be amazed at some of the really good stuff that comes out. Granted, I have to look for it but we have more options now for finding it than we did 30 years ago.

  • Man this is so old that the Texaco logo on the truck at the beginning of the song is their old hexagon. Nice.

  • i miss the old days of mtv..

  • The 80's was a unique time period for music. LOTS of great stuff came in from England. NO manufactured bands- NO "Star Search", "Gong Show" rejects turned pro. If you sucked, you sucked. Music nowadays makes me go "Really?" how in the world did they get a recording contract...and for more than a single??

  • @MarkSentMe The Flirts were a manufactured band put together by a NYC producer. They changed lineups all the time. And, much as I love this song, they weren't exactly talented singers, especially the 2nd voice on the song. Even as a teen I was amazed that someone that flat ended up on a record.

  • @CrookdRiverWmn Well, poo. There goes my whole image of them... hee hee Bow Wow Wow was also a manufactured band. I still love them, though.

  • I LIKE IT IN 5TH GRADE I LIKE IT IN MY 40'S..

  • Now I want to Drink Some Schlitz and go see the Dickies at the Roxy and then have a Slice of Pizza and tell a valley girl that there is more to life than Hair Spray and Leg Warmers then go watch Marcel Dionne and the Kings play the Oilers at the Forum

  • @Wehategod

It has to be a Schlitz Tall Boy.

  • @kalcoh No other way to drink a Schlitz

  • you would NEVER see anything like thison MTV now-----I was in 5'th grade & still knew they sucked compared to the Shangri-Las

  • Juke boxes used to cost a dime!

  • Just heard this for the first time in at least 25 years and I remembered every word

  • Classic crap at it's finest!

  • i miss when girls wore those one-piece sweater/dresses & nylons with heels, yummy.

  • @Hot80s Yeah! Also, .. a blonde, brunett, and redhead together paling around, .. thats something I don't see often nowadays. The media today seems to pretty much seperate them and pit 'em against each other .

  • I'm 40 years old and if I hear one more person my age whine and bitch and complain how 'those were the days/music sucks now/why can't they make music like this anymore/ I'm gonna freaking scream. There is plenty of good music nowadays. You just need to look for it and keep an open mind.

  • @seanr456 well said i'm equally appalled at all the kids that think the 80s were the shit, they werent. Alot of racism & uptight people in high places. The music on the other hand was alot to them now like the 50s & 60s were to us in the 80s.

  • @Hot80s Thank you. Yes, your points are very true.

  • @Hot80s no it wasent.it was fun and the uptight people are always in high places, but some of the funnest people r also in the highest places.

whats the matter, didnt get enough sex in the 80s?

  • @bobo007xx more than you did sweety ;) (( kiss ))

  • @seanr456 I agree, and to expand on your point, anyone who may be thinking that can start with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs-Heads Will Roll. Close your eyes and tell yourself it's Missing Persons if it helps the illusion.

  • @seanr456 no there isnt.it sucks,sucks,sucks

    just go to a club

  • @seanr456 THANK YOU! It's not like this kind of song was all over the radio in most places back in the 80s anyhow. We had Lionel Richie, Peter Cetera and lots of overproduced crap that dominated the radio. New Wave was the exception, not the rule. I'm 44, and I find a lot of great music out there. But, as always, little of it is in the top 20.

  • @seanr456 In the great words of Beavis and Butthead "Your a dork"

  • @tkremark That should read, "You're a dork." Not "Your a dork."

See, the former signifies a state of being--i.e., "You are illiterate." The latter represents possession or ownership--i.e., your trailer, your in-bred hillbilly sister.

If you are going to insult me--however forlornly--you should really spell your message correctly.

  • @seanr456 In the Great Words of The Talking Heads. "Same as it ever was"

  • @seanr456 I actually was correct in my assertion. Because Beavis and Butthead would have spelled it that way. LOL Serious Sean, was not trying to insult you. I actually agree with you. I find good songs today. Although I am still and 80's Dude. Take Care no hard feelings. You rock!

  • @tkremark Ok, well, I'm sorry about my comment then. Thanks!

  • @seanr456 Bobby 'O' still makes music...of course there's still good music these days!

  • @olliebabanher40fleas Does he really? Wow, he was great.

  • @seanr456 Yeah, look up Bobby O on CDBaby.com his new material will pop up!

  • @seanr456 Dude, I'm 48 and yes...there is PLENTY of great music out now. But MAN!...the music of the 80's was fun! Alot of artists today are so serious! Could you see a song like 'Walking On Sunshine' or 'I Eat Cannibals' being done today? Everybody in music now is too damn cool for fun...80's music was fun...and THAT'S the thing I miss the most.

  • @seanr456 name a talent that is out now. you shouldn't have to look. the 80s and 70s were both better. some of the 90s but not much. don't you dare name beiber, gaga, or anybody like that.

  • @seanr456 To be fair, yes there is good music today as well. I have an open mind and it helps me filter out bad songs from good.

  • does anyone know where I can find this song? i love it! i have been wanting it for a long time but itunes just has a bunch of idiots singing it...so valley girl....love that movie....yeah lady gaga would for sure do this good but she should do it like it sounds...not all funky

  • @chismosa91 Try "YouTube Downloader". It's a free, very easy to use app. You can download the song and convert it to mp3 format. cnet.com has a link to it.

  • @chismosa91 Theres' a free app called 'YouTube Downloader". It's available at cnet dot com. Very easy to use. You can download the YT video and convert it to mp3 format.

  • This song has been in my head ALL DAY LONG today!! It was mixing with "I Love Rock-n-Roll"...

  • These three girls couldn't sing their way out of a paper bag but still somehow it works.

  • those boots are made for walkin...

  • OMG this song was so cheesy- I LOVE IT!!!!! New wave rules!

  • Valley Girl! And it's from the year I was born! :)

  • Is that lead singer Kim Wilde?

  • @donnycarrin3d Nope

  • i could picture lady gaga doing this song

  • @discovery781 Lady Gaga could kick this song!!

  • The brunette looks really, REALLY tall..

  • @LENTICULARPLASTIC I was just thinking the same thing.. very tall... lookit those legs!

  • 100% 8o's, i miss you

  • Its so fucking rediculous to type in these crooked words what is that all about like a nasty crude person cant read???

  • I remember when girl used to swish when they walked unlike walking stiff today like zombies who might break if they bend below the knees.

  • dayum.....1983.... get High on a doob an walk in you mini skirt... TOKIN>>> an Strokin

  • One of the best new wave girl jams ever. +0p$#!+

  • OMG they look like the sex and the city girls

  • Wow, thanks, I'd totally forgotten this song existed! Getting old sucks.

  • I miss the 80s also. It is when I grew up and I liked so many of the different kinds of music and videos we had. Nothing like now. This is a great example of a lost 80s gem that I really remember the video for but never heard the song on the radio anywhere.

  • i just love the corvette in the front of the pizza place

  • @mysteryboy1982 Me too, but then I like the Ford Elite at the very end, too.

  • +0p$#!+

  • Thank you Satellite radio!

  • this was sooooo much fun!

  • it's like, you know, like totally!

  • 3.05 Yeah, take THAT, asshole! Ah ha ha ha ha ha!!

  • Andrea, Holly and Rebecca ...... The "original" FLIRTS - WERE SO FREAKIN' HOTT !!!

  • hahahaha I missed too

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!

  • Ah yes the 80's! Back when music was fun, made sense & you could dance to it!

  • dj over kill houston tx

  • i can't believe bobby o is "straight"...

  • Wow, I remember hating this shit then. It's even worse than I recall.

  • I agree, jimmy!

  • going on 20 years, and this is still my favorite song.

I put this song on a repeating loop tape, and listened to it 20 hours straight, driving from Missouri to California.

  • @falkenhayn98 Wow, you must have an extremely limited musical palette. 20 years and this is still your favorite tune? 20 hour loop? I'm not sure I could take 20 minutes if this novelty song. It's not horrible but it sounds so dated and goofy, almost like a parody song. What's your music collection look like? The soundtrack from Valley Girl

  • @ritter89 :-) There was a DJ in Pittsburgh who played "Pineapple Princess" for 5 hours straight, and people were getting riled up about that. TWENTY HOURS? Isn't that what people who have mild forms of autism do?

  • @ritter89

MIne sure does! And proud of it!

  • I think that I am starting to see girls dressed like this again...at least here in Long Beach.

  • i think someone should do this song with a video of kindergartners and saying don't put another dime in the juice box and the song could be like a barney thing.

  • i think someone should do this song with a video of kindergartners and saying don't put another dime in the juice box.

  • miss the days where MTV showed videos like this and now they do reality tv. how sad

  • @driver122973 remember that they cancled ren and stimpy cause it was not music content. how is reality tv music related?

  • wow i cannot belive ppl are serious that they think music in the 80s was good ...totally laughable songs like this are interesting novelties but good music its not

  • Great times froms 1984!

  • Good God, we used to listen to this everyday!

How were we to know in the future they'd take poop and call it music?

  • oh my !!!! at the risk of sounding brash , i was banging betty"s left & right to this song and many others like it in the 1980"s !!!! id'e like to thank all you loose women here & now !!!! it was a pleasure serving you all !!! sincerly, ermanno "the flying italian"

  • @ermthewerm Is that you Ermie?? How've you been? I thought our "special song" was "Glamorous Life" by Sheila E. Don'chu remember???? LOL

  • I love the good old days of video where the budgets were nill. It's so funny to see vids like this where they couldn't afford to clear the streets, so we have real people looking around like "What's all this?"

  • this song was on valley girl.

  • ahh the 8o's great pop and rock music compared to today!!!!

  • Yes the era of great and classic music Thats The 80's!

  • sounds like brown sugar by the rolling stones,

  • @klisher So it's not just me then? I said the same thing about five months ago. Surprised Klein didn't try to sue for this one like he did "Bittersweet Symphony."

  • Man I love this song people ... I am not sure how I feel about that!

  • I'm 13 and for some reason i love this songg

  • I wanna go dancing!!!!!

  • i used to hear this song all the time when i working out....i miss the 80's...

  • I miss the 80's a lot! I thought the movie "Hot Tub Time Machine" was funny as shit and gave a good trip back!

  • Damm, Wow,

Back in the day when I worked a Six Flags(stl) I was working at a stand next to the amphitheatre and we kept on saying "Don't put another dime in the juke box. etc" till closing and during cleanup.

  • These girls totally wanted to be the American version of Bananarama, but their hair wasn't nearly as cool.

  • remember when MTV used to play videos...the good old days...!

  • Comment removed

  • Hell Yes I miss the 80's and the 90's....

  • fantastic song and video, I remember when MTV was not NTV and played it all the time....

  • @wrff1045 Miss MTV back in the days! I remember when the first video on MTV came out in 1981. The Buggles Video Killed the Radio Star. I remember Martha Quinn on there. What happened to MTV? I think they should ditch it since it's trashy now.

  • How could NOT love the 80's!!!!! It was best of times. Great looking women, tons of fun and the best part...Killers Bands of all genres!!! All we get now is this crap no one can understand. Who remembers the " Donger" ????

  • Some nice looking gals from when girls still looked good unlike now. That blonde's one serious doll. A previous person said they look like adult stars. No, it's just called not being dressed like a total slob the opposite of which is standard practice today. Plus the make up in the 80s was still glamorus and destinctive not like todays bland, boring "natural" look.

  • @mzwere1 I totally totally agree. I remember when women looked really nice and pretty. Now they look like sluts. You could dress women up like the 1940's today and they'd still not look like they did then. It's the makeup, hair, attitude that's changed. Class and Style are gone!

  • @robbiesyohn Right, if you had told me at the time 25 or more years ago how bad things would be today I wouldn't have believed you. Seriously, women now are just gag inducing with a crap appearance and a crap attitude to match.

  • haha I banged the blond after a gig they has in the early 80's. Way before they made it big.

  • The second girl totally messes up the song!! I could probably sing better!

  • one of my fave songs from my grade school years!!!!

  • I can't believe I liked this when I was a kid. It's trash! And those awful voices. Sheesh!

  • @AnUnidentifiedMale roflmao I so agree with you there. I dont know about you but I have change with times. I keep liking the new shit better.

  • Greeting Flirts Fans. Guess what? they are going to be performing on Memorial Weekend 2010 in Alhambra city, CA. 10 minutes from downtown LA at Granada night club. Some of U have been there for Salsa Dancing but this time The Flirts will be performing our favorite songs. Don't miss them I know I won't. Take care and let The Flirts perform on Memorial Weekend our favorite songs. God Bless Our Beautiful America :O) Thank you Elconquistador69too 4 this great song!

  • Wow I havent heard this song since High school. I remember me and a friend always singing this!

  • The girl who sounds like Kim Wilde. She's my favorite!

  • is that sparks in the background?

  • I MISS THE 80'S.. I Miss this great music, the great fun, and the simpleness of that era...

  • Attention: All Flirts FAns. They are gonna be playing in Alhambra on Memorial Weekend 2010. More information Coming your way or call The Granada club in Alhambra. I am gonna be there taking pictures of them. They are on my favorite list. They are so beautiful (new comers are welcome). Thank You Flirts for all your great music. Greetings from LA. CA. USA. Mayan Gods like this song!!!!

  • I forgot about this song till I heard it on Sirius radio very cool

  • Did Allen Klein ever sue for this song lifting the riff from "Brown Sugar"? Before the vocals come in, try singing the first verse to the Stones' song. It's the same bloody riff. Not that the Stones were all that original. British art school boys trying to sound like sixty year old black sharecroppers. It's just that Klein was so bloody litigious RE: Richard Ashcroft.

  • It's 1982 and this is in heavy rotation on Mtv, hearing this reminds me of Mtv in it's infancy. I must have been 16, now I'm old. LOL

  • Its a good song, with better studio work. Anyone got a newer version of this song?

  • valley girl best moofi eva

  • "WOW" this is a true old song of the 1980's! I havent hear since I was a teenager and that was a LONG time ago! I am in my earlyer 40's! Dang I feel old fart!--lol,

  • Texaco Tanker Truck Damn havent seen one of those in ages

  • It's from the movie "Valley Girl"

  • Hey, I remembered the scene with the lady pouring out the records from the box.

  • I love this song so much. I can't find it anywhere. :(

  • I saw these girls on American Bandstand and I saw them in a movie .They sang in a band at a prom in the movie.Unfortunately remember the name of the movie.

  • Just want to clarify, "nikkibox", this song was in the party scene early in the movie "Valley Girl", but Josie Cotton was the one who performed at the prom.

  • remember that black girl who sang song "diamonds, dont need your money dont need your keys, diamonds, love dont come for free" I am looking for it, message me if you know singer!

  • Herb Alpert featuring Janet Jackson, "Diamonds"

  • You called it, Zorsha. These chicks couldn't find the right key if it was in the ignition with the engine running.

  • The YouTube Time Machine has once again taken me back to the greatest decade. (80's)

  • I love this song when I Iwas 16,and I still love

  • Wow...

Back when I had less sense, and more hair...

Wait, that didn't come out right...x-D

  • Back when the girls actually SANG and could actually SING! What passes for singing today is a joke and complete garbage.

  • Good song . The Brunette is sooo Hot!

  • wow, this does take me back, the beginings of MTv.. guys this was a nice trip..

  • Ahh, the 80s! The last era of great music!

  • @jimmyhd1969 The last era indeed, but the 90s did have some good music but mainly because of 80s folks such as Madonna, U2, and Whitney Houston making music into the 90s.

  • @jimmyhd1969 EVERY generation says something similar: "the 1950s were the peak of music" "the 1960s were the best" "the 1970s were the grooviest" "the 1990's were da bomb" and so forth...

  • @jimmyhd1969 ++++Shake that 1982 ASS... work that heavy makeup..... pre aids... these girls smokin weed an dick____

  • 42 year old guy here thinking about the early 0,s .wow..the music was so bad it was good!!..I bet none of these ladies had to flash a crotch shot to get some attention!!! Lets hear it for the decade of BAD HAIR!!!!!!

  • Wow, definitely sounds like Kim Wilde. Was this song in either Valley Girl or Reckless, or am I thinking of another song?

  • Valley Girl.

  • This song is on the Valley Girl Soundtrack! Love the song and the '80's ruled!

  • OMG....my high school years....sigh...i laminated a pic of them on my folder...haha /love this song!!!!

  • The girl who sounds similar to Kim Wilde is my favorite. I like that kind of vocal style from female singers. If I ever form a band then I will try to find a girl who sing similar.

  • I was too young to enjoy the pop culture of the early 80's. I do feel like I missed out. Many of you who were in high school or college, you look back and miss it. So, I've decided to invent a time machine for us all!

  • The Time Machine is already here. Its called YouTube.

  • yet another song that makes me miss the 80's

  • Totally '80's!!!!

  • I really admire these 80's girls -- they managed to look sexy without looking sleazy (unlike today's female singers).

  • I agree. Back then these female singers made it without the sleaziness. Maybe they had some subtle sexual image but nothing like today with girls who can't really sing in my opinion.

  • I liked this song back in the 80's. This is the first time I saw the video. It's great! Thanks for uploading!

  • In the early 80's HBO had a show called Video Jukebox, that's where I saw this video. Come to think of it, it's the only place I ever saw it, until now. It was an attempt to gain some of MTVs' audience. They actually had some decent videos, but a very limited catalog. I remember a video for The J. Geil's Band, Angel In Blue,

which I have not seen since then. It was a haunting ,tragic song with images of Marilynn Monroe. That alone made it memorable.

  • This is in Carmine st in west village NYC

  • i like this song it reminds me of the past back in school tls

  • my god this like from the first year or two of mtv, amazing put in a search for a band called the look doing a song were gonna rock see if y'all remember that one
